Dwntwn Social is a cute little spot near Downtown Tampa. I've only tried them in the past for their bubble waffles, but when I got a craving for an acai bowl on the way home recently, I stopped in to try one of theirs. The counter service is always friendly, and they patiently waited while I picked out the Aloha Beaches Bowl from their selection of four acai bowls. You never feel rushed to order quickly here, and it's always pretty quiet and chill inside, with a few people sprinkled throughout working on their laptops. I should add here that I'm a big fan of acai bowls, and I've tried so many throughout the Tampa Bay Area and beyond over the past few years. And while the Aloha Beaches Bowl didn't disappoint - the fruit was fresh and the frozen acai was just the right texture - the price for the size of the bowl was a bit high compared to what you can get at other yummy acai spots like Grain & Berry or Soho Juice Co., where you have many more options available. read more

I haven't had a good açaí bowl ever since my favorite spot in the mall closed but this one I had today was perfect! I got mango,strawberry, banana and peanut butter as my toppings. I also love that it wasn't frozen açaí because I'm not a fan of those. Their playlist is super diverse but goes perfectly with the chill vibe in here. There's not many people in here but it sounds like there's no one in here because everyone is talking very lowly which i also love.I'll definitely be back to try the salty smoothie since they were sold out today. I would give the space a 5/5 and the bowl 3/5. We were there when the doors opened and the space was so clean and just such a good environment. I would definitely come here and study or work. The fruit in the açaí weee fresh but that bowl was pretty much rock solid. Once I got home, it was better. Not much to complain about there. I added some honey and granola and that bowl hit. Walked in with my daughter for a yummy açaí bowl and smoothie. The girl at the counter was super helpful since we didn't know what to order. We were here after lunch. The restaurant is visible at main street. Parking is at the back of building. Not all parking available due to reserve parking of other businesses. It is cute dessert restaurant. But I feel their price is at the high side. May be due to their location. We didn't try their drink items. We did get the waffle. We have the Kennedy Bubble waffle. It has the banana, strawberry, Nutella and coconut flakes. The bubble waffle is too soft and we feel waffle need to cook a bit longer for it to crispy. In compare to Bay Area bubble waffle, they are below average. Wait was short to have the waffle ready. Just need a bit patience. read more

I was feeling for a milkshake but didn't want all the calories that came with it so I looked up healthy shakes and Dwntwn Social came up. I was immediately intrigued by their aesthetics and the fact that it was so close by, that I hopped in my car and went there right away! It's located right across from UT campus and has a small parking lot around the back. The ambiance really is cool there and is good for some great photos if that's what you're into. The staff were very friendly and explained everything to me being a first timer. Apparently most of the shakes are under 300 calories and they put protein powder in all. Being a chocolate lover I got the Chocolate O.D. Shake and my first thought was it looks like a milkshake, doesn't necessarily taste like a milkshake but still delicious! I would definitely get it again to curb my cravings and the fact that it's low calorie with high protein. I would recommend this place if you are thinking about trying it out! read more

I used to love this place when it first opened... I'm not sure what has happened over time but it's definitely not the same place it once was. Before, the customer service was great! Someone always greeted you and answered any questions about the menu, just overall friendly service. The drinks were also AMAZING but sadly it seems as though both have deteriorated. Stopped in again to give it a try. Staff is bland, didn't even acknowledge us until we were ready to order... tried two strawberry teas (one with Lime) and both tasted like a kool aid packet of powder. Basically wasted $12 because we threw them away at the gas station. Just unfortunate because this place used to be so good!! :( read more

Found this place on IG, I think they opened when the lockdown started, so I think they did a nice job calling the attention of our community. The place is located right on front of The University of Tampa, which I think it is a great idea for students to relax while doing homework here. I like their idea of having bubble and Belgian waffle options. I tried the Kennedy waffle and it was good. I liked the fact that it has protein on it. I wish it had a bit more of Nutella but it has great taste anyway. Also, the price is very good compared to the quality and the size of the waffle. The decor of this place is very nice. You can definitely take a picture here and post it on social media. I think I would like to go back to try their teas. So overall, very nice and clean place. read more

