They installed both new A/C and replaced existing furnace. They installed new furnace in attic which provides additional room in our garage. Everything they did was very professional. They asked all the questions regarding actions they took and explained everything as they proceeded on the installation. I really appreciate they brought in enough staff to complete the project in one day. There were 15 staff involved in all aspects of the installation and removal. I bought a new AC for my home COSTCO and got an AZ Air conditioning referral. My designated project consultant was Jermaine Kelly who was very professional in explaining how the system worked and the benefits. After the unit installation, AZ service went downhill. I took AZ 6 months to complete the job which included following through with the City Inspector's safety recommendations. The poor customer service ranged from missed appointment dates to admitted poor communication. AZ was great when it came to installation of the unit. It is the follow-up service that I am complaining about. read more

We contracted AZ Air to install central A/C. The process was a little rocky but AZ Air was persistent in getting it installed correctly and obtaining the city's permit. Shortly after installation the control board on the furnace, which also controls the new A/C unit, died. It was not clear whether this was due to the new A/C unit or power surges or simply age. Nonetheless, Tony Osman, AZ's Service Manager, went to bat on our behalf and installed a new control board at no charge. Tony and his team was diligent in making sure everything got done correctly. They were professional and responsive, and I highly recommend AZ Air to others. read more

I hired A Z Air Conditioning & Heating to investigate a problem I was having with my air conditioner last summer. The serviceman arrived on time and was friendly. He discovered the 20+ year old motor in my unit needed to be replaced. He offered up several pricing estimates before doing the work, and also gave me labor costs up front. He took the time to investigate any other potential issues and even threw in free hardware and a replacement part for my fan. What I liked most about this company is they gave me options and did not rush me into making the repair. They did not pull out any hard sale tactics. These guys seemed honest. AC unit not working so AZ Replaced a control board and charged... $1550.00 the next day AC unit not working again AZ were called back out. great response again. BUT...AZ said 2 more control boards were bad and charged me $750 to bypass them.. and told us, it would be another $825 to fix..the boards... So I paid $2300.00 for one board..and 4 or 5 hours of labor.. Watch out for this company.. Charges $350++ per hour.. But fast Response time. I would too at these rates. no info on workorders. I'm sure they do fine work, but this is a company that gets its contracts through Costco (and possibly other big box retailers). So right off the bat you know that Costco has to get their cut somehow. They sent over a slick salesman who did not have price sheets (at least with a price sheet we know he's not making numbers up based on how naive we look) and, after writing down an exorbitant quote for the unit (around $10k for the unit), he proceeded to use a variety of high pressure sales tactics and gimmicks (e.g., a free air purifier, no tax, free WiFi operated controls, cash discount, Costco gift card, etc) that brought the quote down to effectively under $8k. Oh, but if we don't act before April 15, they will charge us sales tax and there's a 6% price increase! I assume a lot of people fall for these tactics. So it was like $7,800 if we bought today, but if I called one week later they'd charge me $10,100? Yeah right. The salesman said nothing about the quality of the unit, the SEER rating, whether we could do with a smaller unit or should upgrade to a larger one, etc. Instead, he cracked jokes like we were clueless marks (e.g. "3 tons doesn't refer to how heavy it is!"). Do your self a favor and find a reputable company not associated with a big box retailer to get some quote comparisons. read more

