The E-Lux brand is great and you can read lots of reviews that attest to that so I want to talk about the people behind the bike! I bought my bike at the Fountain Valley assembly plant and had a wonderful experience. Everyone here are down to earth, very friendly, helpful, supportive and cooperative. Just real people doing a real good job. It was a great experience so I recommend buying here if you are local. Oh Yeah... I love my bike too... I bought the Sierra model! Super happy with the bike. Sturdy, manageable and fun to ride. I especially like the thumb throttle control for an easy start out or fast energy boost to avoid people, cars and other collision obstacles. Many bikes do not have that. read more

Apparently Elux has gone out of business?? I don't have social media but it appears as though this company has closed done. We are an E-lux family and have bought around 5 bikes and have referred all of our friends (unfortunately!) we told them it's the best e bike business in the area and the staff are amazing!!! Now there's no where to get our very pricy bikes serviced. What happened or where did you guys go??? I litteraly just bought the bike. It came on low battery I rode it once . Went to charge it was going to go on a bike ride right now . The bike is fully charged but won't turn on . I really wanted to get a power assisted bike and checked out a selection from Trek, Specialized, Huntington Beach Bike Co., Pedego, Rad Bikes, and The Electric Bike Company. Jerry really helped me out. I ended up getting two Malibu GT Bikes, one for me and one for my Brother. His vast knowledge on bikes in this category was very helpful and I was particular about having a bike that had good top end speed, extended battery life, a throttle, and was solidly built. He was very patient with me and spent an hour answering all my questions and ensuring I was getting a bike that was aligned with what I was working for. Note: Definitely need to plan ahead to see and test ride a bike unlike some other places that allow walk-ins. When I came back to pick up the second bike JP was super cool and gave me a little history about the company and even threw in a bike lock for my trouble of having to come back to pick up the second bike. Definitely made me feel good again! Update: I have been on the bike several times in the last two weeks and I couldn't be happier with the ride. I drove a couple times by E-Lux and thought I had to go back and check out their bikes. Yesterday I went with my son (12 year old) and he tried the Sierra. He liked it right away!! Do NOT buy from this establishment. Hell, I came in with cash and was treated with utter disdain and disrespect. All I can say is, demand must be high enough to overshadow the absolutely disgusting indifference with which customers are treated by this establishment. A friend of mine just purchased two bikes a few days ago. I rode. I was interested. On Friday afternoon I took off work a bit early and stopped by the bank to grab cash for the purchase of two bikes. I drove 20 miles and walked into this store. Two younger men were sitting behind desks at the door. One of them was chatting on his phone with what sounded like a friend and not necessarily a business call. The other sat in his chair as I loitered, hoping to draw his attention to at least be greeted. A young lady had come to retrieve her bike which was in need of some parts replacement. When I told him what I was looking for he started to help me and then returned to helping the young lady. I went to the rear room, which I assumed was the showroom and was left alone. An older gentlemen came out and asked if I was being helped. "No, actually...it seems I have been abandoned midstream." I then went on to explain my specific interests and inquire as to availability. This gentleman told me that my model was not currently in stock. I then asked when it would be in. He said he was unsure. I asked him if he could please inquire and find out a general target date for delivery. He then went into a corner office and asked. He returned to tell me, "looks like late August or September sometime." Seeing this as somewhat vague, I expressed interest in purchasing two of the models in question. I then asked if he could take my number down and call me once they arrive. This is where things take a bit of a turn... He flatly told me no, but that I could call back. Somewhat flabbergasted, I explained that it would be much better if he could call me when they arrive and I would come in at that time and buy two. He refused. I stated that I am TRYING to buy bikes from him and it seems strange and unprofessional that he wouldn't be willing to take my number and contact me. He told me that it doesn't matter because they sell 600 bikes a month! Wow! Imagine telling a customer that their purchase doesn't matter!! He then went on to say, "well, it sounds like you want to buy a bike so you'll probably find something else you like by then anyway so...". SERIOUSLY!! THIS RUDENESS ACTUALLY TRANSPIRED! I explained to him that I have been a business owner for 37 years and if my clients want to purchase from me, I will do my utmost to take good care of them. As it is, you're treating me disrespectfully as if my business doesn't matter and isn't worth your time. He basically replied that my business doesn't matter!! I don't know about any of you but my money is something which business owners should both honor and work for. This guy was a mindless drone, utterly lacking professionalism. The entire place was more than merely "casual". There was a noticeable lack of interest in or care for the clientele. I find such disinterest appalling, quite rude, and a hallmark telltale omen of future certain failure. Once the other young man was off the phone, he got on one of the bikes and drove around the shop, entered from the back, and rode through the shop and out the front door again...Playtime! It seems like this place is run by children who are more interested in their own fun and games rather than seriously servicing clients and imbuing a sense of professional comportment. I walked away with $5000.00 in my pocket and zero bikes to show for it...despite my best earnest efforts to effect a sale. Rest assured, not only will I never ever do business with these uncaring jackasses, I will tell everyone I know to PLEASE go elsewhere. I am currently suggesting that you take your business elsewhere. It seems as if these same bikes can be found at competitive prices under differing brand labels. My strong suggestion is to show these jerks that money alone doesn't define success. Customer service and caring for your clients is how successful businesses are built and maintained. Once this current trend has waned, I look forward to dancing on the grave of this business. They will most certainly not succeed in the long term...at least not by treating customers so meanly and carelessly. As I said, do yourselves a favor and take your business someplace where it will be valued. Money speaks louder than words. Let your voice be heard in the only way these people can understand! read more

