Haven't been a huge fan of the cake doughnuts here, but the iced yeast doughnuts and the bismarks are to die for! The doughnuts are so filling that I can't really eat more than 1.5, which is a problem when you want to try a bunch of the daily flavors. Unfortunately, these really have to be eaten the day you buy them - they've gone stale by the next morning. read more

Great unique doughnuts. Atmosphere is fun. Staff is polite and accomodating for our baby. Can't wait to check out the boston cream doughnuts when we go back, they were just out of those. My favorite was the bacon wrapped doughnut with warm maple syrup. Oh so good. You will not be dissappointed if you make the trip out to Cumming for these doughnuts. Can't wait to go back. One caveat. The doughnuts do not last beyond a day, so if you bring them home, eat them immediately. read more

When you take two classically trained chefs, who have worked in some of New York's best restaurants, and have them making doughnuts, DMD is what you get - the best doughnuts I've ever had. My two favorites? The fresh raspberry bar, with vanilla cream and loads of fresh raspberries and the fluffer nutter (yeah, I know), with peanut butter cream, marshmallow cream, a drizzle of chocolate sauce and crushed peanuts. So delicious. And apparently I missed out on their S'Mores doughnut. Bummed. DMD needs more 5 star reviews - I've never had doughnuts so good. read more

Amazing!!! My absolute favorite gluten free donuts! (Hubby loved his regular donuts too) The staff was wonderful! They will make special requests if given a day in advance notice. I recently tried a few more of these. The pomegranate iced was just ok. The blueberry cake was very good - probably my second favorite that I've had. I tried maybe one more but the memory is lost in a doughnut haze... Anyway, the lemon meringue is still my favorite by far though. I still have to try that cranberry apple walnut fritter and the maple bacon one though. I like the doughnuts a lot, but I still think the yeast doughnuts are a little too tough and chewy though. If they could lighten them up a bit their doughnuts would really be excellent. 4 read more

Such a random AWESOME donut shop in the small town of Cumming, GA. I was visiting family here last year when my cousin told me about this donut shop. And boy, it impressed me! They had all sorts of unique donuts, all of which tasted good! What we ordered: Maple Bar Chocolate Iced Caramel Apple Fritter Salted Caramel Bar Nutella Twist Bacon donut The Dutch Monkey (dulce de leche-filled, with bananas and chocolate on top) - my favorite, I'm salivating as I'm writing this.... Overall, my food tastiness experience: I give it 4 stars for yummy flavors and perfectly chewy donuts! Side note: I was craving these donuts so badly that I made my cousin take me here on our way to the airport to drop me off.... I almost missed my flight, lol. I was literally that weird person running through the airport with all her luggage and a box of donuts, and then asking all the patrons if it was okay if I cut the security check line because I was late.... I know I know.... I'm ashamed of myself. I'm normally a very good flyer. And on top of that, I had actually dropped my passport while running and had to run back the other way to look for it... Incredible doughnuts! An attorney in my office brought them in and we all had foodgasms! They were amazing! So much better than what you get from Krispy Creme or Dunkin. I would highly recommend them! I especially loved the Lemon Bismark! The lemon custard inside is delectable. Also, the bacon maple is hard to resist! read more

Wonderful little place. If they offered a French press coffee, it would be perfect. There are already descriptions and pictures here of most of their standards. What I like about them, aside from their creativity, is their ability to make doughnuts that taste really good without being sickeningly sweet. The Counter Culture coffee is good, as well. It's best to show up in the morning both for the selection and the freshness. read more

I've been coming here for about 9 years. The quality of their pastries are phenomenal. Everything is handmade with no preservatives. You can even watch them make the doughnuts through the window to the kitchen. Their options change daily. My favs are their cake doughnuts. Yummy! read more

Once you try an independent doughnut shop you'll never go back to a chain, unless it's Krispy Kreme with the hot sign on. Doughnuts are made fresh daily and the selection varies by day as well. I tried the chocolate glazed with vanilla bean filling. It was one of the best doughnuts I've had in a long time. They also have Illy coffee which is a nice change from some of the other brands. I love Korean bakeries and this is one of the few "American" places that really makes me want to come back for something sweet. Be careful if you're on a diet. You'll want to try one of everything this place makes. read more

The first couple of times I stopped by Dutch Monkey I was sorely disappointed with the service; the personal touch was missing. I finally returned and found the service much better; the staff smiled, and they seemed like they had a better handle on how to handle a customer. The doughnuts are spectacular, even comparable to Sublime Doughnuts (can't believe I just said that!). They even have a great brew of coffee, which it seems boutique doughnut shops struggle with. The maple bar was great. Girlfriend said that the coffee here was excellent. If you want ice water, be sure to bring your own cup or they will charge you $.25. The only reason I'm knocking one star off is the tables were all in need of cleaning, and the trashcan was overflowing. read more

Delicious, grab-a-giant-glass-of-milk, a fork, and a sharp knife kind of donuts. Dense, sugary, and extremely filling, so be careful not to over order. They have a different menu each day and only stay open until they sell out, and once something is gone it's gone, but try (if you can) to get the chocolate cream pie bismarcks, caramel apple fritters, outies, and/or red velvet cake donuts. Way OTP and a little tough to get to for my intown friends, but luckily for us situated very near our best friends' house. We'll be back again and again. read more

This place is too cute. I've been wanting to come here for a long time but donuts aren't a regular thing for me. After running at the greenway this morning, my mom mentioned she wanted coffee. I reminded her that last time we got coffee in the area from a fast food place, it wasn't any good. I remembered this place and how I've wanted to try it and we headed over. There was a vast assortment, something to please everyone. I was really wanting to try the smores since I heard everyone else ordering it, but I opted for the buttermilk cake to keep it simple. Mom got the coffee buttercream, and we each had a coffee. The buttermilk cake was perfect. Not too sweet and it was a very moist and delicious texture. Her coffee buttercream was very rich and yummy, I had to try a bite. Coffee was good too but I would've liked to see a fat free or non dairy creamer option instead of just half and half. They have some merchandise for sale with their logo on it, tervis tumblers (OMG, CUTE) and t shirts. Pretty busy place on a Sunday morning but the line moved along quickly. I travel to my fare share of interesting places. But I must admit that this place in my back yard takes the donuts to a level of perfection that would rival a French pastry chef. The donut called the "dutch monkey" really is an insult to call it a donut. Its an extremely rich custard filling blended with real banana, followed by a pastry and fresh banana slices topped by dark chocolate. Usually places like this asking for a macchiato would get you a rather disappointing coffee. But not only was my espresso a short pull on the machine, but the milk was poured in the shape of leaf. This is not a donut shop, this is not an espresso shop, or a French Bakery. They have created something wonderfully different. read more

This place is magical and adorable and delicious and they have punch cards. So basically there is nothing not to like. The Dutch Monkey is probably my favorite. Not too sweet. The Maple Bacon was a pleasant surprise. It's savory, and it comes with a cute little tub of buttery syrup. The Strawberry Bars are also delicious, but they will put you into an immediate sugar coma so please be careful. And the coffee is good. read more
