Bought a $600 Chainsaw from this place and it broke after 1 use. This company would not replace, repair or refund me for this chainsaw. Will never shop there again. What a terrible company to deal with.Also when asked if your store could repair it the employee constantly told me to take it somewhere else as your store is not equipped to handle simple repairs. I recently had my mower services at a Moe's run by E&H hardware. It was returned to my barely running. When they came back and picked it up they said they would get to it shortly. It's been two weeks. I called and was told that E&H corporate has severly cut their staff, no one is every available to even answer the phones, one of the two maintenance guys seems to driving all day doing on site work while one guy is left to try and fix everything people have dropped off. It's turned into a total SH$t show. I like the people that work at the store and I've been going here for 20 years but the cut to their workers will make me probably go elsewhere. My mower still sits there as I write this. It's been two weeks since they picked up my barely running mower (which was just returned to me two days prior) and my mower has yet to be looked at. Getting pretty pathetic. This is the Springboro, Ohio Location although when I called the Columbus location they said they have had the same cut backs and it's hurting their customers as well. read more

Ace is the place! Great hardware store that has pretty much anything you're looking for, at reasonable prices! I usually come here for fasteners...screws, nuts, bolts...they have a great selection and sell them by the piece. It's beats going to Lowe's or Home Depot where you have to buy a whole pack of them! They also have a good variety of Craftsman tools and a wide assortment of top of the line Stihl products, including blowers and chainsaws! They service all the Stihl products they sell and can also fix screen doors and windows. They have a nice selection of Weber grills and mulch and fertilizer during the spring and summer seasons. The paint center will mix and match your color of Benjamin Moore...what more could you ask for? The employees are super friendly and knowledgeable here and always greet you when you walk in. I just left this ACE and I promise I will never be back! I brought my STIHL backpack leaf blower in to get repaired over 2 months ago. When I dropped it off the guy priced out a new air tube because mine was crushed and said the part was $160 or something but he didn't know the labor or how much everything else would cost because that would be discovered when the technician took it apart and tested it so I said I wanted fixed and running and was told I would get a call next week to discuss what was wrong and how much it would be, 2 weeks and the call never came so I called and spoke with the technician who was very rude and aggressive and told me he hadn't even looked at it yet and I had to wait my turn and he'll get to it when he gets to it when I explained to him that someone assured me he would call me the following week so that's what I was expecting which his reply was that the other employee shouldn't have told me that. Then after over a month finally it's fixed so today I go to pick it up and pay for it and after I do I pick it up to leave and to my surprise the original reason I brought it in, that crushed tube, wasn't even fixed. When I say something to the young man helping me he asks the technician about it and I front of several employees and customers the technician again is very rude and aggressive and tells me it's not his fault because no one told him and "screaming and yelling about it won't get it fixed" when I didn't even raise my voice in the slightest and this is how a customer is treated?? Completely unbelievable and unprofessional! It's said because I live right around the corner from this location but now I will make sure to go out of my way to go elsewhere for any home improvement or garden need because of this, I have never been so disappointed and upset with a business more than I am today. read more

I stopped by this page to see if my experience today was an aberration. It seems it was not, as others have apparently had similar experiences. Earlier today, I returned a Bissell carpet steam-cleaning machine that my wife had rented a few days ago. As staff inspected the machine, they pointed to a strip of wet carpet lint that had accumulated on the underside of the machine, along with a small amount of carpet lint/dirt-water residue remaining in the empty water tank. I was told that there would be a "$15 cleaning charge," in response to which I replied, "okay, how about it I do it myself?" Instead of, "No worries, I'll take care of it for you, have a nice day, and thanks for doing business with us!" the clerk went behind the counter and handed me a box of paper towels. I then got down on my hands and knees in my business casual clothes and proceeded to wipe the bottom of the machine with a paper towel while the clerk stood there and watched. It took me all of about ten seconds. She then escorted me to a sink in the back of the store where I was told I could rinse out the tanks and bring them back up front. There was maybe one other person in the store - so it's not like I was being an inconvenience - but I SURE felt more like they just wanted to take my money than treat me like a valued customer. Further evidence in my view that customer service is all but dead. When I asked the clerk whether there was a "disposal fee" for throwing out the used paper towels, she smirked wryly at me, knowing precisely what I meant. Since moving to Avon Lake, I've bought everything from keys to light bulbs to sand paper to painting supplies from this store. Next time, I'll choose Menards. read more

What a little gem I forget about sometimes. Went looking for a cr2 battery and they have them at a very good price. CVS has the same battery for $10 more so I returned the and picked them up here. For some reason I forget about this place and head over to Lowe's which is a lot farther for little things. From now on, this is my go to place. They have a lot more than I thought they would have. I dropped a window off to get plexiglass put in. The man who took the window had very little information for me (price, how long it would take, etc were all a mystery) but took my order and said they would call when the window was done. A week later, still no call, so I called the store and was informed they hadn't got to the window yet. Another week goes by and I call back...still haven't gotten to it. Three days later I receive a voicemail informing me that they don't have a piece thick enough for my window. I picked the frame up, threw out the advertisement of some glass place in Berea they taped to the frame, took it to Lakeland Glass in Lorain and received my brand new window two days later. Everyone I dealt with was very nice or this would be a one star rating. read more

I am in love with the service. It was freezing cold and I came in looking for a screw for my front plate. The awesome man walked outside in the cold to figure out the size screw I needed and put my plate on for me. I only spent .98 and was treated like a queen. read more

Stopped by for some lawn maintenance. I'm not the greatest at lawn care but the staff here, particularly John I think his name was, helped me with all my issues. This place is unbelievable. The service is mind-blowingly horrible, the staff unknowledgeable, rude and the least bit helpful. They act as if they are do you a favor by letting you shop there. Easier to just go to the big box store now. read more
