Just so we're clear I have never, not once tried Dutch Bros. (As I write this review my daughter is arguing the fact that I have)...whatever the case I am not an enthusiast. I can't get my head wrapped around the idea of being wrapped around a building for umpteen minutes for a Dixie cup of cold java. I have nothing against them other than the fact that because of them I am frequently pestered by my daughter to head in Dutch Bros. In addition I'd like to add Dutch Bros locations are few and far between in my humble opinion. Now those kids that work there. They're some of coolest folks you'd ever want to meet. Good vibrations, everyone upbeat, great attitudes, while remaining respectful. A real hip spot and to boot they have "whipsticks" if you don't no what that is you need to visit more often. Star-sucks. I'm a strict Dutch Bros convert. Of the various DB locations in town, this one is my favorite. The baristas here seem to make the most consistently delicious beverages and are fast and friendly to boot. I very frequently take a detour on my way to work in the morning to grab a caffeinated treat here. Flavorings or other drink variations are free and tax is included in the price to make things extra simple. Nobody needs to be thinking too much before they get their coffee! Also stamp cards! Yay for stamp cards! Buy ten drinks and your eleventh is free with no limitations on size. read more

Oh my goodness. I haven't had coffee this good in ages. First time at Dutch Bros and ordered the Kicker (Irish creme blend), hot. It's really nice to have something this early in the morning. They open at 5 AM, which is convenient, since I like to wake up around 4 or 5 AM, as I like to get a lot done in my day. They have a nearby location that's open 24 hours. I like the friendliness and hospitality here. Good staff! Helped me in making a good selection. read more

I had the best experience here this morning! I had never been to Dutch Bros before so I asked Alana to make me her favorite. She was genuinely friendly and chatted with me about my plans for the day while she made my coffee. I've been coming to Dutch Bros for the past seven years (AND OH MY has Dutch Bros has grown)!! To this day, this location has been the heart and soul for my love of Dutch Bros. I always receive the best customer service from each employee behind the stand and drive thru. They inform me of the upcoming specials and promotions within the next week or so which I appreciate because it gives me another excuse to stop on by to get my caffeine. *shrugs* LOL! They also remind me if I have a stamp card, sometimes I forget because...well I need caffeine. GOTTA GET THOSE STAMPS! Lastly, they have created a family/friendly atmosphere for each customer...that's why they have regulars coming back to this location even though there is two other locations within Tempe (near ASU campus and on Rural/Guadalupe). I don't know how they do it but once they know you, they'll remember your usual order even if you switch it up with rebel or coffee. Talk about VIP treatment. LOL! Overall, my husband and I have came to a point where we learned some employees names (like Devin and Camille...Mill Ave customers miss you both so much) and it just made our visits much better. Lastly, I would recommend people leaving their houses 10-15 minutes early if you're planning to stop by here due to the lines. If you never experience Black Friday lines, you're more than welcome to wait in line at DBs because they're similar! Best. Coffee. Ever. The service is fast, the people working there are usually pretty young, but they do a great job getting everything out, being respectful and keeping it fun. Cashier took everyone's order but made myself and two friends wait . Let alone it was my friends birthday. Not apologizing and making excuses is exactly what the cashier did I would rather drive to lemon st or Guadalupe store to avoid the southern and mill location . Completely uncalled for . When she pointed out my attitude I was glad she noticed I was ticked off. I tipped 10$ because I was expecting to spend $. Thanks but no thanks for the discount . Cashier was so pressed she didn't take our order and asked a co worker to take it instead. Quick to apologize she quickly fixed the issue . I absolutely love this place! I always feel so welcome and always have a nice conversation. They always give my dogs treats too which my babies love the coffee is amazing and there's so much to choose from! They even replaced my punch card for me after my car was broken into and gave me extra stamps! I always recommend Dutch Bros to people. read more

