Was suggested to stop by here by the owner of pet planet! This place was great! All the birds are very friendly very social & hand fed every day! The owners were just awesome. Showed us around & educated us on all the breeds & temperaments of the birds. They have these amazing birds called plum heads! Totally worth the stop by for them They're only 900$ too which is very very enticing. It is very clean here, all the birds are well looked after & the owners seriously are just superb. I'm so glad to see how well they take care of their birds I just want to say also that the owners seriously are just so awesome. They really love their birds & how they take care of them. I'd been looking for a parakeet/budgie for a while. Exotic Birds had just what I wanted. Very nice facility....clean and the owner genuinely cares about his birds. Five minutes after I got my little male budgie home, he was chirping and singing. This means he was well-cared for and healthy in the shop. Oh my.. I read really mixed reviews about this place so I went to check it out myself. Yikes. I adopted my bird from Plant World which is right next to the shop and decided to check it out after one of my visits back (to let my bird play with some of her old friends at plant world ). I walked in and it was just "wow", definitely a large selection of birds. But as I looked more, they're pretty cramped, take for example in my picture. I was only allowed to take that single picture before one of the ladies jumped on me basically saying there's no pictures allowed and I have to, quote from her, "delete it right now or we will refuse service to you". So even if you want to share a pretty bird you saw, you're not allowed to take a picture. In my picture I showed some insanely crowded cages? Like putting several families into a studio apartment those birds did not look comfortable. Then the owner.. he followed me around in his scooter the entire time. I felt so threatened and like I can't explain it. He made me feel awful, as though I was going to steal things and break stuff. I had my bird on my shoulder and he interrogated me asking for medical history and all that, when I've walked into many pet stores with her and never had the slightest issue. I left and immediately jumped on here to write a review because I have never left a shop and felt as though I broke out from chains. They really do manage to make you feel like a prisoner. I was appalled... it's Animal abuse, these people don't care about the well being of the birds, it's all about making a profit. They cram large Macaws into tiny cages, and they can't even move around or get any exercise, I wish I could rescue all of these poor birds from these horrible people. The living conditions of the large birds are inhumane. Then they clip the birds wings so short, that they can't safely land should they fall or need to land, it's by far the Worst bird shop I've ever seen. read more

Super helpful. Great deal on good quality cages. Makes their own feed which is great. Stayed open after closing because we could fit the cage in the car. So owner allowed us to hang out in shop while they were closing and we were getting a ride. Birds look very healthy. Got a 4 month old pineapple green cheek conure and it's absolutely beautiful. read more

They were polite but one star for the care of the birds. The parakeets need to be in cages and not plastic tubs!!! They were overcrowded. They need to swallow some funds and use a few of the large cages they have for these birds. Absolutely absurd. These birds are not kept in a humane way. I attempted to take a video but she immediately told me I wasn't allowed. That's a HUGE red flag. They're obviously trying to hide the mistreatment and lack of proper care. You're better off buying from Petco and that says a lot!!!!! read more

This isn't the best store to visit. Although there are lots of toys and varieties of bird food to purchase here, the door has been locked during business hours 4/5 times that I made the drive to pick up supplies for my parakeets. There are 3 other places that are not far that will be much better to visit. read more

I'm glad I did not listen to the reviews. First impression yes they greeted us but then that was it. So I was a tad flustered and confused but I'm not afraid to talk and ask so I did, and once I did the "I'm just checking" turned into a lifetime of service from me atleast. 1) he talked proper and knowledgeable to my mother and my girlfriend and with respect 2) he didn't push one sale onto me. 3) everything he said was correct I brought someone who knew a lot about birds so it helped me gain confidence. 4) after the sale my girlfriend was the happiest new bird owner , the lady and him went to her and gifted a bird toy to her as present for free! She was ecstatic! , I ran into a situation where the cage didn't fit my car...he offered to follow us and drive the cage to our house for us! But instead he stood open past closing time for me to get my bigger vehicle and come back...I have never ever met a more helping pet shop owner YET. And I've been to so many as I've have and had exotic animals and all types of pets. Bless this lady and gentlemen seriously. Nice place with nice bird selections, but highly overpriced. I saw a 5lb bag of cockatiel food for $18. other places sell the same food $1/lb. I was ok the guy seems nice so I'll buy it. I gave him cash and told him just sell me for $18 straight. He refused and also wanted to charge me the tax on top of the massive profit he's already making. I tried to haggle with him and he refused and tossed my money back, so he lost the sale. He's making a huge profit already and doesn't have customer service skills. Called in on a Saturday at 11:15 guy answers phone like Hello, I'm wondering if this is a business first impression. Told the guy I was looking for a peached faced love bird "for my 5 yr old daughters B Day" guy said they had them and closed at noon. Told him I'd be coming from Henderson so drove all the way down there 30min trip to find that they were closed when we got there at 12:05. Guy responds from his cell saying sorry I had a meeting. That's cool if you would of told me before I went that way. Long story short this shop is far from quality customer service. Got a disappointed 5 yr old daughter to prove it. read more

