    Spring Roll(Deep-Fried) (Yum!!)
    Alma V.

Recommend: Yes Food: Had the spring roll and the Chiang Mai Noodles (Khao Soy). It consists of a thick orange colored sauce/gravy, skinny egg noodles stir fried with a curry. Served with fresh red onion, green cabbage, purple cabbage, cilantro, and lime wedge on the side. Topped with crispy egg noodles. It is a big portion of food, so filling, but light at the same time. Love all of the flavors and the crunch of the cabbage and noodles. It's definitely worth a try! The spring rolls came in fresh and I love them with some fish sauce and the fresh crispy lettuce. Soooo good! Service: Super fast and friendly service! Ambiance: Very homey and welcoming. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.

Great food and service! The twice fried spring rolls. The service is amazing and the tom yum was delicious. The pad woonsen had a strange aftertaste, otherwise it was on point.

The food was amazing and this was definitely an authentic Thai restaurant, and the staff was super friendly

I definitely recommend a place. It has a cute outdoor seating. Inside is also cute. It's a huge space. The food was amazing. We ate the fried red snapper fish, combination pad Thai and papaya salad. And servers and people were all very friendly.

The best Thai food I've had in a long time!! Service was friendly and the restaurant is spacious with a cute patio with a tiny pond with koi fish! I ordered the panang curry (spicy) and loved the curry sauce. The Thai iced tea was okay .. not as sweet as I'm used too, would love to come back to try other dishes!

Came here this past week with a friend and was pretty excited about it. The place was decent looking and the people were nice. We were seated fairly quickly and thought ambiance was nice (was loud though with people talking loud near us couldn't hear half the time). They had a QR code at the table you scan to check the menu which was cool. It was interesting they had paper covering the table as cloth but I spilled some stuff and was grateful they didnt have to wash it. I ordered the Thai ice tea which tasted alright. I also ordered the fried spring rolls and those were soooo good! Very crunchy and good taste to them. Would absolutely get those again. I ordered chicken pad thai and it was alright. I really liked the chicken it was cooked perfectly for me. The noodles however, were not my favorite and tasted a bit sweet for my liking. I would consider coming back here to try again but order something else instead. Overall not a bad experience and recommend for folks to try as alot of the food I saw looked really good.

Had curry and pad Thai at lunch specials! Great food , friendly staff and great atmosphere!

Tong's Thai Restaurant is a fantastic spot for authentic and flavorful Thai cuisine. Every dish we tried was delicious! The "Lao Papaya Salad" was fresh, tangy, and had just the right amount of spice. The "Vegetable Stir Fry with shrimp, chicken, and beef" was perfectly cooked with a great mix of flavors and textures. The "Tom Kha (coconut & lemongrass) chicken soup" was rich, creamy, and incredibly comforting. The "deep-fried spring rolls" and "white spring rolls" were crispy, fresh, and flavorful for appetizers. Of course, we had to pair everything with a refreshing "Thai iced tea," the perfect sweet and creamy complement to our meal. Tong's Thai is the place to go if you're looking for excellent Thai food with great service. I highly recommend it! The ambiance is amazing. Note that parking is a bit scarce. Other than that,Tong's Thai restaurant has incredible food & great service!

    Great Thai Ice Tea!

I spent time in Thailand and loved the food! Tong's is as authentic as it gets! I had the seafood soup it was chock full of mussels, squid, octopus, scallops and chunks of fish! The chicken satay was the best! The dessert of fried bananas and coconut ice cream. The ambiance is rustic Thai, similar to one might find in a village. The service was attentive yet not unobtrusive!!

Everything was delicious! Great value, extensive menu, everything fresh and comes out piping hot. The service was a bit slow but they did warn me beforehand that they were swamped with to go orders. If you are in a rush you can order to go through a separate entrance.

Ordered delivery so can't say much regarding the ambiance or service. Food was amazing. Been looking for something as close to authentic Thai food as possible in San Antonio and this was probably the best one yet. Portions were very generous. My particular favorite was the pad see ew. Noodles were cooked just right with great texture, ratio of veggies and protein were balanced, it was not heavily sauced, and calibrated to the spice level of my liking. Will be ordering from here again.

We wanted to celebrate my friend, Jane's birthday and had her choose the restaurant. She wanted to eat Asian food and she chose @tongsthai on Austin Highway. Jane tried the Thai Iced Tea and her husband, Eric, had the Thai Lemonade, which is a Thai version of the Arnold Palmer. We had the Pad Thai with shrimp, Land Combo Fried Rice (with chicken, beef, pork), Deep Fried Whole Red Snapper, Chiang Mai Noodles (Khao Soy) with beef, and Smoked Brisket Fried Rice. The portions are huge and intended for family-style sharing. Everything was delicious and we had extra food to take home to enjoy again. Nyuk was our pleasant server, who took care of everything from start to finish.

