Once you step inside you're taken back to the good old days when grandma made cookies and belly filling breakfasts (these are daily occurrences at the Inn). Antiques are artfully displayed throughout the halls and each room has its own theme and decor. Everything is colorful, clean, and comfortable; it's a wonderful and laid back place to relax and enjoy the Big Bear lifestyle. Along with daily breakfast and scrumptious cookies, the inn offers complementary beverages and popcorn as well as select alcohol for a price. Laurie, Kameron, Will, Ana (and a few others whose names I didn't catch) work hard to keep this place lovely inside and out. Everyone here is friendly and easy going for a truly welcoming stay. Slow down; easy to overshoot the two entrances from Moonridge. I stayed in the Crabapple room that faced the main road. While I felt safe, I did not want to open the window due to road noise. No fridge, microwave, or closet in room. Attractive decor throughout; it looks a bit overwhelming on the photos but is quite relaxing. The staff confirmed that the owner has a clear vision of what the decor should be. A couple had a wedding on the Saturday; they and some guests stayed overnight. It was good to see some of the wedding party at breakfast! Enjoyed stepping onto the paved Rathbun Trail behind the Inn for a short walk The Inn could adjust the security light to not switch on whenever someone drives down Moonridge. The road is busy, so the security light stays on until after midnight and then goes on and off.

I would consider staying here again but I would want to go in early Spring or late Fall when it is cooler because the cabins do not have AC and only a fan to blow on you. I was hot and tired from a long hike I did and it was really hard for me to cool down in the room and get a nap in unfortunately. The good news is that the room cools off as soon as the sun moves behind the cabin. The studio suite I was in was pretty well equipped. Keep in mind they ask you to not rely on housekeeping to take care of any messes you might make while you are there. Sometimes when you go on vacation you sometimes want to leave the chores at home but this lodge asks that you haul out your trash and respectfully clean all the dishes used for coffee, etc. I was fine with that but just something you should be aware of when about to check out. Also read the literature they give you at check in thoroughly . I didn't realize I needed to hang a parking sign on my parked car until I read the brochure at 5am the next day but lucky for me my car was still there. Also reading the literature in the envelope they mentioned check out was at 11 but the introductory email I was sent said 10, so there was that indecision as to how late I should sleep in to but I just decided to check out at 7 instead and save any headache and also get a jump on the crowds at Grizzly Manor Diner. Great place for families tho, lots of space to run around outside, bikes to ride around, campfires to sit around, and bring your swimming trunks too. Taking a dip in their pool is the instant solution to the air conditioning dilemma besides taking a cold shower. I'd give Noon Lodge 4.5 stars w the opportunity for 5 if they had some AC, but like I said, check the temps ahead of time and probably stay here if it doesn't get above 80 the days you come.

Downstairs was the kitchen, living room, bathroom with shower and a bedroom with a queen bed. Then upstairs, a loft with a twin over full bunk bed, then another bathroom with shower and a large bedroom with queen bed and a balcony overlooking the lake. There was a nice size pool with loungers, a few fire pits with chairs around, picnic tables, cute lighting, soft music. Games here and there like cornhole. Towels provided at the pool. Canoes that you can use. Just make sure to sign the waiver. We used the canoes everyday. No extra cost. Jesus was so helpful! Texted him a couple of times and immediately was there to help (like get the stuff for the canoe and turn on the fire pit, not any problems.) yeah the place is a little older but All of big bear is. It's outdoors. It's camping vibes. Sorry I didn't get more pics!

There is also a side and back patio that has the barbecue grill and a water fountain. Aside from rooms in the main house, there are also two guest houses that has been turned in to cabins.

We also had 2 other rooms booked in our party as well. Honey Bear is super close walking distance to get to the Village! There's nothing like fresh air, beautiful views when we step outside of our room, and close proximity to the essentials. Our loft lodge was spacious for the 5 of us. One bathroom- and plenty of toilet paper. LOL. Mini fridge/ coffee pot/ and microwave are inside the room. Wish I paid more attention to the microwave inside the room! There's an ice machine available inside the lobby. But remember, access to it is only during lobby hours of operation. We had some time to burn before the check in time- and before our motorcycle ride up the mountain- we did have lunch nearby. With that being said- after lunch, we still had some time to burn. Had no idea about the picnic area provided by the lodge! (This is what happens when I don't look at the property online). But, tons of picnic tables with shade umbrellas and not to mention the amount of abundant shade provided by the trees. I loved this property so much, I booked an overnighter for hubby & I.

The second-floor room had a very high ceiling. No air conditioning. They recommended leaving windows open at night to cool down. An open window works well, if hotel guests in the barbecue area are quiet and you do not have allergies. The housekeeper had not removed the previous guest's food from the fridge or emptied the trash can on the walkway outside the room. There were maintenance issues; management addressed them promptly so no need to repeat them here. Management stated that they were short-staffed.
