I don't usually write reviews, but this one is 100% deserved. I had two different HVAC companies come out before John from NextGen, and both told me I basically needed a major repair or full replacement. One said the motherboard needed to be replaced, another said the refrigerant was low and leaking, and both were steering me toward spending $4,000+ or just buying a new unit. Then John showed up -- and it was a completely different experience. He actually took the time to properly diagnose the system instead of jumping to the most expensive option. He identified that the issue was mainly the capacitors and a failing motor, and even pointed out that the way the unit was installed had caused stress on the motor over time. That's something neither of the other companies even mentioned. Instead of upselling, he said straight up: "This is a simple fix. You don't need a new unit." He: * Replaced the motor * Fixed the underlying installation issue * Replaced the capacitors * Cleaned the inside of the unit * Sealed gaps to improve performance Everything was done quickly, cleanly, and professionally, and at a very reasonable price compared to what others quoted. What stood out the most was his honesty. He could have easily pushed for a full replacement like the others, but instead he saved me thousands of dollars. If you're dealing with AC issues and don't want to get upsold into unnecessary work, I highly recommend asking for John from NextGen. Another good experience with Next Gen. Yesterday, John came out to figure out what is causing the loud noise when we turn on the heater. Found out what the problem was and ordered the parts. Today, he came back and replaced the broken part. I also had him replace our old thermostat. Since he left the house more than two/three hours ago, I still have the heater on without any noise and working fine. read more

We went through 3 lousy and expensive (more like a rip off ) HVAC company before finding NextGen. Our AC broke for the third time. We had a company come out to diagnose and quoted for repair but I wanted another quote. Quick story: I remember in an inspection for a house I sold for a buyer as a real estate agent, the inspector was very impressed with the new HVAC units but installed (there were 3 zones). NextGen came up and the listing agent said they are the best. NOW Back to the second quote. I finally remembered to call NextGen. Greg picked up the phone. Not an office person. I told him directly what happened. Not only did he get the part on hold, he offered us a lower quote than the first company. Since we opened our grooming business at Wiggles Pet Spa, we need our filters changed and cleaned every 3 months because of all the dog hair that gets collected in the vents! NGreg has been coming out to our business and does a great job at making sure we're breathing clean air! And it gets pretty dusty/hairy up there! THIS COMPANY IS A COMPLETE MESS..... They have wasted my time on 3 different occassions telling me that either the tech was delayed on the job before me or that they had a bunch of tech's call in sick. I rescheduled twice after the original date the latest one was to between 8am - 10am - guaranteed me it was the first appointment. Now they text me at 9:50am and say they need to reschedule.... SERIOUS - find a better more professional company. They are a mess... unfortunately because they have a routing service I don't know which location they were supposed to come from for West Hollywood. I noticed the secondary outlet spout putting out condensation from the AC and contacted this company. The next day Greg came out and said my line was clogged and that the system was old but if I added a "booster" kit to the unit, that I can buy myself a few more years. Not being a HVAC professional, I took his word for it and the service was performed. The following morning, we attempted to utilize the AC and NOTHING came out except warm air.... Greg did not do any system check before leaving and did not thoroughly look at the system. After multiple calls to acquire a technician or for him to come out and assess, they contacted me 4 days later (in a heat wave) only to say the "refrigerate" was empty now and needing replacement given the age of the system and also the chemical used is no longer allowed legally, I was stuck. If Greg did his job appropriately and did a proper check the first time around, I wouldn't have wasted $1000 for items I don't need (an up charge plot) and then to recommend changing out the entire system for 20K. Terrible service, would not recommend. Do your homework and go elsewhere. read more

Yesterday I had a gas leak under my home, which cased The Gas Company to shut my gas off. I needed a reliable service, at a reasonable cost, to arrive immediately, diagnose the leak precise location and repair the issue. The Professionals of NextGen arrived very quickly the day I called them, found out the issue, and made sure to correct the problem (helped by additional technicians they brought to the site later that day). I was very satisfied with their service which met all the necessary requirements allowing The Gas Co. to turn our home heating and cooking gas back last night (shortly after NextGen team completed its mission). It was a 30 year old unit, so i assumed after talking with multiple companies, that replacing the unit with a new one would be the best course of action. I had several companies come down to give estimates on a new unit, after i explained the problem. John, from Nextgen, was the ONLY guy, who asked to take a look at my old unit, just to confirm the issue. To my surprise, he found the issue, and fixed it. What a guy! What service! The first thing to take note of is that there is a competitor that spells its name slightly differently called NEXGEN and this recommendation should not confuse the two. Greg is the owner of Nextgen and he came to me through a recommendation which turned out to be highly accurate. Over the last 25 years I have been doing business with a very large Heating & Air Conditioning company that ended up being sold to a large conglomerate. My heating system broke down and when the old company came to review the situation They ended up recommending completely redoing my entire heating air conditioning system at cost of approximately $25,000. I won't go into the details except to say that I felt as though I was now doing business with a classic used car salesman approach in which I was inaccurately told that the system could not be repaired. That's when I called Greg and he graciously came checked out the entire system, put in a new circuit board for a little over $2000 and everything has been working very well for the last four months without a hitch. The main take away is that Greg was totally honest in his assessment of the situation and came to the rescue competently and at a fair and just price. My HVAC unit was 17 years old and literally falling apart at the seams. Luis got me set up with a great deal on a brand-new unit, including an electric heater to replace gas and an airscrubber (pets!). After reading, and reading, and vetting through all of the Yelp reviews for A/C service and support, I opted to call NextGen and wow, am I happy I did! So easy to schedule on line - they were at my house the next morning without delay. The tech that came to my home (Jonny!) was super prompt, friendly, professional and kept me informed throughout the entire process. Not only that, he had up-to-date sparkling new bluetooth equipment which he connected to a variety of areas on both my A/C and heater...he showed me (zero mansplaining, just the facts) the readings of each and every item he checked and not only that, sent me 15 photos to document the stats for future reference. Objective data is important with quality diagnostic tools and I have no doubt or concern his tools were calibrated correctly; data doesn't lie. His tools weren't anything less than 100% accurate - after the readings, he would show me how a part was in dire need of support (expanded capacitor was def no bueno for my struggling A/C!). As if that wasn't enough, I was provided with a very fair price for the work performed - which in comparison to the reviews from competitors for similar work I have seen here in Yelp, resulted in a relative cost savings to me. His work was first class and while he did offer other services, there was zero pressure and he did reassure me what the bare minimum was needed to keep things going smoothly. He also cleaned my A/C coils....he did such a great job and took his time doing it right. I really appreciate that. First rate service all the way. I always say that you can't hire people to care, but yep, NextGen has done a GREAT job finding and hiring top shelf, talented, honest experienced people - these guys truly do care about the satisfaction and safety of their customers.
