The 16 week wait time was not worth it. The optic cut is it self not bad, but the cerakote could be improved. I can't in good conscience recommend DWS considering my experience. Honest review time. I've been a fan of DWS work for a little over a year now. Been following them on Facebook, and they're work always looked beautiful. They had a great sale during this whole COVID thing so I decided to pull the trigger and get it done. I got the MKIII Reaper cut, with RMR optic cut, and they cerakoted it, Multicam Black, as well included in the price, which was awesome!!! So I sent them my slide and got confirmation of them receiving it immediately. They were quoting 4-6 weeks on turnaround which is long, but I was fine with it especially since I have backup pistols. The actual wait was more like 7-8 weeks, but I changed the order and had them do some custom engraving on it for me. Sonya was great to deal with. I know shes fairly new there, and even with that she always found my order info and was able to give me rough updates throughout the process. The customer service was awesome in my opinion despite the longer than average wait times. They're a small business so I totally understand! Only bummer for me was that on the form they stated that they'd send the slide back with the sights re-installed and it came back without them on the gun, also they are out of the optic cover plates so I didn't receive that, and the channel liners were out. All inconveniences yes, but pretty minor considering the volume they are likely doing right now. I'm fairly savvy so I looked up a youtube video and doing a sight install is not very complicated so it's fine. I had to order the channel liner and a tool to install it, so that is a bummer cuz it's costing me like $30, silver lining being that now I'll have that tool in the future. The bottom line, they're a small business so you have to be patient with them. However, I'd definitely recommend their services, and I'm absolutely pumped on the final product! I got blocked from their IG after I told them that I would expose them for fraud. Never do business with people who takes your money and gives you excuses and lies. They said that I was full of it. Really?? I guess your business is full of lies. Explain how you would "assemble" a precut slide with no internals. Also, assemble is where all slides go to verify cuts, and everything is correctly done and if there's parts to be installed that when it's done. I needed to cancel work done and now over $500 is being held onto and refused to be issued a refund. I am being told store credit only even though both the website and the payment portal show clear refund policies. After posting this review, the same day, I was asked by the company to take down the post. I was told that the conversation is not over and that I'd get a phone call in the morning after talking to management (the email thread doesn't list the name of the individual from their company and is an anonymous response although Pedro from Yelp and the DWS email responder are obviously sharing details in real time or could be the same person) but it is the end of business day and no phone call has been received. read more

Well after 15 months of waiting, endless attempts to call the store and incredibly frustrating "live chats", I finally received my order of three magazine extensions. This would have been the conclusion to a 15 month saga if they'd actually sent the correct items and included everything that was supposed to be in the order. Not only did they send the completely wrong color, they neglected to include the springs needed to make the mag extensions work. So now I am left with three useless pieces of metal, in the wrong color and almost no hope of ever getting back in touch with this terrible company. The coating on the magazine extensions is also scratched down to bare metal fresh out of the box and looks like it was sprayed on by a child. So this will be my 2nd time doing business with DWS. First time I had a slide cut and Cerakoted (I live local so no need to ship). The communication and customer service was a bit patchy, but giving them the benefit of the doubt. They are a small (very inviting) mom and pop shop that are dealing with im sure a flock of orders from people all over the place. Mistakes happen, miscommunication happens, mix that with a firearm enthusiast, Gun nut excited customer who can't wait to get their new slide back. You get some rather hurt feelings when inconveniences arise. As far as people stating about, reporting DWS to the better business bureau for "fraud". I seriously doubt that this family of people are going to scam you for your slide and your money and never resolve the problem and completely forget you exist. If you're sending your slide in for work, and don't pay for a same day work, or don't live local. Just get it through your head that you are probably NOT going to see your slide for quite sometime, period. But when the day comes that you do receive your slide, or you have the privilege of handling a firearm with a slide done by DWS. You will know where that money, and time went! The quality of their work is unmatched, truly unmatched. We're talking, not even agency arms can compete with the level of workmanship these guys are pumping out. From the gorgeous Cerakote work, to the absolutely robotic slide cuts and textures, to the tolerances of everything. I wish I could cuss on yelp because I need it to help me enhance the description of their work. This was a long overdue review. I came in to DWS about a couple of months ago for their Responder slide for a g19 build I started. Don't get me wrong, I was reading and watching YouTube vid reviews so I have to admit I was a little hesitant doing business with them. I first spoke to Tyler I think it was over the phone to get a quote for the slide. He quoted me $450 so I was expecting to pay that. When I went to the store to pick it up, Pedro then gave me a different quote which was $550. He explained that since it was a ready to ship slide and there are no wait times, the price is different. Whatever. He did give me an optic cover, channel liner, and some rmr screws for free so that makes it a little better lol. They also told me that if I do get new sights in, they'll install it for free! Anyway, I just ran about 400 rounds through this build and the slide is flawless. No machine marks or any defects as far as I could see. Other than than the different price quote I got, I'm pretty happy with their cs (despite what I've read here or from YouTube). Will I purchase another build from them? Definitely. Recommend the place? based on my experience, yes I would. read more

