Even expensive hotels don't give you these anymore!

I'm extremely picky about hotels but we needed to stay somewhere for some hours before we checked into a bigger Hotel the next day. I'm pleasantly surprised!! First of all we made a mistake and booked a smoking room. We called the front desk and they immediately gave us another room! Once inside this hotel had EVERYTHING... Fridge, microwave, mini living room, iron with board, hair dryer and even toothbrush and toothpaste with other goodies! Delicious Mexican restaurant next door and stores across the street. Cons: YES, unfortunately there are some weird characters that rent the rooms. For the price you can't expect everything to be 100%. Not the safest "feeling" but overall there's enough parking for you to stay close to your room.

Accommodations were adequate. Clean enough to shower, use the bathroom, relax, and sleep. Felt safe enough to park my car in their parking lot, pretty well lit, and I could see my car from my hotel window. No luxury but you get what you pay for, would stay here if you need a place to crash for the night.

The room that we had was very clean and it's in a busy area. There's a lot of restaurants near by and it's right next to the freeway entrance. There's no parking fee with plenty of parking.

I made a reservation on their website that allowed for check in at 12:00. It makes NO mention of a $30 early check in fee. I get here just before 12 and the snooty receptionist said I hav to pay the early arrival fee or just wait. The reservation I told says the time of check-in and the total amount to be paid right here. She just kept repeating herself like a broken record. "It says it on the website there's an early check in fee. (At least 4 times) I said age should honor the details as noted in THEIR OWN WEBSITE. Neither a smile nor sunshine can be found here. Only snooty patootie. Update: I checked their website and there is NO MENTION of an early check in fee! Wrong again Snooty Patootie!

I have stayed at this hotel 2-3 times already every time I visit Riverside. I would say this hotel looks a little bit fancier and nicer than the other hotels in the area. It is a little pricey though, even when I use my UCR student discount. However, the rooms are very spacious. Beds are pretty comfy, there's a bathroom and a sink/vanity type of set up prior to entering the room where the actual toilet/shower are. Room has a small fridge and a TV with basic cable as well as desk where you can do work. They also provide free breakfast in the morning for all guests that you can get at the office. Another thing I like about this hotel is the outside lounge/smoking area they have. It's gated (you need your access card) so only adults can be there. It's a good spot to relax and take some time for yourself if you smoke.

I have dreamed…read moreabout getting married here for over 10 years after my favorite high school English teacher told me she got married here. Dreams really do come true, and I had the vintage wedding of my dreams! Carrie, Sam, Jillian, and everyone at Christmas House are now like family to us. All of our guests absolutely loved our wedding and the house, and said what a unique and cool venue it is. A lot of them said it was the best wedding they have ever been to and are still talking about it a year later. I wanted something completely different and personal compared to a country club, golf club, or hotel since I have been to so many weddings. Since we were planning from out of state, we also liked that so many things were included such as cake, DJ, etc. I loved that we had the whole place to ourselves for the whole wedding weekend and got to do the pizza party and overnight stay, as well as breakfast which was some of my favorite food of the weekend! I particularly recommend the quiche! We had some of our bridal party stay with us and they loved it. It was nice to spend some personal time with them before we jetted off to our honeymoon. Also military wives and brides: they have a military discount! I also loved that the Christmas House team worked well with our wedding planner Nicole at Olivar events. Our photos and videos also came out so wonderfully. Orlando the photographer and videographer (sorry forgot his name) made me feel like a queen and really helped with their calm vibes since I was anxious before the ceremony. I even asked for more footage now a year later and they obliged. They are awesome! I had a lot of stress leading up to the wedding including my original dress being ruined one month before and family drama. The whole team were literal angels in helping me navigate all of this and I'm actually really glad I wore my second dress because it was a warm June wedding and my second dress was much lighter and went better with our vintage theme! I believe everything works out for a reason in according to God's plan. I have never felt so happy and so loved as on my wedding day by my husband, family and friends, and our friends at the Christmas House. I would truly give the Christmas House 4.8 stars and only change two things about the wedding: I will say the food was delicious, and our cake that was included from Cucamonga Cakery was pretty and delicious. However, the only negative feedback we had from guests was that the plates of food were a little small. This may be a Spaggi's (their exclusive caterer for our sit down package) issue, and I would recommend it be closer to the tasting size. For myself, I would have slowed down getting ready and taken some more amazing photos around the bridal suite, the house's stained glass windows, and stairs, and I may still go back and do it as Carrie suggested! However, I am giving myself some grace as the wedding morning was very busy. Thank you, Christmas House for making me feel the most beautiful I have ever felt, and for celebrating our love with us on our very special day. It was a dream come true, and we will be back to visit soon! Love, Ty and Dorothy

Gail the manager, who has been there for only three months, was very nice and friendly and accepted us like family, they have their lobby filled with all sorts of snacks, coffee, tea, assorted fruits, fresh and delicious apples from the trees, chips, cereal and more, all open to the guests 24/7, she had even made homemade acorns with chocolate kiss on top, were delicious, all in all a great getaway, for sure a gem to be discovered.

The whole experience was great. Booking was super easy, pricing for the area was quite reasonable and then the actual space was super cute and fun. We stayed in the "Love Letter" room which had a fantastic view of the lake. The style was, as noted by previous reviewers, Victorian and beautifully done. We were greeted by Chris and given a tour of the spaces available to us which included a kitchenette stocked with snacks and goodies (midnight cereal, YES!), a wide selection of DVDs and board games. The room had a little fireplace, lounge room, large bathroom (no bathtub) and a super cozy bed. The ONLY thing that was less than perfect as that the blanket was a tiny stuffy smelling. We very much enjoyed this B&B. Be sure to check out the Belgian Waffle and the Village just across the way.

There's a fire pit and jacuzzi available. Our room was nice and cozy and we greatly appreciate the complementary note and gift. The only thing that wasn't working in the room was the TV. We just wanted some background noise and we kept finagling with it but no luck. We did let the front desk know and they're aware of the situation. We didn't have any issues with noise but maybe we were lucky and didn't have anyone else staying nearby. All the wine and food here is delicious.