So far so good. I was luckily enough to buy my bike before the price went up due to supply chain issues. I bought the Tahoe fat tire bike and love it! I am tall (6'6") and this bike fits me perfectly. Down to the beach and back in 30 minutes! I recommend getting bike insurance to cover the cost of your bike in case it gets stolen. This is simply the best hi-powered electric bike under $3000 and probably over $3000. I did extensive research on electric bikes and styling, power, features, and functionality, this was by far the best electric bike. The customer service is excellent. My bike came with a small damage impact due to a bad shipper who trashed the box. Now that usually doesn't happen but in my case it did. Yet the bike was amazingly protected except for this small impact. And the impact hit through the box and right between the extremely well padded and protected frame foam. It was a one in a million exact impact that managed to hit between the 2 foam protection pieces. It was the size of your pinky finger nail. Most companies would have just sent you out some touch up paint and that's it. Not this company. Their customer service was fantastic. I live 5 hours away and they drove me out a brand new fully put together bike. I couldn't believe it. It doesn't get any better than that for customer service. After doing extensive research on what would be my 2nd ebike, decided on the Sierra GT Folder. Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon to buy one on pre-order (bummed I'd have to wait 1-2 months for delivery/pick up) to my surprise they had one on display as a demo (had a 1/2 inch scratch)..... I was told I couldn't buy it that day, needed to come back talk to the boss-man or boss-woman. Showed up 9:15am today spoke to Jen (boss-woman), got a bit of a discount, then met a co-owner Jerry, and Kyle helped me with literally no paperwork. Jerry and Kyle insisted I test ride before loading in my car..... l rode 100 yds and was STOKED! (My other ebike is a 500w motor) this 750 watter what a solid well made bike! I just realized I've had my bike over 5 months at this point and I really should get around to writing a review, so here it is. Something to keep in mind: A chunk of this will be centered around the fact that I'm a pretty big dude, and part of why I got this bike was because I needed one that could easily handle my weight, plus groceries and everything else. For perspective, I've now put 1500 miles on this thing, so I feel overall fairly familiar with it. The bike I purchased was the E-Lux Tahoe Sport Limited Edition, in orange. This is the big fat tire bike with the 750 watt motor, 48V/21A battery, front suspension and a nice little gel cushioned seat. The arrival: The bike is shipped like freight, so while you'll see an arrival date in the shipment data, that date (or the day before) is generally when the freight company will call you and then make an appointment for when they can bring it by (probably a couple days later). The bike arrived in a giant rectangular box and once I got the whole box opened up, I was delighted to see that I had very little work to do. All the cables were connected and basically everything was put together, the only thing left for me to do was slip the handlebars in and tighten them up. First impressions: My first thought was.. this thing is massive. Like truly massive, it is larger than I thought, and it weighs quite a bit. It looks amazing though, and everything about it felt (And still feels after all these miles) very, very solidly built. This thing was made to be tough and it shows. It is also pretty tall, and I would suggest that if you have short legs, get the step through version. I'm a bit over 5'10 (with somewhat short legs for my height) and I can just barely get on/off this thing or and when I'm stopped at a light I'm on my tiptoes. Overall: I absolutely love riding this bike. It's -fast- and zippy, and the size and weight actually make it feel more sturdy. Between the shocks, the bouncy seat post and the fat tires, it handles roads and trails really amazingly. I regularly go for 20-30 mile (round trip) rides on the weekends, sometimes to the next town over to catch a meal or movie, and then home, and it holds up wonderfully. Considering I can easily go 25mph on the roads it tends to actually get me there almost as fast as driving and with a lot less hassle sometimes. Other bits: I've mentioned I'm a pretty large guy, and I carry a very heavy lock, along with some panniers and other gear on the bike. Overall in my experience it can easily go 30 miles with heavy assist (3 or 4 out of 5), and quite a bit further if I work harder myself. Someone smaller than me could get closer to double that. Adjust your suspension fork and seat suspension! Both have adjustments where you can make them more or less firm. The front suspension doesn't do a ton for me at my weight, but the seat post is awesome, I just had to crank the setting up high. I can drop off a curb and just feel a nice light little bounce! Keep your fat tires inflated closer to their max PSI when you know you're gonna be all on pavement. You'll get a lot more range! One last bit - when I first called to start asking some questions about the bike (while in the still-browsing phase), I had the opportunity to talk with JP (one of the cofounders). He was extremely nice, and knowledgeable, he didn't try to push a sale, just talked to me about things I wanted to know about the bikes and what I was looking for. After that I talked mostly with Steph through the purchase and shipping process. She was extremely awesome to deal with (and had some good music recommendations, too!). Overall I can't recommend both the folks at E-Lux and the bike enough. read more

