The hotel room was fine in terms of cleanliness, but our room was non-smoking, yet it reeked of cigarettes horribly. They told us that it was cleaned before we came, but the cigarette smell was absolutely unbearable. The guy at the front sprayed frebreeze and we opened the windows, but it didn't really help. I am pretty sure whoever stayed in the room previously smoked in it. I would not stay here again just due to the bad smell, which is too bad because the hotel is in a prime location for food and there is a private parking lot. read more

First of all we made a mistake and booked a smoking room. We called the front desk and they immediately gave us another room! Once inside this hotel had EVERYTHING... Fridge, microwave, mini living room, iron with board, hair dryer and even toothbrush and toothpaste with other goodies! Delicious Mexican restaurant next door and stores across the street. Cons: YES, unfortunately there are some weird characters that rent the rooms. For the price you can't expect everything to be 100%. Felt safe enough to park my car in their parking lot, pretty well lit, and I could see my car from my hotel window. It's an early rising place it seems, and the plumbing is rather loud (the drain sounded like a Mr Coffee when it finishes brewing) with pretty thin walls. It just seemed solid to me. Upon entry, NO Jacuzzi !!! I went back in office and told lady. She then said $202 for a Jacuzzi. I said, get the manager. The manager said the price for king with jacuzzi was a total of $202 00, but then said none were Available!!! I was very upset and dissapointed with staff and the manager. I was mislead and was not informed adequately of the availaibility and accurate pricing when booked. Very poor customer service. Even the 3rd party booking was horrible to work with..after charging me in full up front yesterday, they would not return my money today! Be aware its a scam with their booking service, no refunds. I have stayed at this hotel 2-3 times already every time I visit Riverside. I would say this hotel looks a little bit fancier and nicer than the other hotels in the area. It is a little pricey though, even when I use my UCR student discount. However, the rooms are very spacious. Beds are pretty comfy, there's a bathroom and a sink/vanity type of set up prior to entering the room where the actual toilet/shower are. Room has a small fridge and a TV with basic cable as well as desk where you can do work. They also provide free breakfast in the morning for all guests that you can get at the office. Another thing I like about this hotel is the outside lounge/smoking area they have. It's gated (you need your access card) so only adults can be there. It's a good spot to relax and take some time for yourself if you smoke. read more

I booked again for this weekend thinking I was going to have the same pleasant experience and booked to stay in a bigger more expensive room , the king size suite with a jacuzzi. I called to see if I can check in 10 ,20 mins earlier and spoke to the receptionist named Alejandra . She said she's going to let house keeping know I was checking in a few mins early but if they aren't ready I'd have to wait till 3 to check in ok I guess . I ended up getting there at the 3pm check in time and the room was still not ready they made me wait 45 mins and when I checked on the room again the lady cleaning the room said it will be ready in 30 mins wtf! So I went to speak to Alejandra and let her know I should have not wait 30 more mins for a room that should have been ready at 3pm when I was checked in . She decided to give me an attitude telling me that the cleaning ladies are going as fast as they can . I told her I understand that and she doesn't need to get loud with me I'm just trying to understand why it's taking so long? And the dumb bitch checked her tone after I got loud too . She did give me all my money back tho and my deposit which was the only positive thing out of the whole situation. So rude and unprofessional there's so many better ways she could have handled the situation instead of being rude and offering me a late 1 pm check out like wtf is that gonna do for me? I stayed here because i came to visit my grandpa and he didn't have enough room of the 4 of us to stay with him. we got this room last minute but it was very cute and charming. At check in, they told us our rooms were being cleaned and we could help ourselves to some complimentary coffee in the small little lobby. Once our rooms were done, they were very cozy and warm. The bed was king and so nice and firm but not too firm. I slept wonderful. Bathroom was a bit small but it was fine. They had a fridge and microwave. There was a 7/11 right across the street and several places to eat within walking distance. They had complimentary breakfast where they had some muffins, juice, cookies and homemade waffles-you have to make yourself but they are so huge! And very filling. Would stay here again! read more