It doesn't matter the meal, Tong's always hits on another level. One of the few restaurants I actually crave and routinely visit. Favorite Meal: white springs rolls (chicken & shrimp mix) along with the 4 Aces Soup. Sushi is really good, but I prefer sticking to the more "traditional" menu when visiting. Patio dining is a whole different experience and really makes you feel like you're on a smallish island. Big groups or little groups, I always enjoy Tong's Thai. **get Toast app for the rewards**

Does Tong's cook all of their food in fish sauce? I'm allergic to seafood but love Thai food.

We didn't realize this place was a cousin of Shiro and owned by the same guy until we saw some similarities in their style, layout and menu but nevertheless, the food was still absolutely amazing. Even though the ambiance had some similarities, I'm glad their food options were distinguished because otherwise could have just gone downtown. You cannot go wrong with any of their food options. Highly recommend doing family style so you can get a taste of everything and all the different flavors. We started with the gyoza and calamari which were to die for and were not greasy at all. Pork ssam, wagyu, miso pasta and octopus all brought a little bit of their own element and flare to your palate that it's hard to describe unless you try it. Wagyu was just melt in your mouth delicious. Pork ssam and octopus had their crunchy texture and umami flavors. The miso pasta added a light refreshing touch to balance everything out but don't let it fool ya, the noodles will expand in your stomach. We topped it off with their yuzu cake. Our only disappointment was they were out of their other desserts but nevertheless everyone of us left full and happy. Would come here again.

When I first read about Yozora, I honestly thought it sounded a bit pretentious. Fascinating, but…read morepretentious. Because the idea of music being an actual integral part of the dining experience--not just some kind of background noise--felt a little precious for my taste. I'm glad to admit I was wrong. So let's start with the ambiance and the vibe of Yozora. It's in a fairly non-descript kind of center; not bad but not specially memorable. But the space itself is open and has an air of restrained sophistication. And then there's that hi-fi set up. The music at Yozora really is part of the experience, but it's not intrusive in the way that you'd think. Most of what my dining companion and I heard was 50s and 60s jazz, and it was perfect for the occasion. Sushi and Coltrane are a great mix, and even though we were not far from the hi-fi system, I could hear every word of our conversation, without the need for either of us to raise a voice. Somehow, it's like the music operates on a different frequency from regular table chatter. Suffice to say, the music enhanced the mood and really set a scene for Yozora's chefs to tell some stories. And that, they do really well. We started out with seasonal tempura and miso masu ceviche--ocean trout marinated in miso, soy, and lime juice--that was sublime. But funnily enough, the real star small plate was a truffle creamy miso soup that was earthy and slightly sweet at the same time and was silky in texture. From there, we ordered a series of crudo and battera, each unique in its own way. It was wonderful stuff, accompanied by a rice lager. The kitchen at Yozora is not shy about experimenting with non-traditional flavors and ingredients. Sometimes it works really well; sometimes, not as well, but it's never bad, and the servers actually ask for feedback for the kitchen, which is something I rarely see. Yozora honestly seems to be most concerned with creating a great dining experience, and it does that, from the chefs to the line cooks to the servers (who are helpful and attentive without hovering). The music, the mood, and the menu add up to a memorable experience.

I was immediately annoyed because the music was very loud to me. That could have been due to the empty restaurant, the actual volume or my perception of the volume lol. I was really hoping for a more intimate vibe for conversation. The speakeasy lounge actually looked more like the vibe that I desired but I settled in and placed my order. I wanted some of the showier selections seen on IG, so I ordered the tuna tower and flaming Romeo & Juliet roll and a cute (albeit sweet) cocktail that came in a goldfish shaped glass. When the tuna tower arrived the young server asked me something several times which I couldn't hear over the music, so I just nodded. After she smashed the tuna tower, I figured out she was asking if I wanted it mixed. Lol my bad! I actually did not want it mixed but it was delicious anyway. The Romeo and Juliet roll took forever to stop flaming but once it died down, it was absolutely delicious. My partner enjoyed his roll as well and they gave him a complimentary birthday desert with sparklers. Overall I give service a 3. I would have liked a more professional presentation of the menu, hyping it up a bit. And a less soft spoken server. The food was a solid 5, everything was fresh and scrumptious. Overall I give Uni'ko 4 stars and I look forward to returning. I thought it was a good value given the extra razzle dazzle and food quality.

Could be a nice, intimate place for dinner though we were seated next to a pretty loud group. Service was fast and friendly, which was appreciated. The meal itself was decent, not great. Tried the masago and snow crab off the sushi menu; the former was good, but the latter strangely dry, as if it had sat out a little too long. An appetizer portion of the shrimp and vegetable tempura was very good. Particularly puzzling was the unagi roll. Not only did each piece of the roll fall apart, it was doused with so much eel sauce that it was hard to taste anything else. Looking back on it, I should have sent it back to the kitchen. Of note was the tempura banana dessert, which was a sort of Japanese take on a sundae! Putting crisp, hot chunks of fruit up against sweet vanilla ice cream, sprinkles, and chocolate syrup (not berries as the menu claimed) was...well, interesting. I probably wouldn't order it again, but it is novel. Average it out and it's a decent place, though I would only come again if I was in the area for something else to begin with.