I called back in June 2023 inquiring about a slide for my gen 5 . Sales rep told me he has one in stock and would ship it next day. I paid for 2 base plates traded in my original glock slide and paid for my own shipping after spending $500.00 I then get a call saying they dont have the slide in stock and offered me a different version. Part of the trade in included my optic would be transferred and supressor sights. I waited about 2 weeks before inquiring a simple update and it was nearly impossible to have someone answer the phone or email or a message on instagram. After a month I was told they cut the wrong slide and promised me they would send next couple days. (1 more month goes by) I called about 25 times periodically spread out through the months and kept getting a run around Fast forward 8-31-23 I finally receive my slide and (NO base plates) of course I was given the run around again. Job looked rushed and does not seem high quality. My Rear sight is not centered. Terrible terrible customer service, they are quickly getting a bad rep. They have multiple bad reviews on Better Business bureau. Dont recommend, dont let the flashy pics fool u from instagram and eye catching content. Love my slide from DWS! I applaud these guys for the patience they had with my impatience, I was very excited to get my slide, so I did message them a lot on their Instagram for updates! The owner I believe is Pedro and he was very responsive! Personally gave me a call when it was ready for pick up! I picked up my slide 2 weeks after my original pick up date(they were moving to a new and bigger location) but for a smaller local shop that is understandable. When I picked up my slide everyone on staff greeted me and was very kind! I didn't realize I needed a " Channel Liner" and Pedro was nice enough to give me one for free! They transferred everything over from my old slide to the new slide, and also installed my iron sights for free! Lubed up the rails and let me take pictures of it in their very cool office! Had a p-01 slide mild. We had some scheduling and system errors on their end. I got it about a week later than we agreed. Ultimately, I didn't care as long as the work was good. I am here to say the work is absolutely solid. Had them mask and cerakote the optic cut as I didn't need a complete recoating. The lines are clean. Milling work is nice and square to the bore axis. One minor grip is that the screws they used to mount the optic have too big a head, no biggie I keep tons on hand. The price is competitive with the limited options us CZ owners have. Nice to know we have a shop that's local. I would say, keep in touch with them just to make sure you avoid any scheduling issues. But if you are like me and didn't really care too much about the lead time, it's a worth while place to go for milling. read more