Believe the bad reviews and stay away from these people! First, it took 3 attempts and 9 days to get an appointment just for an evaluation- felt like I was dealing with the DMV! When the guy finally got there, I told him I needed to change my 30-year-old AC unit to a newer version of equivalent size and quality. He INSISTED that we had to SIT DOWN for 60-90 minute consultation, and was set on filling out an 8-page questionnaire he brought with him. The two reputable companies that came before him took 10 minutes to give me a quote, without wasting my time, but this guy was dead set on his agenda. He asked questions like "did your unit stop heating too? or just cooling?" And "are you planning to do any more remodeling in your house?" I finally stopped him, saying these questions were irrelevant, as I am looking to replace the AC and all I needed from him was a quote. I then reminded him that since he showed up 40 minutes late to his appointment, and his company had called me 3 times (no joke) the day before to make sure I'd be available between 2-3, technically he only had 20 minutes left of our scheduled time to do all his evaluation and estimation. At this point, he got flustered and said perhaps he should come back another time (think again!), and actually said "Good luck, because you're going to need it". Needless to say I escorted him out. I stopped to think to myself- do I really want to deal with these people, who have shown to be hard to reach, inconsiderate of my wishes, and rude- even BEFORE they have my business? Let's say I save a couple of hundred bucks installing with them. What happens when there is a problem with the unit and I need to call them in? Do I even dare think what my experience could be like then? No, thank you! I'm going with one of the other reputable companies who treated me as a valued customer. read more

The a/c unit in my house has one of their stickers on it so when I discovered a sewer gas smell coming from the a/c vents from time to time when the air is running I called them to ask if I could speak with a technician over the phone for a quick minute to ask if it could possibly be associated with the a/c or if I should call a plumber instead. The person who answered the phone was nice but said that the only way I could ask that question was to schedule a $99 service call. I could not speak with a technician. I have no problem paying for service but I don't want to schedule and pay an HVAC guy to come out just to tell me in 30 seconds that I need a plumber instead. I am disappointed they couldn't do more to help me determine if I needed their service. read more

The workers were so professional! Even in hot weather and our tight attic, they were extremely hardworking! They made certain that everything in my home from floor to ceiling was protected from debris and damage. They were also so meticulous in cleaning up after the job was finished. What an awesome crew! Also, Ashton, their sales rep who came out to our house, was so pleasant and professional! He didn't try to scam or use any pressure-sale tactics on us. These guys did not at all fit any negative Yelp comments or descriptions from other customers. It also helps that AZ is a vendor to a trust-worthy company like Costco. My thermostat is off yet my ac is blasting cold air with a unit that az air installed. I've called multiple times over the last several hours as I have a toddler and a pregnant wife. It's now 130 in the morning and all the lady can say is she will keep trying to reach the technician. This is unacceptable and beyond disappointing. This was the worst experience I could had. The quality of work was among the poorest. The sub-contractor's worker was insane. I ask for a receipt via email, the manager said yes. His worker stormed into my house, stomping his feet in my face screaming "we don't do that you can forget it. I told him, I would call the police if he didn't leave my property. The condition of my tenants closet ceilings and wall had to be done by amateurs. There was a huge hole in the ceiling, with a silver duct clumsily taped with blue paint tape falling down. They tried to pressure me to sign the contract. One of their guys pretended he was from Costco. Their are still outstanding issues, 3 long wires sticking up towards the sky with electric tape wrapped around them. The thermostat is not working at this time from freezing to 85 degree all in one night. It would not respond to the programs or dials. I m waiting for follow up. If they don't respond soon, I will call Costco again, who told them to fix the problem before. I would not recommend them to anyone at all. Consider yourself warned. We purchased a new Air Conditioning and Heating Unit through Costco. I was nervous due to the price and difficultly to install. We live in a 3 story condo and the unit had to be installed on the roof. Happy to say I have been extremely pleased with the results after working with this company for several years now. The install was flawless and they provide tremendous yearly maintenance. Joseph, the main technician who services our area, is incredibly knowledgeable regarding the unit and very patient with any questions I have. He also does a very detailed job cleaning the system. I contacted Costco a second time and scheduled again, and AZ Air Conditioning did not call and did not show up again. It's been a long time since we had our AC systems looked at (25 years). Enough that we finally wanted to have someone take a look at them. Found AZ services with the referral from Costco. I was quite pleased about both parties' responsiveness to schedule a maintenance check within 2-3 business days and determine what were some of the major issues affecting the operations of the unit. The maintenance guy described the various issues, including environmental issues with the old systems and helped to setup a free quote look for the next day. Decisions were ultimately made to replace the old systems, fulfilling a request for quick service tailored to our needs (during early spring - non-peak time and pricing considerations). Their process with the permits was completed without haste. With the replacement of 3 systems (plus ducting and other issues), a team of about 12, led by Manuel V, arrived to complete the work. The expected project completion was 1-2 days, but they worked longer to complete it in 1 (with some longer hours and that if it worked for us). The team was amazing and very professional. There was a plan to the project, how the teams were split and how they would complete their tasks. They were courteous and informed us of what they were doing and any issues or particulars we needed to understand about the work. The team manager also worked to understand our needs and concerns with the older systems. The team techie showed us how to program the thermostats and how to access them online. It was also pleasing to see him teaching a few of the others how the thermostats work - hands-on knowledge sharing. I could see the effort from the top and the bottom to ensure a good service delivery now and in the future. At the end, the team cleaned up quite well inside and outside. Systems are running perfectly, quietly and efficiently. The additional ability to control the thermostats if we have forgotten to turn them off before leaving the house is a plus. Martiza in the office has provided good follow-up and follow-through for getting questions answered or concerns addressed. Overall, we are pleased with the results and have learned more about how to take care of the new systems. Ultimately, the entire process - from request through Costco, maintenance check and installation completion all happened within one week. We plan to have the company help with regular maintenance checks in the future. read more

