Daughter and her family are frequent fliers here and this is where she wanted to eat for her birthday. This was the wife and I's first time. This is one of the better buffets we have eaten at. A huge selection that also includes a large sushi bar and a wok and hibachi station where you can get items cooked to order. I saw staff constantly tending the hot buffett bars adding hot, fresh food and wiping up spills and keeping the presentation nice. I stuck mainly with the sushi and seafood items. All items I tried from the sushi bar were good. They also had one of my favorites, mayonnaise baked mussels. Daughter got me to try coconut shrimp which I liked as well and the bacon wrapped shrimp. They also had some items that you normally only find at higher end sushi restaurants such as baby octopus, which my wife and I really like. The octopus was on the spicy side which I liked but I still dipped it in the hot chili oil as I do just about everything. The only thing I tried I did not like that night were the crab rangoons. They add honey to theirs making them to sweet for my tastes. Also be aware both my daughter and I thought the same thing, that the wasabi here seems hotter than normal and we both found out the hard way! The entire family enjoyed their meals and even the granddaughter chowed down and she can be picky about food like this! The server for our area kept empty plates cleared promptly and we had no issues with plates piling up on our table as reported by other reviewers. He also refills drinks quickly as well. We went on a Thursday night, so it wasn't crowded at all. Daughter and family have been on a Saturday night and said it was beyond packed with a line out of the door waiting to get in. NO THANKS! We'll stick to week day nights! For the amount and quality of the food the price is more than reasonable at $11.99 for adults and $6.99 for the granddaughter plus drinks tax and tip. My kids like to go here every niw and then when they have a day out of school. They are young so of course a buffet with chicken and noodles make them happy. The prices are not bad and food is ok. I wish the staff was a little more professional and payed more attention to the customers. Every time we have ever been we see our waitress 3 times, once to order, once for drinks (never a refill without flagging them down) and then again for the check. The used plates stack up because no one removes them untill the end. If you are looking for a place with a buffet of average Chinese food and less than average service then this is it. Buffet was full service all the waitress did was bring us our drinks once. And then had to ask her to take dirty plates. Up one getting the check she stood over us while filling it out. We were going to leave her tip cash. But when she got the check back she made a loud groaning noise and kept asking us "no tip? No tip" didn't even give us time to reach for the cash tip... that is the most unprofessional thing I've ever seen from a waitress. Yikes. The food was ok. Didn't really care too much for the atmosphere. There is a large amount of food to choose from but very little looked appetizing. It was not appealing from a visual or taste perspective. Maybe I came on an off day but I could barely get down one plate and decided that was it and left. Thank goodness I was able to get one plate down. Let's hope I am able to keep this down. My waiter did not once check on me and I had flag her down to get the check. The food seems to have been on the buffet for quite a while. eggrolls weren't crispy, nor was any thing else that should have been crispy. The rest of the food wasn't horrible, and the service was decent. The cost for myself and my daughter (who is 11.) was $19.93 Which seemed a bit much considering I got water and it was lunchtime! We go here about once a week. I love the hibachi and the fried dumplings. That is pretty much what I eat every single time. The sushi isn't great, but is ok. Some of their other dishes look good and some don't. It gets super busy on Sundays, fyi. Overall, it is the best Chinese buffet in the area and we will continue to come back. I have eaten here at least a dozen times mostly at lunch time. Today I had Sunday dinner here and as always the food and service were great. I am writhing this review not on the restaurant but some of the people I witnessed stealing food this afternoon. On lady kept filling napkins up with peel and eat shrimp and filled her pocketbook up. Another man walked out the front door several times with the small cups of ice cream in a paper page and he must have had a cooler in his car. This is not the first time but today everywhere I looked it seemed as if someone was stealing food.These people all had young children with them. First time have tried this restaurant since they moved. Overall food was tasty and the selection was really good. Only major problem we seen was that the cooked foods were not "hot"! They were just warm. This was throughout, because between my wife and myself we tried most everything. Price was good and the dessert bar was very good. The outside could be cleaned up for appearance purposes. If the outside looks like a trailer park I wonder what the kitchen looks like. The carpet is filthy and reeks of high traffic. The doors are cloudy glass that were never upgraded from when it was another buffet years ago. When you open the doors the inside doesn't match the outside. They upgraded the inside of the building-- too bad they don't know how many people judge a book by its cover and lucky for them we are greedy lol. Not pleased at all! Wanted to try somewhere new and now regret it. Service was wonderful. Food was horrendous. Crab legs way over done. Orange chicken and coconut chicken was like eating jellied chicken, it was so soggy. The rice was very bland. Chicken kabob were extremely dry it was like jerky. The sushi! Oh the sushi! Where do I even start. Well so to sum it up, it tasted like it came from a gas station. Although probably better there. The place was dirty and not well kept for sure. We have been looking for a really good Chinese buffet since we relocated to North Carolina, and we've always been disappointed...until we tried this place. It's got a very good variety, the food is very good, it's clean, and the service employees are very friendly and attentive. My family and I use to go here often but it has been over a year since we have been back and last week we decided to make our grand return. Oh my word were we disappointed...To begin with they sat us at a broken table and when we looked around to switched we noticed that all the tables wobbled. My husband fixed the table himself while I wiped the tabletop off. The seats were ripped and the floor was screaming "VACCUM ME!" Finally we were settled so on to the food, the grill was not working(which was the only thing I eat at buffets), the rice was burnt, the spring rolls mushy and I was too scared to eat the sushi. But it wasn't it all bad we did eat our moneys worth in ice cream cups. I hate that this place has gone downhill and I don't see them doing well unless they make some serious improvements since they have some steep competition just down the lane. read more

GREAT experience at the new location! I called the day before Christmas to let them know we'd have about 50 people coming, and they set us up with a reservation and were ready to welcome us the next day. It didn't phase them in the slightest that about a third of our group was composed of children, or that we had more people show up than expected. I'm not sure why this place got low reviews. Just ate here and everything was hot, fresh, and delicious. Deserts were in individual serving sizes for convenience. My favorite was the teriyaki chicken. Tender chicken with great flavor. My wife's favorite was the extra large crab ragoons. This restaurant was recommended to me by some coworkers who said it's the best chinese buffet in the gastonia/west Charlotte area. Unfortunately after trying it out I did not agree with them. This place is just a typical sub-par chinese buffet. They have a decent variety of entrees to choose from (including crab legs and other random seafood including little raw octopuses) but the quality of the food wasn't great. They also have some basic sushi rolls on the buffet but the freshness and quality was definitely questionable. I tried a couple pieces of a california roll because I can't resist sushi, but it was pretty bad. Since moving to Gastonia we've been here about 4 times already. Food is good.. kids enjoy it.. staff is very friendly and it's a very reasonable price. I gave it 4 stars because there's not much veggies to choose from without the meat seeing that I'm a vegetarian. Would love more choices with vegetables and a label on everything to know what it is. By the dessert there's no labels to tell you what it is and when I asked the staff said they didn't know. read more
