Was brought here by someone who had been wanting and waiting a long time for me to try them. Had an outing to Main Street and figured "Hey! Why not?!" It's a pretty simple menu, which is perfect for a snack shack type place on the beach boardwalk. Pretty cool that it's been there so long. I know people old and my age who rave about this place and that's pretty cool.

After a few hours ofsurfing, I come here to eat. I love it. No wait, the food comes out quickly, and reasonable prices. It's a great food stand close to the beach and love that you don't have to leave the sandy beach area to get to some food. It's a peaceful atmosphere and it's kept clean.I love their hotdog! It comes out HOT and FRESH. It's a thicker sausage than your standard limp hotdog. There is also a condiments station where you can put relish on. I love relish with the dog. I also love their ice surf city freeze smoothies!!! Both flavors are good- the mango and berry. I'm addicted to how Icey they are. So refreshing. Their ice cream hard shell dip cone is also very good.

Big improvement with the service. Prices are what you might expect from a beach concession stand. The food was average. The burger patty was bland and you're relying on the condiments to make it taste decent. They have relish, onions and jalapeños at the condiment station.

Dwight's is located on the boardwalk near the Huntington Beach Pier. We stopped by after brunch at Duke's because our kids saw their giant "shaved ice" sign. My kids can't resist an opportunity for shaved ice! Their eyes turned as big as saucers when they saw how big the portions were, not that they minded at all. The ice itself is super crunchy though and not that easy to chip away at. They have your usual shaved ice flavors such as blue raspberry, cherry, strawberry, etc.

Sorry it was so good I finished it already

I first discovered this place back in the late 1970's My father and uncle were lifeguards for 17 years and they use to eat here back then. My brother and I loved this place and looked forward to eating here every summer. Then I was a JR lifeguard for 8 years in HB I visited this place all the time. Then I was an actual lifeguard for a year or two and again I got to eat here. Now I bring my kids here and they love the Strips & cheese. In fact it's safe to say my kids have the same awesome memories about this place just like my brother and I have. I remember watching the old man back in the 1980's drive his 1950's VW Bug up the bike trail every morning. Now his son is the old man and his kid is my age and runs Jack's snack bar a half mile south. Actually I think it's his kid that runs it now. 4 generations of people running two snack bars on the beach for over 75 years. The strips and cheese is my favorite and if you have never had them before you are really missing out. Thank you for all the great memories and the really yummy food Jack!

Visited on a day that they weren't cooking on the grill, only options were things that could be cooked in the fryer or the cheese strips. Made options very limited. The world famous item is just tortilla strips with Shredded Cheese and red sauce, but they were tasty!

Meh. You see a sign that says "world famous" and you must stop and ask yourself, is this something I must try? Unfortunately, this could have been a pass. Tortilla chips, topped with shredded cheddar cheese and then you dump the taco sauce on top. I think it would have been better if the cheese was melted or the sauce was hot (temperature), but the cheese and sauce were cold. And the sauce was a little sweet. Not my thing. I think it would have been better with Taco Bell sauce. Sorry. I recommend you keep on riding by.

What happened to the spicy ketchup with the strips with cheese? It tastes like sweet unseasoned marinara sauce and I wanted to cry.

Such a disappointment!!…read more I have been a fan of both Jacks and Dwight's for almost 50 years. Because Dwight's is still closed I stopped by here a few weeks ago craving "Strips & Cheese" The girl at the counter told me they were out of cheese. WHAT!! That's a first for me! OK so not cheese so I guess no Strips and Cheese! The girl at the counter was clueless, I even asked her if the owner was in and she said no, then I asked if the owner was aware that they didn't have any cheese because I have met the owner several times and I know that he would fix this situation right away. The girl at the counter just shrugged her shoulders and said nothing. Yesterday, the wife and kids went to the beach and again we stoped in for some strips. There was no line to order but there were 5 or 6 unhappy people waiting for their food. 25 minutes later we got our food while we watched a girl texting on her phone while food sat under the heat lamps. I asked the girl for an extra strips sauce and some BBQ sauce for my kids chicken fingers. The girl brought me a cup of salsa, like she filled up a Coca-Cola cup to the rim with the dipping sauce and then said they were out of barbecue sauce and all they had left was one side of ranch. Me and another customer looked at each other and then started talking about how bad the service. That other customer told me that Jack's lost their lease and that this was the last summer that this place was going to be here. I asked the employee about it and she confirmed it. It's kinda like this place it's just going downhill because why offer good service when the restaurants is closing in a few weeks. The whole situation was very sad because I remember old man Dwight, his son Jack who is now I think 90 years old is someone I've known since I was literally like five years old and then watching his son and his grandson run this particular store and now watching it fall apart again makes me kind of sad . What a mess !

My family of six rented single bikes from this shop and it was a frustrating experience from start…read moreto finish. The cruiser bikes were old, poorly maintained, and in some cases, defective--definitely not safe for rental. They also didn't have enough functioning helmets, and when we raised concerns, we were told, "As long as you're not biking fast, you should be fine." Be very careful with the rental timing. Although we didn't leave the store until 15 minutes after the time noted on our receipt (due to figuring out how to use their faulty bikes), they began charging us from the moment I signed the form, not when we actually left. The staff didn't explain how the contract or billing worked and just said, "We'll settle when you come back." We returned the bikes after 80 minutes and were charged $187 + tax, because they bill for a full day once you go past one hour. There's no grace period even though the bikes were difficult to ride and in poor condition - riding them for over an hour wouldn't be enjoyable anyway. Learn from my mistake: don't rent bikes near the beach, especially from this business. If I could do it again, I'd rent farther from the beachfront, carefully review the rental terms, and confirm the exact start time before signing anything.

Good quality Vienna beef, classic toppings, exactly what you'd want for a quick and satisfying lunch. Nothing that blew us away but nothing to complain about either. Reliable, tasty hot dogs that hit the spot. The Bacon Chicago Double Dog though? That was the star of the show. However, the admission fees, parking fees, OUTRAGEOUS costs for food and drinks (spent over $200), was just over the top for us. I knew going in that we were going to splurge a little, however, the cost of some of these food items were INSANE. Truly, some of the best bites was the Birria Eggroll and the Alligator Bites, probably the couple of the cheapest things I bought! The Mango Ube Sticky Rice was also delicious. We also did the silly thing of buying the $30 baby bottle filled with Mango Pineapple Lemonade. It was yummy, and yes, the product itself is silly, but VERY cheap in that the top cracked and eventually was spilling on us throughout the day. We had to eventually throw it away; $30 in the trash. Luckily, we did the smart thing by arriving at 4:00pm (gates opened at 3:00pm) and we left by 8:00pm. Seeing the place fill up and the lines after leaving was shocking! We did not have to wait more than 15 minutes at any food vendor booth. I have read nothing but disappointment from frequent 626 Night Market attendees in the raising costs and mediocre food. I was not super impressed. There were plenty of vendors and I am in support of small businesses, but once again, VERY overpriced. Plus, we came strictly to try the foods. Thanks for the memories, but I will gladly be taking my $200+ for a much better dining experience elsewhere.
