I've loved Dutch from the beginning and I have found no better consistent cold brew than here. This parking lot though is a freaking hot mess and more times than not I end up leaving before ordering because the lines are wrapped in the parking lot with no way to keep the driveways clear for cars visiting other stores in the parking lot. The second surprise location is a welcomed addition to Surprise. Hopefully it is open soon. While service is still pretty good, sometimes it's so slow. The app is a welcome addition and I feel makes the line go faster. My only hope of change is to have someone directing traffic a bit better especially during busy hours. read more

I definitely will not be going back to Dutch Bros after my experience last week. I am a weekly regular at this Dutch Bros and I pride myself on being kind to the kids taking orders and the baristas, always ensuring to tip them well. Last week when I visited I added an American flag to my truck and the windows had "RIP Charlie Kirk" written on them. The girl taking my order was awfully rude. From a distance she looked at my vehicle with disgust and was incredibly rude while taking my order, being obvious that I was an inconvenience to her. When it came time to pay and tip, she did let me know tipping was optional, yet I left the highest tip, per usual. After the payment, there was no thank you, no good bye, no have a good day, nothing. With part of my order I used funds that I had left on my app and it was supposed to be applied to my total. When I pulled up to the window, I was told I was still responsible for the full amount of payment despite using funds from my app (which had zeroed out). The young lady who handed me my drinks was a sweetheart, but she was so confused with why the funds were not applied to my order. She had to call the girl over who took my order originally, which she scowled at me. A manager came over to fix the transaction so I could go about my way. Not sure how appropriate it is to be political as an employee. I used to love Dutch Bros because of how kind their employees are, but I will not be going back. This was a terribly uncomfortable experience. I will say, their coffee is top notch. As long as the kid taking your order has the same political stance as you, this is your place. If not, I urge you to go elsewhere, otherwise you will might be treated with hostility. read more

I'm really close to giving up on Dutch Brothers altogether. This place is so damn slow. Why should you have to wait in line 25 minutes to get a cup of iced tea? There are four cars ahead of me and we haven't moved in 20 minutes. I don't understand what the hell is going on inside. I gave up Starbucks for this but I think I'm gonna go back to Starbucks. IF YOU WANT TO SKIP THE LINE, JUST GO UP TO A FEMALE'S VEHICLE AND CALL HER A B****! The manager will have you park and come get your drink order then hand deliver it to you so you don't have to wait in line. I waited patiently in line when it was my turn to enter the drive thru lane when a guy pulled up to my vehicle and told me he was before me. I told him I had already been there way before him and he cussed me out. I pulled in before him so he got out of his car and went and told the employee taking drink orders I cut him. Ok his way to tell on me, he called me a b****. The lady in front of me told the employee that I was actually behind her and he came after me. So, the employee had him go park and the manager came out, took his drink order, and on the way back told the employee he was very sweet. I told her he wasn't sweet and that he accused me of cutting him when I didn't, then called me a b****. The manager rolled her eyes and then she went on to make his drink and hand deliver it before the 9 other cars ahead of me. DISGUSTING! A nice little coffee shop. Employees are super friendly. This can get very busy. They have a distinct Irish cream flavor my husband craves once in awhile. He likes to get the 911! After breakfast at a local place nearby, my family decided they wanted coffee to fuel the rest of our day. I was already so stuffed, but I'm glad I ordered something anyway. The drive-thru line was super long, but it went by quickly. The employee that was outside taking orders was really friendly. Not like forced friendly, but genuinely happy to be there. We told him it was our first time and he recommended some of his favorites. We had glanced at the menu online beforehand, so we already knew what we wanted. I ordered the Cookie and the bf ordered the vanilla bean mocha. My sister in laws ordered the Caramelizer and the dirty macchiato (secret menu item). The thing I loved about each drink was that you took a sip of the drink and you knew exactly what each drink was. It wasn't just a sweet concoction of coffee and syrups. And the coffee wasn't bitter nor did it leave that nasty after taste in your mouth. There was a good ice to drink ratio as well, unlike other coffee places that give you mostly ice. An employee brought our