I've been to DV8 Kitchen twice now, and enjoyed both visits. It's a bit on the smaller side once you get in, but we'll say 'cozy'. I got both my orders to go, which were quick and seating was no issue even if I had stayed. On my second visit, I discussed the ideology behind their 'second chance employment' theme they have with employees. I very much support this idea, which was an extra inducement to get me there. They bake their own breads themselves, including their excellent biscuits, and use fresh, all natural ingredients to make impressive sandwiches, salads and breakfast items. They offer gluten-free bread. I've had the All-Day Breakfast burger and the Southern biscuits with sausage gravy. I ordered the burger on a biscuit, while you can also get it on one of their house made breads. The burger comes with a fried egg, bacon and caramelized onions, cheddar cheese, dijonnaise, lettuce and tomato. It was enough by itself for lunch. It's one delicious, savory sandwich. And B&G (biscuits and gravy) are very close to my heart, having grown up on them. Finding a place that makes it right, with flaky buttermilk style biscuits and gravy that is actually served hot and no too salty is trickier than you might think. They do it right. Nice chunks of sausage in a gravy over a fresh, flaky biscuit. They also serve at least three different salads (chicken, strawberry and the DV8 salad) and other sandwiches like the Orange Marmalade chicken, and I look forward to trying some of those. You order at the counter and your name is called once your food it ready. DV8 also offers bread to take home, with a sourdough loaf, and make crazy good cinnamon rolls. Prices are fair, with sandwiches and salads around $7-$7.50. So give it a try, I say, and help those who need a hand, while supporting a small local business. Next time I'll try to remember to take some pictures, but I usually eat it all too fast to think about it, cuz it's that good. read more

I've been here twice so far and both times the food was crazy delicious and service was friendly and professional. The huevos rancheros sandwich, biscuits and sausage gravy, and especially the all day burger were all excellent. I spoke with one of the managers who also took my order and told him I appreciate the quality of the food and service, and I wanted to tell him I support their efforts there. DV8 works to help people with a past of substance abuse by providing them with work and support so they can get their lives on track and hopefully have positive and productive futures. The sandwiches were served on a brioche bun and a southern biscuit, both baked fresh at DV8. The dishes were well prepared, with the burger cooked right to order with the scrambled eggs plentiful and not overcooked. The huevos sandwich was great for a late breakfast, and the sausage gravy was hot and savory without being overly salted. Prices are fair, with sandwiches and salads ranging from mostly $6-$7. My rating combines service, quality of food ,and their efforts to help others right their ships. read more

The croissant was buttery and flaky, just the way I like it, and the chicken salad was perfectly creamy with a nice crunch--exactly what I was hoping for! While the food was on point, the service wasn't exactly something to write home about. It was fine, just nothing that stood out. Let's just say, it got the job done--kinda like how my dad handles the grill at family cookouts: not bad, but no fireworks either! But hey, if you're after a tasty sandwich and a cozy atmosphere, DV8 still checks the right boxes. Great Food, but even better service! This business really stepped up and helped out a local hospital in a pinch. We ordered food from another establishment for a retirement party and they cancelled our order last minute and I had no food for 70ish people. I called DV8 in desperation and they delivered enough sandwiches for all of my people by 1130 am (I called at 10am). They not only delivered the food but helped me get it upstairs and set up. They will always have my business and respect. read more

Awesome vibes here, very great decoration. You can find all traditional American dishes there but they also offer more than that, and service is great! Staffs are nice and patient. Coffee and desserts are so good. The portion is big and price is reasonable, so you can always get feed. The breakfast just like the brunch, very big amount which makes me very satisfied. My favorites are the Country Ham & Swiss Sandwich and the Kentucky Colonel Boy (which is Country Ham and housemade fried chicken tenders and Swiss Cheese) and the Shrimp PoBoy. Beautiful atmosphere and it is a place that everyone should try at least once! It is also a great place to visit if you are visiting Lexington. A must try kind of place.