I hate to have to write a negative review, especially because Pedro seems like a nice guy and I like to support local businesses, but I feel that it's the only way for me to get my stuff back at a reasonable time. To begin, I dropped off my slide in person on June 25, 2024 and I was quoted a 4-6 week lead time. That's longer than usual considering competitors are quoting 1-2 week lead times, but again I like to support local businesses (especially ones in the SoCal 2A scene) and I wanted to avoid having to ship my slide. On August 9th (3 days after the 6 week deadline) I sent an email looking for an update. I received no reply. On August 13th, I decided to visit them in person to get an update and I was told that my side was in the Cerakote phase and that it would be ready in approximately a week. A week later on August 20th, I visited them again to pick up my slide but I was told that the optic didn't fit and that it needed to be Cerakoted again so I needed to wait another week. Pedro also mentioned that when my slide was done I would receive an email, but there must be a problem with their auto update email system because the last update I received was for the "disassembly" step on July 2nd but apparently the slide has progressed to the Cerakote stage without any updates in between. It is now August 26th as of the writing of this review and I have received no updates or email confirmations. I can't help but feel that they're just giving me excuse after excuse to avoid giving me my stuff back for whatever reason. I can understand delays and problems, but I believe that I've been more than patient and reasonable in giving them an additional 3 weeks on top of the deadline. I recommend that they update their lead times to reflect more realistic wait times or find some other way to meet their quoted times. I'm more than happy to edit this review if anything changes and I get my slide back, but I'm not holding my breath based on other reviews I've read. P.S. So I got my slide worked on here and I must say the work done on it was top tier. They gave me what I asked for and then some. My only complaint was issues calling the number posted on their website. DWS killed it. Brought my gen3 Glock 20 10mm into them and wanted a lot of work done on this bad boy. Mark II Destroyer milling with top window, vortex venom optic cut, Ameriglow Suppressor height sights, custom metallic multi cam cerakote, custom stippling and mounted my inforce 1000 lumen light as well. I dropped off my Glock 19 slide for an optic cut on Saturday June 26th. I left my optic and side and purchased suppressor sights from DWS. I specifically asked for the suppressor night sights. I was told no problem as they have the suppressor sights in stock. I figured I would just pay more and get them here at DWS since it's easier even though the price is higher than Riffle Supply by $30. First big mistake was trusting the employee as he lied to me that they have the suppressor night sights and that they had them in stock. Fast forward 3 weeks out I never got an email, text or phone call letting me know any update on my slide. I called and came into the shop and was told I would be getting an email and text once the slide is being ready to be cut which never happened. What kind of service business is this not providing any updates and making people wait for an update that does not come. I happened to call on Friday 7-23 and found out my side was ready to be picked up and I can come by and pick up the slide. During that conversation with Mike he asked is someone told me that I needed to pick up a channel liner. I said no as I never got a update call and when I dropped of the slide the guy never told me. No problem I went to Bolsa and picked up the channel liner. I got another call from Mike to remind me that to bring my optic and sights for him to install. I reminded him that they have my optic and I purchased the suppressor sights from them. Mike let me know they are out of the suppressor sights they sold me but I can go and pick up the sights from bolsa when I get the channel liner and he would talk to Sonja about refunding me since DWS sold me something that they do not have in stock. How can you sell me sights you have in stock and 4 weeks later sell those to someone else and not deliver the merchandise to me and say all sales are final. The term all sales are final, implies you delivered me the product. What type of inventory management system are you running to sell something and 4 weeks later sell that to someone else's and not deliver to item and then say all sales are final when you never delivered anything in the first place. On 7/23 Sonja said she would talk to Pedro on making this right and have patiently waited 1 week and no phone call or update. I called again and spoke to mike on Friday 7/30 and he said he would have Sonja call me back which never happened. Over the weekend I was at the FT3 and saw my friends there and was complaining about how DWS takes your money and doesn't have the product in stock as they sold the item you bought to someone else. So funny how I'm not the only one that bad experiences with them and will continue to make sure the bad experiences are know so people don't have to go through what I have went through. When you pay good money for a service you should get Good service in return not just excuses. read more

I took my Shield slide in the have it cut for a RMR on a Friday. After talking with Pedro, he convinced me to have it cut for a Holosun instead of the RMR and some top serrations. He said that the cerakote and cover plate would come with the order. I was told 6-8 weeks until it was finished. One day later I changed my mind about the color cerakote that I wanted so I called them to see about changing it. They said to call on Monday which I did. I read on their website about paying $100, they would provide "next day" service. I ask them about this and they said for the $100, they would have it done on Wednesday. ( 2 day service) They charged my credit card $108 (I don't think services can charge taxes?) Since I work late in the evening, I was not able to get there til Friday (4 days later) and was told that they cerakoted my slide the wrong color and that it would be done Saturday morning. I went there Saturday morning and my slide was done. The employee tried putting my slide on my gun when it went shooting off the gun, sliding across the counter top. He finally got it mounted and thanks me for coming in when I ask him where my Holosun is. He tried calling the boss on the phone only to get no answer. He said he'd call me back in an hour or so, which he did. Only to tell me the Holosun never came in. "Call them on Monday". I called Monday and they told me it would be there on Wednesday. Again, I went back on Friday only to be told it would be in "Next Week" I ask for a refund on the Holosun and was told they don't do refunds. I called the following Wednesday and was told it still was not in yet. I called my credit card company and disputed the transaction for the cost of the Holosun. Long story short.... I ended up with a slide with a scratch in the Cerakote, No cover plate that I was promised. Would I go there again?? Hell no. I'm surprised this guy is not being investigated by some Government agency for his shady transactions. I believe he tells everyone 6-8 weeks so it make it harder to dispute it with your credit card company read more