My daughter's boyfriend's family invited me to go bike riding. They owned 4 E-Lux bikes. I got to ride the Tahoe version. I had a blast!! We rode from Beach & PCH all the way to Balboa & back. I hadn't been on a bike in probably 30 years so I was worried I would break my muscles lol. I didn't really need to use the peddle assist very much because it was an "easy ride"... I did "play with" the throttle...omg... soooo much fun!!! I got it up to 28 mph... I'm "pretty big" so I was surprised I got it going that fast with my weight... the boyfriends mom has knee problems so she got a step-through... loves it...was worried her knees would give out & she wouldn't make it back to the car... not any more... I ended up buying a Sierra off of Craigslist... some rich kid wanted an upgrade so they were selling his 6 month old Sierra with less than 500 miles on it... the Sierra is a little smaller than the Tahoe but it's just as much fun!! The "range" is a few miles less than the Tahoe but since it's a bike too you just have to be careful you don't go too far without killing your battery if you're worried about getting tired... the first trip I did on it was from San Clemente State Park all the way to San Onofre State Park & back!! I'm tempted to buy my husband one so we can go riding together but he's turning up his nose at it...his lose!! My advice to anyone looking to buy an e-bike, go to the e-bike store in Fullerton & test ride several different ones...I only rode the E-Lux bikes so I can't tell you about any of the other brands out there...anyways, next decide what your price range is & then invest in a good lock... I lock mine in the shed... but when I go riding, the boyfriends family has a really heavy duty "chain" & locks to lock all the bikes together so no one takes off with them... read more

After researching electric bikes and watching a zillion you tube videos, I decided I wanted to test ride two, the E-Lux Sierra GT and the Aventon. I was able to find both at a local bike shop in Santa Monica and the E-Lux Sierra was my favorite by far! My husband and I went to the headquarters in Fountain Valley so I could see all the colors they offer. We met Carina first, she was so sweet and helpful, she brought both sizes outside for me to test ride and answered all my questions. Then as we were checking out, we met the owner JP, who was fantastic and made us feel so welcome. Everyone wore masks and practiced safe distancing, so we felt very comfortable. JP even said he would give the local bike shop credit for the sale since that was where I first rode the bike, WHAT A GREAT GUY! I highly recommend them! read more

Not a busy store when I went in I doubt the sales people were ready for an old (I am 67) short woman wanting to buy a big old electric bike. They gently told me I was on the shorter size so a step thru was best and that I would need some special adjustments to make it fit my frame! We chuckled through all the uncomfortable questions of height and strength and settled on a Malibu step through. I just purchased two new Malibu GT bikes. For the last two years, We have had the Newport model. My wife and I write every weekend and love these bikes. The Malibu GT has better brakes, suspension, faster, and an even bigger battery that translates into much longer rides and more power. Even the seat was upgraded and is more comfortable. I was really happy when an ebike manufacturer moved into our neighborhood. That would mean that repairs and maintenance could be done on site and quickly. The concern I have is the low quality tires that eLux uses. My son, who rides his bike on regular streets (not construction sites or off-road), had his first flat tire within the first week of ownership. He has had his bike approximately 4 months now and we have had four flats at least. Each one is very costly so we opted for a stronger tire and it didn't last any longer. When we spoke with eLux they said we are lucky because other customers have had more flats than we have! Also, while one owner is really nice, the other needs to brush up on his customer service skills. I'm still glad eLux is local to us, just wish there was a better solution as tire repairs are costly. read more

I've ridden the Tahoe and the newest foldable fat-tire eBike, the Sierra. The motors are super quiet and have great power. I was really impressed with E-Lux team behind the bikes and their uncompromising workmanship. These eBikes feel strong and sturdy without feeling clunky. With a top speed of 20+ mph, these bike can fly! The Tahoe is a legit beach cruiser with style and comfort for full day rides with pedal assist making the ride sheer joy. The Sierra is a flat black, foldable FAT tire beast on the trails! Negotiating potholes, rocks, hills and any obstacle is a breeze. I rode it on THE SAND. Yes, all 220lbs of me had no trouble zooming along the beach. Note: Just stay clear of the water...cuz, you know...it's electric. If you do get it wet or muddy, just be wise and keep her clean. JP and his crew have built a fantastic business. They were around long before all the cheap foreign bikes flooding the market and back their product with outstanding service. I first bought a Newporter e-bike in 2016 for my then 13 yo son. He's off to college now and I still ride it to office 3 times a week (18 miles round trip) without any issues. Bought other brands in interim for other kids (Super73, etc) and the issue is always the service (where and how much) From a TCO perspective - you cannot beat ELux, especially if you are in Southern CA. Most recently purchased 3rd ELux and enjoying it immensely. Will never buy another brand! Thanks guys! read more