Az air told me I needed a new air conditioner or a $3200 repair on my current unit. I called another company and the problem was a faulty contactor which az air had installed. The repair cost me $160. To make matters worse AZ refused to refund me the money I had paid already. Stay away from AZ Air! read more

AZ installed our A/C system through Costco about 7 years ago. The company has done maintenance twice a year since then at reasonable prices and I was satisfied with their work up to this point. A capacitor failed on the unit recently and I was charged about $550 to replace this $50 part. The work took less than 2 hours. The service tech also recommended a "hard start kit" which cost another $400 to install a second $50 part and was part of the total 2-hour labor. (My unit was down and it was raining and cold so I felt I had to get it fixed immediately.) The charges seemed excessive (or perhaps a mistake) so I called AZ to talk to a manager. No one would return my call. So I emailed the tech who did the work and asked him to have a manager call to discuss. No one from AZ reached out to me. I'm a good customer for goodness sakes so I'm at least expecting a return call. I'm in the process of searching for another vendor to maintain our HVAC in Marina del Rey. read more

Customer service is not on their priority list. My husband and I requested a quote from Costco, to replace our AC system, and sales reps from AZ arrived and their presentation was great. We decided to contract the company and on the day of installation, the installers arrived on time and there were no problems until they vanished without notifying me. It was a Friday and according to the sales rep, "We don't work on weekends". We didn't expect them to return on Saturday but my husband and I were NOT happy for the following reasons: 1. Trash was left in front of my home 2. Construction items were left on side of my home 3. Some of the vents were unleveled 4. No one bother to notify me the crew was leaving We immediately sent messages to sales rep asking about the status. After no response, we sent pictures of items needed to be fix but NO ONE returned call or texts. The following day, the crew returned. We had to modify our Saturday schedule which was inconvenient for us. It has been two weeks and we have not heard from the sales reps. No response from reps leads to believe I can't trust the company if i need their business again. read more

Billy C. just performed my 2016 service inspection and I'm extremely pleased with he quality of his work. He was punctual, performed a complete and thorough inspection and provided a number of "no pressure" recommendations for my consideration. I had AZ installed a new HVAC system including duct work on the attic 6 months ago. They suggested a system that qualifies for California energy upgrade rebate that saves me about $1500. Total cost was about $16000. the crew was professional and finished the job in almost the full day. We had about 4 or 5 times of inspection to check the system installed has passed the standard for the rebate. We finally got the check from the rebate about 5 months after the install. Overall it is a pleasure experience and I will recommend AZ to others. read more

