Butter chicken, garlic naan, basmati rice

This is some of the best Indian food I've ever had! Everything is so flavorful and delicious. The service is amazing and the place has such a nice calm ambiance about it. I go here regularly for the butter chicken with garlic naan and rice, so delicious !!!! 10/10 recommend

My husband and I had the absolute pleasure of coming in today because, well, it was raining, and I had a hankering for Indian cuisine. (I didn't feel like cooking. ) The downfall of some parts of Gastonia is that the power goes out when it rains. When we arrived, we realized the power was out in the restaurant as well, but we saw others entering, so we did the same. We were greeted by the manager, Raj, who informed us that there was no power but that they had some lighting in the kitchen and could accommodate us if we wanted to enjoy dinner. Well, I'm glad we decided to stay. I knew immediately that I wanted some garlic naan because that's one of the main reasons I came, lol. My husband ordered a mango juice for his drink, and I ordered a Coke. We were offered water as well. Observations I made as we sat waiting and also looking through the menu. The restaurant still has mainly the aesthetic of the prior business that was there. The tables have cloth napkins but would benefit from even the simplest addition of tablecloths. I asked Raj for his recommendation for something to eat, as I'm definitely tired of chicken tikka masala everywhere because everyone orders it. Raj told me he enjoys the Chicken Roghan Josh, and that is literally what I was looking at on the menu. Something about the sauce being made with almonds caught my attention. My husband was looking at the counterpart of that dish but in lamb form. And so that is what we ordered. When the food arrived, we were given enough meat in a bowl for two people to share easily, along with a side of basmati rice . Then, the fresh naan was brought out. We asked for the meats to be cooked with medium spice , and that did not disappoint. The level of spice was not overpowering, and goodness, the sauce was creamy and cooked to perfection. The naan was well made. Only one piece was a little crispy, but that's understandable as they were working with hardly any light. But I loved it so much that I ordered more to go . As we were close to finishing, the lights came back on, and that was perfect because it was getting darker outside. I decided to get a dessert and opted for the kheer (rice pudding). It was more on the simpler side, but I truly loved the flavor because it wasn't overly sweet, and it felt great once eaten in my stomach (you know, hot food). I asked Raj about the buffet since he had brought it up before we left, and let's just say that if the other dishes are as good as the one we just enjoyed, it is well worth $14.99. I truly liked that he was open to suggestion, as we are the consumers coming in to enjoy what they have to offer. It's definitely a must-go if you enjoy something different. I will note that it is true what some reviewers have said: it seems not so much on the traditional side of Indian cuisine; it's modified to fit those who are not used to a certain taste. But that, to me, isn't a takeaway because they are willing to appease the area they're in.

We were beyond impressed. Everything was brought out quickly but in stages to not have too much at once. The Dinner for 2 was a surprisingly large spread and a taste of some of the best dishes.

All you can eat Indian food for $15?! Sign me up. Sundays is their buffet and it is amazing! The service is awesome they stay on top of keeping drinks filled and keeping the buffet fresh. This was my second time eating here, but first time having the buffet. There's a lot of options!

Yay! I walked into the newly opened Curry Indian cuisine the other day to give it a try! I wasn't swept off my feet when I walked in. A couple of customers paying for their food while I waited and watched but I believe the host was serving as both host and register. So i can understand not being seated with the quickness. The atmosphere is a little "bare bones" but who cares when all ya want is a nice plate of food!? There is a small buffet filled with yummy dishes. Some vegetarian and some not. I see myself returning to get my Indian food craving fixed! 16.99 for lunch buffet.

Our food was cold and not seasoned well enough. They forgot our rice as well. I would not recommend this place. Not a good experience.