I asked if the smoothies had dairy in them. The guy said no just fruit mix and ice. So I ordered two kids smoothies with no whip cream. When I got to the window they asked if we wanted whip cream in the smoothies. Again I said no whip because we're allergic to dairy. She said OK. Then handed me the smoothies. I have mixed feelings about Dutch Bros. I'm from Oregon, where Dutch reigns supreme and is literally on every corner in my small town and STILL has long, long lines. I just say this to emphasize that I understand Dutch comes with a line; however, I still can complain about it. This location is not exempt from the long, long lines, except for at this location you are not only bothered by the "bro-ista" once, but twice, since they have someone taking your order on foot and then another serving you at the window. I'm not sure what I dislike more, the line or the annoying "what are you doing today?" None of your business. I know, what a jerk I am right? But I really don't like it. I do, however, love their coffee! And if they could just add a "grumpy, we won't talk to you" line I'd be totally down for that!! read more

I understand that Dutch is never fast. People talk to the employees and have fun. However, it becomes a huge problem when you can see most employees talking and wasting time with each other while stuck in a long line. The other day I waited over 30 minutes to get close to the front after already waiting and then giving up on the drive through. I have an hour lunch and still needed food, so I had to walk away and I barely made it back to school after my next super speedy drive through. I love Dutch, but I will never return to this location. read more

Pulled up to hear the Spice Girls playing (which instantly put me in a better mood). The girls that worked there were AWESOME. So nice and so helpful. And so upbeat. I myself am a pretty ridiculously upbeat person, so anytime I cross paths with people who are the same it makes me happy. But this place was great for more reasons than that - the coffee was awesome (better than Starbucks just like everyone says) and they have stamp cards and good prices. Usually I always come here cause it's the nearest location and they always do an amazing job with my drinks ! Never have been disappointed but this time I can say I was. I love this coffee stand. The people there are so fun and kind and really brighten my day when I go there. My husband absolutely loves this place, so much so that he is unwilling to make coffee at home because he will miss the people too much ; ) I have to say though the drinks themselves are very inconsistent, sometimes great sometimes not, even though we always order the same thing. There was the usual line , BUT, there is also the super friendly girl who is out there taking orders so one doesn't have to wait too long! Ah, Dutch Brothers I do so love your coffee. But it's more than that. It's the customer service I recieve that makes it a five star experience. I had been going to the location on Rural but I realized that there was another location that was closer to my work and right on the way. The Rural location was a bit out of the way. This location offers the same great customer service. After my 2nd visit their, they knew my order. I usually get a skinny Carmelizer. They coffee is very smooth, not bitter at all. And if you have not had a Carmelizer, you should try one! My other fave is the White Chocolate Mocha. And don't forget Two Stamp Tuesday. Buy 10, get the 11th free! YAY!! read more

WARNING!!! EXTREMELY GROSS AND TERRIBLE CONDITIONS AT THIS LOCATION AND POSSIBLY OTHERS This extremely popular drive thru coffee shop has a major problem with BEES! This is my personal experience and not hearsay! I was standing outside the walk up window and was totally shocked and horrified to see LITERALLY HUNDREDS of bees / wasps just buzzing around inside the little hut and CRAWLING ALL OVER THE OPEN TIPS OF THE FLAVORED SYRUP BOTTLES ! NOT EVEN JOKING OR EXAGGERATING ! I asked about the bees and the guy (who seemed young and kind of an idiot) said there's "nothing they can do about it" !!! What has the health department said about this I wonder! I wish I could take some video and post it, theres so many of what are actually INSECTS crawling all over the tips where the syrup comes out of these bottles, and you go "What kinds of bacteria and other possible pathogens are they spreading?!!!" Very disjointed drive thru line and there was a car at least two car distances back from the last car in line, there was no way to tell he was in line. I accidentally cut in front of him, and he pointed at me, and shamed me! Of course as soon as I realized I went to the end of an increasingly long line. Turns out he works here!
