Its an ongoing problem with Uber Eats orders, that items are missing from orders, and that Uber Eats says that they cannot or wont refund the undelivered items. Metro Diner is very good though about making sure customers are compensated, be it with a discount or replacement, just reach out to them directly and let them know what happened. The service was outstanding, and the location couldn't be more convenient, offering plenty of comfortable seating. We enjoyed the Fried Chicken and Waffles, which were generous enough for two. The ambiance was lively with many happy diners. The waffle was delicious, but my chicken breast was undercooked--it was pink, runny, and had a vinegar taste. This by far is my go to diner. It's very affordable and the service is incredibly fast. I've been here several times and I always try to order something different. The food is delicious. I've had the Chicken and waffles, Fish and chips, classic breakfast and I've yet to be disappointed. Depending on the time you get there it could seem very busy, but the turn around is pretty quick. As we were sitting at our table we noticed the fan was blowing too much cool air our way. I kindly asked the hostess if she could turn off the fan. She stated she could not turn off the fan but instead could move us to another table without a fan above us. We agreed... Although we were grateful, she did not communicate this to our waitress nor the other waitress who was servicing the new table. The new waitress walked over with disgust in her eyes and irritable tone asking us why we were sitting there. We kindly explained and she walked off with an attitude. We then explained what had occurred to Tanisha who was very kind and understanding. The food presentation was just okay. We ordered chicken Benedict and croissant sandwich. It was average, nothing to brag about. Overall the experience was just okay. Communication is lacking between hostess and wait staff. The second waitress was rude and that put a damper on the visit. What a start to the day! Beginning with the customer service, Metro was really great. We had a semi large party, but we were seated fairly quickly just after the lunch rush. They gave us time to look through the menu and showed us the specials on the wall as well. We ordered a lot of options and then shared. It is A TON of food! Everything was seasoned and cooked to perfection. We had so much food, you could definitely have some to take home for later. It wasn't too loud so you could talk to your table as well. I went for the infamous chicken & waffles. They are infamous because they are served with a delicious strawberry butter. The server was great and timely. The food did take 20 minutes, but that's because it was made fresh. My only complaint would be that many of tables were dirty when I arrived and I was asked to choose a table. It took 4 tables for me to pass before I saw one that was clean and there was only one other customer in there when I arrived. I recently met some friends at the Metro Diner for breakfast. As we entered we were greeted by a very friendly staff. The diner vibe was spot on. At 8 am, I was surprised to see the restaurant 50% full. Once seated, we started our breakfast with the Avocado Toast as an appetizer. Excellent flavor on a very healthy appearing bread. For breakfast I had the Huevos Rancheros -pictured here. This was a very generous portion of food and had some wonderful flavors going on. The only thing that I didn't like was that there was some sort of underlying taste that I couldn't quite put my finger on but I do believe that it was the less expensive, highly processed cheese. Others ordered the meat lovers omelette packed with meat and again, a very generous portion and the freshly made corn beef hash. They commented that they really enjoyed their food. I ordered the chicken and waffles just to get to the point lol. So hungry. This dish was massive! When our server brought my plate I asked him if anyone ever finishes this?! He said sometimes, yea. I couldn't believe it. There was like an entire half of fried chicken on my plate and huge waffles. I liked this dish, it could do with just a smidge more flavor though. I came here a few days ago for lunch with my 2 year old. We were warmly greeted and seated pretty promptly. I ordered his eggs, bacon and silver dollar pancakes for his lunch. I mean good for him because he never has bfast for lunch. He ate the 1 scrambled egg and the 3 silver dollar pancakes! Victory! For myself I did the Steak and Egg Scramble which was a risk because sometimes that Steak can be over cooked. In this instance it wasn't but the Hollandaise sauce was toooooo much. If I were to get this again, I'd tell them to take it easy or just get it on the side. The service was just ok. The only time the server came around was to ask me if I wanted another Coke Zero while I was taking my 2 year old to the bathroom. Read the room my man! I found the hollandaise sauce to be a bit much and next time should ask for it on the side. Otherwise, it was delicious. I love the hash browns and the hollandaise sauce is necessary to give it some oomph. There wasn't a lot of avocados, but the rest of the ingredients were fantastic. I would get this again. There weren't a lot of people here at 9 a.m. on a Thursday, but the parking lot was still pretty full. Our waitress was great at the beginning, but when we wanted to pay our check she disappeared for a while. We were lucky we weren't in a rush. Otherwise, when we did see her she was great.