First time at a Seafood Boil Spot…read more I was very pleased with the quality of the food for the price. This was my first time going and it definitely won't be my last. The fried whiting was a great portion fried perfectly, flaky, and the plate was very filling. The coleslaw was AMAZING! The only downside was that the food was a little too salty for my taste, I got the seafood boil, but now that I know, that's something I can ask to have adjusted next time. My only real disappointment was the "butter." It tasted more like movie-theater popcorn butter than actual butter. Definitely not a fan of that.....yuck! SERVICE WAS TOP NOTCH, wish I remember her name. Overall, though, the food was delicious, the portions were great, and we will absolutely be back!

I don't normally leave reviews this detailed, and I want to start by saying the food at The Juicy…read moreCrab Gastonia is usually very good. We've eaten here before and continue coming back because we genuinely enjoy the food. Even tonight, our food was good. Unfortunately, the service and overall organization of the restaurant were unacceptable. We arrived around 9 PM and were told by two different servers that someone would be with us "in a second." We were seated around 9:11, but then continued waiting without much acknowledgment. Around 9:25, the person who appeared to be the manager finally came over and took our order after we had already watched the bartender ask them several minutes earlier to assist us. As we sat there, it became obvious just how overwhelmed the restaurant was. There appeared to be only four active servers, each handling around nine tables, most of which were four-tops. At that point, I don't think it's fair to simply blame the servers. Trying to provide attentive service to potentially 30+ guests each is an unreasonable workload. We could clearly hear other tables complaining about the service as well. We also watched finished drinks sit on the bar instead of being run to customers. Some sat long enough that they eventually had to be remade, creating even more work for an already overwhelmed bar and making customers wait even longer. The bartender deserves specific recognition because he was clearly doing everything he could. In addition to making drinks for the restaurant, he was covering several tables and eventually ours as well. He brought our food out around 9:38-9:46 and was literally out of breath from running around. He was not the problem here. We also watched another couple come in and wait for approximately 20 minutes. Eventually, they went and sat themselves at the bar, presumably hoping someone would finally acknowledge them. They still weren't helped and ultimately got up and walked out. We finally received our check around 10:30 PM, and I asked the bartender if they were short-staffed because it was obvious this wasn't a normal situation. We were told approximately five employees had called out that night and two kitchen employees had recently quit. From what we could see, the person who appeared to be the manager was also helping cover the back of house while the kitchen was being slammed with dine-in, to-go, and DoorDash orders. Knowing all of that actually made me more sympathetic toward the employees working that night. This didn't look like a restaurant full of people who simply didn't care. It looked like a handful of employees being asked to handle more than they could realistically keep up with. However, understanding why the restaurant was struggling doesn't make the experience acceptable. My biggest issue is that the restaurant continued accepting and seating customers despite the staff already being completely overwhelmed. If four servers are each carrying around nine tables and customers already inside aren't being properly acknowledged, it's time to slow down seating, put people on a wait, close a section, or at the very least warn incoming customers that service is going to be significantly delayed. Had someone simply told us at 9pm "We've had several call-outs tonight and we're extremely backed up, so service is going to take longer than normal," I would have been much more understanding. Instead, we were told someone would be with us "in a second" and had to figure out for ourselves what was happening. There is a difference between bad service because employees don't care and bad service because employees have been given an impossible workload. Tonight appeared to be the latter, which is why I don't want this review to come across as attacking the servers who were clearly struggling to keep up. At the same time, customers shouldn't be left wondering if anyone is going to acknowledge them, drinks shouldn't be sitting until they need to be remade, and people shouldn't be able to wait 20 minutes, move themselves to the bar, still receive no service, and eventually leave. The frustrating part is that our food was still good, as it usually is. That's why we've continued coming back, and it's what makes tonight so disappointing. The bartender also deserves credit for how hard he was working under the circumstances. I genuinely hope this was just an exceptionally bad night. Being severely short-staffed happens, but when it does, the restaurant needs to adjust the amount of business it accepts and communicate honestly with customers. Tonight's situation was unfair to the customers and, frankly, unfair to the employees who actually showed up and were trying to keep the place running.