STAY AWAY. We found this company through a Costco Kiosk. We purchased a $24,000 HVAC system. The contract included that AZ would obtain all inspections and permits. Although the contract says all inspections and final permit approval will be obtained in 4-8 weeks after installation, we are now at 7 months without final approval. The installation has failed inspection twice now and during the install a worker put his foot through the ceiling in the hallway (from the attic). There have been long delays in getting things remedied. So far, a structural engineering report was needed since they moved the furnace into the attic and didn't know such report would be necessary. Then, a separate attic access needed to be put in (done months later since no one at AZ would respond to our requests). The most recent inspection was July 3, 2017 and they failed again. The inspector wants a drywall barrier in the attic between the garage area and the area where they put the furnace to prevent a fire from spreading in the attic. By not properly installing the furnace in the attic, AZ has left us with a fire and safety hazard. We want them to fix the problems identified on the most recent inspection and get final approval on the permit, but they are refusing. They are abandoning the job without final inspection approval. read more

My husband and I are new home owners or rather, tiny condo owners. Our AC and Furnace were the original and not up to code. We knew at some point we would have to do something about it and figured it would add value to our home. While at Costco we picked up info for Lennox and had a consult. He came out and was very thorough. Explained everything and gave us a connection to have the asbestos taken care of first. The men from AZ showed up on time. Big deal since I took the day off to be there. Professional and their lead kept me informed on everything or anything that needed to be done etc. They draped pretty much my entire (little) home in plastic to protect our things. Put back any furniture that needed moving, wiped up our floors before they left, showed us how to operate the system, even patched drywall where our thermostat was moved. Had to put in a new intake upstairs and I have to say, it looks great. Our place is just over 800 sq ft., so my only complaint is, I am pretty sure we could provide heat and AC to our entire condo complex. I think it is way more than what we needed and I am adjusting to the sound (of wind) due to the shear force and power of our unit. Or maybe we were just used to the old crappy one but still, I do think its more than we needed for such a tiny place. Otherwise, I sing praises so far. Good job. The inspection will be soon and hopefully it will go just as well. read more