Update with my experience with DWS. They finished my slide after the first week, and since I was going out to Anaheim, CA for the Sand show anyways, I told them I'd just pick the slide up while I was there. Pedro met me at the sand show in his truck, and we talked for a bit and he handed me my slide and a few stickers and went about our day. Overall great experience with the company, and the slide turned out amazing. Definitely will be ordering more work from them in the future. read more

I wanted a custom slide cut, an optic cut, a new Holoson optic, I wanted my slide cerakoted with a custom stars and stripes pattern - so I wanted a lot done. DWS took my gun in during the Christmas holidays and I got it back in mid-January. It didn't take took long at all as they were pretty backed up from all the end of year orders they already had received. When I got my Glock back, I was speechless as DWS had totally exceeded all my expectations. Pedro is the owner and he carefully listened to every single detail I had requested in the custom cerakote pattern that I had requested. His mother is named Sonya, she works at the front counter and helped me out during my first couple of visits to DWS, before I brought my weapon in to be customized. She is a wealth of knowledge on their process and made some great recommendations on the optic and type of slide cuts they had to offer. Don't waste your time with another gun customizer - this is a "one stop shop" and their new location is much larger than their prior shop from 2020. They can handle much more business now and have hired more techs --- so the wait time to get your gun back is reduced and reasonable. I initially found DWS in an internet search not realizing they were driving distance from my home. I was very excited to find a company that was set up to do optics cuts on guns other than Glock. Nothing wrong with Glock, but there are tons of companies that do optics cuts for them specifically. DWS was unique in that they offered the optics cuts on Smith And Wessons, which is far, far, more difficult to find ANYWHERE! Enough with that, I would like to say how great of an experience I had with them completing my optics cut. I cannot say enough good things about the level of customer service I received from Sonia and the very nice gentlemen (Didn't catch his name on the phone). Not only was she able to easily and painlessly deliver the slide, she was very impressed with how patient they were to her during the process. The DWS crew was so interested in making sure I got exactly what I wanted that they called me and confirmed every part of the order. The DWS crew got my slide completed to perfection in a great time frame and shipped back to me exactly as promised. THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM PEDRO ROBBED ME OUT OF $1000 DOLLARS Took my gun august 7th and picked it up nov 2nd... the slide was not painted in tungsten grey and the barrel wasn't coated in gold, they robbed me out of the stippling I paid for and the $200 to expedite my order, also they had close to 3 months to order my x300 light and there excuse was it was back ordered. They didn't want to refund my money but give me store credit. Their whole store was empty af what was I suppose to take empty boxes home smh lol , I don't recommend this company to my worst enemy. The owner said he shipped my order nearly a full week ago. No acceptance shown on tracking. No receipt they dropped it off. No arrival scan. No departure scan. If you want to pay hundreds of dollars so they can take or lose your property while also blaming you, that would be the only reason to use this company for anything. The most useless owner and business period. I got scammed. Edit: DWS is now claiming they are ordering me a new H&K P2000 completed upper to mill it and put in the Holosun I ordered because they either never shipped my original order, or lost it. I've asked for proof that they've ordered this and for a timeline on when they will deliver as my original hell of a customer experience started all the way back in the first week of July. No proof has been provided or timeline provided yet. read more

Additional comments. They said the turn around time would take around 3-5 weeks which was why I placed my order since I was going camping by then, but they took like 3-4 months. They didn't even contact me once my order was done. I had to contact them instead. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more
