Well, there is nothing quite like having your first sushi experience after Japan be at a revolving…read moresushi place in a strip mall in San Antonio! But hey, this is what the birthday girl wanted, so this is what she got. We came here after a full day at Six Flags, starving, and hunger definitely made for the best sauce. One thing we have to say about Wild Goji that is A+++: they have Hitachino yuzu ON DRAFT!! Hitachino is one of our favorite breweries, and we had tried this version when we are in Japan, and could not believe our luck finding it here! It's worth the price of admission alone. As for the food, well, it is what it is. Honestly, it's not terrible, but you can tell you're not getting the creme de la creme (unsurprisingly). We mostly stuck to tuna and salmon, but we did appreciate their spicy garlic edamame (not spicy at all) and their spicy seaweed salad (slightly spicy). We ordered tempura that we had to send back because the sweet potato wasn't fully cooked. Some of the dishes on the conveyer belt definitely looked unappetizing (like the omelet roll) and since we were towards the middle-end of the restaurant, we had to wait a while for food to come our way. Service is minimal, but the atmosphere is boisterous because these kinds of places are fun. We were smart to make a quick reservation on our way from Six Flags because the place was slammed by the time that we left. Three stars, but it'll remain a fond memory celebrating our daughter's 9th birthday.

Drinks are strong and tasty while the food is fresh and flavorful. I appreciate that they have several vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options. This visit, I stopped by with some co-workers for lunch. They have a few lunch specials, including the tofu with Impossible Mapo Sauce. The tofu was lightly breaded and sautéed and covered in vegetarian Mapo sauce, which I haven't found at any other SA restaurant. The lunch dish was also served with steamed rice and a vegetable spring roll. My co-workers had the lunch chicken cashew , pork belly, and shrimp fried rice, which were family style served in large portions. Our server, Stephanie took great care of us. The decor reminds me of a trendy artist's home. There is free parking in the Pearl parking lots before 3pm on weekdays.

Only complaint is the acoustics make the place really loud. Tough to have conversations or hear the server. Parking: We parked at Pullman Market, grabbed a cookie, and had our parking validated for 2 hours. It was an easy walk over to the restaurant. Food: We're vegetarian and ordered the garlicky noodles and mapo tofu. The garlicky noodles were SO good--definitely our favorite. Portions were generous too, and we had plenty of leftovers. Overall, a really great lunch!!

Walking in here reminded me of places we ate - the Texas sized Buddha made it easy to remember that we were still in Texas. The smells, the food, the service was very reminiscent of being in Thailand. Being Friday, we started with the potatoe soup (only available on Fridays). It was tasty even though there was nothing "Thai" about it. The large bowl fills 4 of the cups with a little left over. The crunchy wonton strips were hot, crispy with a nice sweet and sour sauce. The wife had pineapple fried rice, one of her favorites at any Thai restaurant, they did not disappoint. I had the chicken larb salad, medium spicy, and it delivered spice and the citrus acid from limes, very good. Portion sizes are generous. After the soup course, my wife and I are bringing about half of each entree for tomorrow lunch. Service was prompt and it's worth another visit, even at 45 minutes away from where I live. Pro Tip: scan the QR code at the table to get the menu. They don't keep their paper menus current with either prices or choices, probably the only knock I have against this place.