I cannot say enough good things about AZ. These guys (and gals) came through for us in every way possible. Starting from our initial call with Costco for their Lennox special, we were introduced to AZ. I interviewed extensively 4 different companies and ended up ultimately selecting AZ and Costco to do a heating and air install. We put these guys through the ringer for over probably a 4-6 week period (glad they are not writing a YELP on us!). Ryan, the sales lead, who is amazing, and THE most responsive person I have ever dealt with (he would probably text a response to you as he was sky diving out of an airplane!), answered probably 100 questions of mine and came back to my house 4-5 times total. In addition, as we labored over where to put the AC units, we had Jeff, the lead tech, and Kevin, the awesome electrician, come out to our house as well. These guys truly problem solved and found solutions that were not readily apparent in order to avoid unsightly cords and refrigerant lines from scaling our house. Finally, when installation day came, install didn't get our last minute change to put the units on our roof and were once again having to brainstorm electrical and more importantly the AC curbs that go on the roof to hold the units. Since none of their stock curbs would fit they went on to BUILD FROM SCRATCH custom curbs that day and the next. The install took 2.5 days and not one time during any of this process did anyone behave anything but beyond professional. I have AZ come and service my A/C every year to keep it clean and working...I referred them to friends and family as well. When I had an issue with my repair insurance who claimed my unit was dirty (it was not!) - I asked ZAC the owner of AZ to call them and clear up that I was serviced and cleaned every year...He did! Plus sent out a service person to take pics of my roof unit for proof. I love these guys! In the 7 or 8 years I have used them, they have NEVER tried to upsell me...they did make recommendations to a couple of friends I referred, but they have very old units and I believe the recommendations were warranted, and not just an attempt to upsell. I have 3 neighbors that also use them (we arrange appointments together so one tech comes and services all of us same day) and they also have never been asked to buy or service anything (cause it wasnt needed) -- HIGHLY RECOMMEND this company. The central air in our newly purchased condo in Los Angeles was very old and needed to be replaced (both cooling and heating). The heat pump condenser on the roof with its condensate line, refrigeration line, electric cable, and switch box were all rusted and the air handler (fan coil) inside the unit was also in a poor shape. On top of that, the air handler was located inside the ceiling in the unit entry area with no access to the equipment (all dry walled by previous owner). This was rather a complicated job especially with our time window being about a week. In the mean time, the condo had to be re-painted so the HVAC replacement job had to be coordinated with the paint job. I got two written estimates with looking at the condo and one estimate over the phone. I liked both companies that gave me written estimates, but I easily chose the AZ Air Conditioning and Heating, Inc. located in Van Nuys. First of all, they are Costco Contractors and they are recommended by Costco. Second, they install Lennox equipment with 10 years equipment warranty and 5 years labor warranty. The other contractors offered only one year labor warranty. Third, there was a very generous Costco cash card rebate offer that made AZ overall estimate competitive. Forth, I was impressed with Matt (AZ Comfort Consultant). He was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and friendly, and above all understood my time constraint. He explained to me how they will cut the dry wall and replace the pancake air handler unit (made by First Company) and then install a panel for future access. They will fix the ceiling and make it ready to be painted. Additionally, AZ will get a city permit for the job. The next day, Raul and his two-man crew arrived at the place at 8:00 AM (as promised) and started the HVAC replacement job. They were simply OUTSTANDING. Raul paid so much attention to the details and made sure everything was done correctly and neatly. I was really impressed with their professionalism, knowledge, and attention to details. The job was not easy, but they were equipped and ready for it. They covered the hardwood floors and cleaned the whole area after the job was done. As Matt told me, they replaced everything in the central air system including a new Honeywell touch screen digital state of the art thermostat, a new safety switch, and new circuit breakers. They almost completed the job on the same day, but unfortunately, the ordered panel was a little small for the area. No problem, Raul measured the area and ordered a new panel including a vent area for the intake to be installed the next day. As promised, Raul and his crew came to my place and installed a new panel, patched the ceiling and made it ready to be painted. Again, they were really EXCELLENT. I am so glad I chose AZ for my HVAC job. This was a really good decision. I am sure all the AZ crews are good, but I will always ask for Raul. The AZ Air Conditioning and Heating did an extremely excellent job for me and I sincerely thank Matt, Raul and his crew, and Doreen and Jennifer (who were so nice and helped me with the appointments and schedule reminders) for a job well-done. I also thank Zach and Joe for running such an outstanding HVAC company in Los Angeles area. I truly appreciate the wonderful job you did for us. I strongly will and have already recommended AZ to friends and I will definitely come back to AZ for future HVAC-related work. I had a new central heating/AC system installed in an older house. There were issues of existing duct size, access, and siting. I was impressed with the salesperson's (David) knowledge of his products, and optimization of the system layout and component choice. The installation crew was also excellent. They arrived on time, covered all of the furniture with plastic, and protected the flooring with tarps. All of this protection was really just insurance since they were very careful to control the dust by sealing the area where they made cuts through the wall or floor. The installation of the components was very well thought out by the foreman. All the components were suspended in the attic to control noise and vibration. Power and plumbing routing were also very well done--the installation was so good that it could have been part of the original construction. Everything was very well hidden--it wasn't done the easy way by running pipe/conduit on outside walls. The whole, very extensive, installation was done in one day. Pricing, with the Costco rebates, was lower than my other quote. I had a third quote, but the contractor was obviously incompetent. I am very happy with the system. I scheduled a routine service call for the 3 Lennox Heat/Air Conditioning systems that I have in my three unit apartment building. The technician arrived right on time and was GREAT. While the tech was here he introduced me to a very comprehensive annual service contract that covers so much and the AZ customer relations manager called me to explain in detail all the components of the contract. AZ heating and air conditioning installed my NEW XC25 system , Damien was amazing and very knowledable helping me pick a unit for my home and family . Everything went exceptionally well ,from the beginning of signing a contract to installation .Installation team showed up on time and worked non stop until they finished the job .