We had a reading to do at UC Riverside, and stayed here at the last minute. Not only did we cash in with the SPECIAL PRICE of $74.00 (plus state taxes), we were also shocked to find a fully-stocked bathroom and complimentary water bottles already chilled in the room. My boyfriend had forgotten to pack his toiletries before we got on the road at 5 AM that morning, so we weren't exactly thrilled to be checking in before noon sans toothbrushes and facial soap. He was super-relieved to find not only a toothbrush, but also toothpaste, shaving cream, a sewing kit, and I got the makeup remover -- which I had forgotten to pack, too! I thought we had scored big time, considering the hotel from our last reading tour was more expensive and had actually demanded that we go down the stairs to grab both our in-room coffee packet as well as to iron our clothes. Dynasty Suites Over the last couple of years I've had to stay in Riverside several times. For example at the end of 2014 I booked a room at Day Inn Riverside Tyler Mall. That room was the pits. Now I've up-graded about one step and I'm at the Dynasty Suites on Iowa Ave. I'm normally not a picky person but there are several pros and cons to this place. On first impressions the hotel looks like a nice Mom and Pop Inn. The family members who run the business are nice enough, and our room is laid out nice with normal accommodations. It was clean and it had nice faux wood floor and granite counters. The lack of carpet is better than soiled worn carpet. The functionality of the room needs some TLC. The AC is loud, the bed is springy, towels are thin and limited to only one per person. One Yelp reviewer complained about the funky shower operation which I thought was funny until I tried to figure it out for myself. I wear glasses so me without my glasses, trying to read the instruction on how to turn on the shower was frustrating. If you book this room with a second person your sure to have toilet privacy when you're planted on it. There must be a mere 1/32 of an inch clearance between the doors swing and the lip of the bowl. Your knees will act as a door stop to keep your roommate out. I guess its a security feature in case of police raid or the zombie apocalypse. You can do as I did in the middle of the night and stub your tow on the toilet before you enter the bathroom! About the AC. The AC is like the Soup Nazi. But with the cool air. "No air for you!" The vents are not adjustable so you can't direct the air into the room and towards the bed. They simply push the cool air up into the curtains and the curtains retain all the air by the exterior window. Which would be fine if you wanted to fly your curtains as if it were a patriotic flag but it doesn't work well for trying to cool off the room. If only I had brought my staple gun I could have tacked them to the wall and solved this problem. The TV is bolted to the wall at an odd angel from your bed. It's not adjustable, and if it is there are no notes or signs telling you how to pull it out and angle it toward the bed or the love seat. You can hardly hear it over the AC. I kept turning it up but I figured my brother-in-law would start pounding on the wall telling me to turn it down. The lighting in the room is crazy. There are ceiling canister lights on both sides of the bed. Big bright can lights. Like the kind you expect find in a kitchen work space. But none, zilch, nada, reading lamps. It's all bright or nothing. If I have to do it again I'd stay somewhere else. read more

I arrived approximately 9 AM and was not able to check in at any other location even with offering to pay additional. The gentleman was very accommodating and although at first I thought the place was going to be Less then up to my standards it was shockingly very nice and well maintained. I stayed at Dynasty Suites for the the 28th, the 29th ,and the 30th. when we checked in the gentleman told us it was $100 deposit hold and $111.87 for each night. The breakfast was decent and somewhat cold. And the rooms are pretty old and outdated. And had a sour smell when you entered the room. The customer service is poor. When it came to getting the deposit back after over a week later. The gentleman that first helped us said it will be credited back in 3-5 days. We called the an the Manager Yvette called my mother in law a bitch and throw papers at me and said she would does not have to give us are deposit back. She sent a fake invoice to my mother-in-law email with her credit card information without her permission. We I came in to talk to the owner or to get his number. Lovely and comfortable place! Check-in was easy and quick. The gentleman at the front desk was friendly and nice. I was surprised by the ammenities in the room, definitely a plus! I'm a picky sleeper; I strugggle to fall asleep if I don't have my pillow. Unfortunately, I had forgotten my pillow, but their pillows were extremely comfortable, I was able to fall asleep. The room was very clean and smelled amazing when I walked it. For those who are breakfast people, breakfast is offered. Also, I like the fact that only guests are allowed to have access to the lobby in the mornings (you have to use your room key to enter). Overall, great stay and experience.