I want to start out saying, they have a wonderful selection of birds. All very healthy looking, and the cockatoo was a delight to see and talk to! However, you can't help but feel extremely uncomfortable in the store. The owner(s) watch you like a very angry hawk. They only said one thing to us, asking us if we needed help, and it just sounded so passive aggressive and like they did not want us there. It is one of the best selection bird shops I have been and ironically the worst service ever!!!! I was bringing my Eclectus for a grooming for $35, comparing the one on desert inn named the Sly parrot, unfortunately closed down n charged only $5 with genuine manner. They took my bird n did it inside one of their rooms. It was super uncomfortable and I was very regretted doing so! I asked them why do they have to doing it such sneaky way they called it " business secret"!!!!!! Anyways, god for but my bird acts fine after days! My mom and I have browsed the gentlemen in the "scooter" store at least (5) five times in the last 3 years and never bought a single thing. They were polite and hospitable ( all the staff). We bought a beautiful 3 month old cockatoo Sunday 8-25-13 for $1100. Got free toys and food and an awesome cage with wheels. He even gave us an extra discount for paying cash. Walked in and there were two females who didn't smile nor looked happy at all to be there, a guy in a wheelchair I'm assuming the owner greeted us but I got a bad vibe from him. Looked around and was told I need to hand sanitize my hands before I touch any birds, which I understand but his tone of voice was off. Then we asked him how much were his cockatiels and he tells me "$125" then 2 minutes later he blurs out "You can go to Petsmart, they will have cheaper birds" Okay? Rude? Bought a half moon a year ago from E&J. I had previously given them a good review but am changing it. He is happy and healthy but when we bought him, they clipped his wings so short that when he was startled he would fall like a rock and bounce (for a year straight). He has broken every new feather for a year, including blood feathers, and had to be taken to the vet for bleeding (corn starch saved his life). I recently found out that this is maiming the bird (cutting wing feathers that short). He is starting to get new wing feathers and we keep him in his cage 24hrs a day so they won't break until there are enough. He still has no tail feathers because they break off when he lands like a rock. E&J STOP TRIMMING WING FEATHERS SO SHORT. he let's out a squeak and had a bloody chest once from his falls. I didn't know this was not normal until speaking to other breeders. read more

Discovered this great shop when we decided to expand our avian family and acquire some needed education. The store is extremely clean and many of the birds are out of their cage in play areas for close interaction. Selection varies according to breeding seasons but there is always an amazing variety of species and unusual color variations making it a challenge not to return home with an extra "passenger" or two in the car after each visit. Birds are hand fed as babies and receive daily individual handling to make for easier taming. Contrary to some reviews, we found the owners to be not only friendly and knowledgeable, but very passionate about their birds. I went in there for the first time a few weeks ago and found 2 large McCaws stuffed into a small cage that they couldn't even fit in. Their tails were bent and there wasn't enough room for them to straighten them out or turn about the cage. They were really struggling and when I mentioned to him that the cages were way to small for these huge birds, he said that they are only in there to sleep, but it was still the afternoon when we saw them shoved inside and they had at least 16 more hours to go until the next business day. That is a long time for a bird to be shoved into an unfit cage. Seems like this type of place is all about breeding and getting as many birds in one place and not giving them proper care. If he cared about them than he wouldn't give them too small of cages. read more