drinks to our car before we even got up to the window to pay. Now that's customer service right there. The cashier was overly friendly, I mean really overly friendly with the bf. Whatever, I just take that as a compliment because I have good taste. I still loved my drink. So I have been watching these outlets growing in my community. One finally opened on Greenway and Reems. I tried ordering a Cappuccino. The girl that meets you outside had no idea what that was...LOL....a coffee shop that has never heard of a Cappuccino??? She had to go inside and ask the other worker what it was. Okay this place has the absolute nicest people working there! My husband and I weren't sure what to get so we asked the employees and everything they recommended was great. I tried their iced chai and it was subtle but the perfect amount of cinnamon and I'm a complete chai snob. I also tried the caramelizer, blended and iced over the course of several days. The blended is the best! My husband tried the lemonades and their cold brew. He liked the lemonade enough to order it twice while we were in the area but he prefers his coffee. I understand that your busy in the drive thru but that doesn't make it ok to completely ignore people waiting in line at the front window. I stood there for 20 minutes before my order was even taken (and I was 2nd in line) this is completely unacceptable. It took 30 minutes to get a cold brew. Meanwhile if I had gone through the drive thru I would've been able to place the same order 4 different times in the same amount of time it took me to order one iced coffee at the front counter. I typically love Dutch Brothers and have no complaints. But yesterday I went to the walk-up window and said I wanted two black teas sweetened one large and one small. The guy asked if I wanted peach tea. I told him no I wanted just regular black tea and to have it sweetened. Drove all the way into Phoenix with the drinks for myself and my co-worker and they were peach tea! Needless to say I was very unhappy as I do not like the flavor of the peach tea personally! Update- went this morning and told them what happened yesterday. They apologized and made me new teas for today! You have to love a company that accept the situation and makes it right. Another update once again. I'm not sure what has happened since the end of December. I honestly think its time for Dutch to build a 2nd location in Surprise. The parking lot literally was not made for the volume of traffic that arrives at that store and its getting even worse by the day. Your employees do not deserve the amount of pressure that they get trying to pump out drinks to a never ending line. Because of the super slow lines and them trying to pump out drinks, alot of my drinks have been wrong. Most of the time its like they forgot to add flavor to the coffee. I can't get mad at them, they have 10+ other drinks to make. The app has been a tremendous help with getting orders in quicker, but they honestly need some people from the westgate and goodyear location to come up and show this bunch how to hustle. Granted Westgate is a bigger location but I seen those kids hustle with more cars in line then Surprise. Walk up window still isn't any better, The other day I was so frustrated at watching only one person order and wait 10 minutes to get their drink. Even if there is only 2 people in line they won't take your order intill the other person gets their drink. I literally left the line, got in my car, drove in the drive through line and was able to get my drink while that person standing at the window was still waiting for their drink. Dutch is my favorite. And I'm so glad that there is one about a minute away from me. It's not too busy. And the building itself is a decent size. Probably one of the biggest ones I have been to ever. Of course they are always friendly. I definitely recommend the iced annihilator. It's my favorite and I get it every time. However you can get a white one of those and I think that means it's with white chocolate or something like that! I'm not a Starbucks person. At least not anymore. So definitely try this if you haven't. My first time ever was back 3-4 years ago. I didn't understand the fuss. And now I do hahahah. 11 August 2018: currently I still love Dutch Bros. The people are amazing. I was having a rough day last week and unfortunately I don't know the names of the girls I spoke to but the girl who took my order was really sweet and then the girl at the window reached out to hold my hand as comfort. So thankful for Dutch Bros! Also two of my other favorite drinks that are a must try is the white annihilator but as a cream soda. It tastes almost like a root beer float lol. So good. Not too sweet either. And my favorite tea to get is the kiwi strawberry coconut unicorn blood green tea. I know it sounds gross but it's like the perfect blend. I don't typically like a whole lot of fruity sweet things but this is perfect as long as they don't put too many pumps of syrup. read more
