I lost my e-clip sunglass and needed another. I have Kaiser insurance and they said they would have to send my glasses in to get the e-clip made...depriving me of improved vision during that period. Kaiser suggested i go to the e-clip shop and they could make the clip-on while i waited. I decided to call before going there. The person who answered said they would only honor my Kaiser insurance if the order came to them directly from Kaiser. He said even though i had the Kaiser ID card and order form, if i drove to the factory I would have to pay full retail price, which is double the Kaiser price. Luckily I still had my previous pair of glasses to wear while Kaiser shipped my regular pair to e-clips. Otherwise, i would have been stuck with impaired vision for 2-3 weeks while waiting. read more

Recently received the flip sunglasses for my prescription. There is a design issue in that when removed, the metal arm that clips to my eyeglasses rubs against the lens in the optical area. This scratches the lens (especially when expecting to use it for a year or longer). I emailed the company twice with inquiries and solutions (after a phone call) and have received no response, which is incredibly disappointing for a "premium" product that originates from an optical shop, so they would understand that scratching an optical service is not okay. read more

I like the e-ciip I got for my prescription glasses. If you have glasses, they seem like a no brainer. They fit well are light, and look really cool. They seem slightly expensive however, given that you can get full prescription glasses and frames online for less than the cost of the e-clip itself. That said, for the utility of having sunglasses without having to buy and carry around a totally separate pair of prescription sunglasses, I think the E Clips is pretty nice. Note- inspect your e clip often, if you ever seen any metal on the mount points, you better take them in for a service, which I believe is free. The metal can scratch your eyeglasses. If you are local, I believe you can get them in person at their location over by Costco. They recently moved from the Richmond Marina Bay area, which I thought was a better location for them, but oh well. read more

I got my e-Clips Filp Ups custom made in a couple of hours. I called for an appointment and drove to their company to drop off my Ray Smith glasses. I spent the two or so hours touring the Richmond Harbor and had lunch in the same area. I received a cell call in abou 2 hours that my e-Clips were ready. They are great, well made and the mechanism high quality. The lense is also high quality and thicker than what is sold in stores. You can chose from various lens colors and qualities. I have had my E Clips sunglass clip-ons for a long time and love them. I have Transitions lenses that get dark in the sun but they don't get dark in the car so I need the sunglass clip-ons when I'm driving. I was going on a trip and noticed that the hinge on my case was broken. I always thought that the delicate E Clip would break but it never did. Sometimes I would forget that I had put it in my jacket pocket but it was strong and nothing ever happened to it. I contacted E Clips and Trixie took care of me and I got a replacement case in a few weeks, just in time for my trip. Trixie, thanks for all your help! E Clips have a new BLUETECH line of clip-ons that cut out the harmful high energy blue light from cell phones, ipads, and computer screens. My eyes have been getting more sensitive to blue light and I also have a hard time staying a long time in rooms that are lit by fluorescent lights. I attend a lot of meetings and by the end of the meeting my eyes ache so I will definitely invest in a pair of Bluetech clip-ons. read more

I have been wearing eclips since 2003 and love them! My eyes are somewhat sensitive to sun glare, so I've always worn sunglasses (over my contact lenses) or sunglass clips (over my metal-frame eyeglasses). When I got a pair plastic frame eyeglasses in 2003, my optician at the time told me about eclips. He told me he would send my new glasses to eclips in CA, and eclips would make clip-on sunglasses to the exact size and shape of the lenses in my glasses. Not only that, but they could make them using polarized lenses (my, and my optician's preference). When I received my eclips, I was "hooked!" They worked great, and everybody who saw them wanted a pair because they looked great, and blended so seamlessly with the glasses. I've gotten a few more pairs of eclips since that first pair (to go with new eyeglass frames), and was always very happy I had them as an option. A couple of years ago, I started wearing that pair of eyeglasses from 2003 again (with new lenses), and started using my trusty-old first pair of eclips again as well. They are still going strong today! I often receive many compliments, comments, and questions from people who see me pop my eclips on or off. They think they are the neatest thing, and all these years later, I still do, too! I've recently been in contact with Nancy at eclips and she could not have been more helpful. Not only are eclips themselves really terrific, but the people who work for them are pretty terrific as well. That means a lot to me. I've had my e-clips for a few months now and they work pretty well. The salesperson suggested I get the basic version so I ordered them and ran a few errands before picking them up a few hours later. Unfortunately, I could see the reflection of my own glasses (I have a hi-index prescription of -5.0 diopters) so they agreed to remake them, at no charge, with the anti-reflective lenses. I guess most people prefer the normal lenses but I am very happy with my revised pair. I would get another pair as the quality of the construction is great and they've earned my repeat business. read more