I came here after my cycling class! I've been seeing the pictures of their shakes on Instagram and wanted to check them out. They are conveniently located right before the university of Tampa on Kennedy and have off street parking. When you venture inside the decor is gorgeous! It's definitely a great location to work, have a meeting, or get some cool Instagram shots. I didn't take any pics because I was gross and sweaty after class lol The staff was helpful and friendly. They have fun options for like waffles or smoothies. I chose to get a more basic protein shake options because I just worked out! This one had banana and strawberries. All these pictures of the milkshakes enticed me to try this new drink place. My friend and I ordered ahead thinking we were going to pick them up real quick and head home, but we picked up our drinks and just... didn't want to leave. This space is awesome! I love the posters on the walls, the instagram-worthy backgrounds, and the baristas are awesome. For the milkshakes, we tried the super-chocolatey one, and the "salty". I loved both. I really liked the pretzely topping in my shake. The crunch is a nice fun addition to the milkshake. I'm not sure if there was a smaller size, but the milkshakes were pretty big. I ended up saving mine and putting it in the fridge. The only thing though was that the crunchy pretzel pieces were soggy after that so the lesson is to enjoy it in the moment. ^_^ My friend saved half his chocolate milkshake as well and that kept well in the fridge! As soon as I saw the waffles, teas, and shakes they were offering I KNEW I had to check them out! The inside decor is cute, and as soon as you walk in you get this relaxing & chill vibe instantly! There are a lot of picture-worthy spots here, so fellow foodies get ready! My friend and I ordered the "Mango Waui Tea" - it was black tea w/ mango aloe & mango. It had a unique flavor, but it was pretty good & refreshing! I ordered the "Kennedy Waffle" (bubble-style) which came with bananas, strawberries, raspberries (I asked for none), coconut flakes, nutella, & whipped cream. I honestly couldn't be happier with the NEW Dwntwn Social! The location, the décor, the TASTE, everything! They offer protein-enhanced shakes and waffles, and açaí and pitaya bowls, as well as boosted teas (vitamin and caffeine enriched). Most of the time if you want a protein shake or protein waffle, you have to sacrifice the flavor - that's not the case here and I'm SHOCKED by it! I got the Kennedy Bubble Waffle, which aside from the fresh, tasty toppings, has this unique 'bubble' texture that makes eating it so much more fun. My husband and I love this place. We ran by today after the gym for a shake and a waffle. I had the Salty Shake and added a shot of espresso. I've had a few different shakes and this one is def my go-to. My husband got the Kennedy Waffle which was AMAZING...not gonna lie...I stole a few bites. :). It's a great place when you want something sweet and tasty, but not 1500 calories. I also noticed today that this would be a great space to work in if you work from home and just need a break from your house (or a student). One star for the magnificent marketing ploy. Have you not noticed these loaded tea cafes and smoothie shops popping up everywhere? I mean IMAGINE having the funds to be able to set up shop in a central area of downtown Tampa and market "healthy" protein shakes with Oreos and whipped cream! Who wouldn't want to come here? Unfortunately, your local smoothie shop is actually a FRONT for Herbalife. This is nothing but another Herbalife nutrition club masquerading as a shake shop, part of the largest MLM marketing scheme to hit the fitness industry. The only brand of "protein" they use is Herbalife and I cant imagine they post ingredients. They were investigated by the FTC and had to pay a $200 million settlement fee "to restructure their business " and the way to "restructure" is by building shake shop fronts around major cities. I mean it's a very lucrative practice. Herbalife ingredients contain emulsifiers, synthetic gums, food coloring and artificial ingredients but I mean who cares when there's fruity pebbles and sprinkles on my "protein" shake, right? read more

Dwntwn Social is so cute and I'm so glad I found this place through other Tampa bloggers posting about it on social media. The inside decor is very Insta friendly, and there are seats for you to just chill and relax. The music they play is pretty cool too. I find Dwntwn Social's menu somewhat unique compared to other tea and coffee shops in the Tampa area. I love how their main concept here is to incorporate protein in their drinks and food. Even their coffees have protein in them. I ordered their Boosted Tropical Mango drink - black tea, mango, mandarin, aloe, and tropical fruit. It was very good and I didn't feel jittery drinking this tall cup of 120mg of caffeine. I believe it's because their teas are energizing, antioxidants, enriched with vitamins and caffeine - clean energy drinks. Good stuff. I look forward to coming back again - I still need to try one of their ACAI protein bowls, or their protein gourmet waffles - yum! read more

Per my last review update-I was under the impression my gift card situation had been fixed. Much to my dismay I arrive for a second visit to use said gift card and AGAIN with the same problem! I do not understand why they continue to use this Clover digital gift card system. Instead of fighting about the gift card to the one and only employee in the shop I just paid out of pocket and will not be going out of my way to return. The products here are Herbalife. I personally don't like that brand but their bubbles waffles taste AMAZING. They go like on the toppings a little but overall it's good.
