Long overdue review for Best Quality Daughter. Have been here many times for happy hour and my best friend had her bachelorette dinner here. Drinks are strong and tasty while the food is fresh and flavorful. I appreciate that they have several vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options. This visit, I stopped by with some co-workers for lunch. They have a few lunch specials, including the tofu with Impossible Mapo Sauce. The tofu was lightly breaded and sautéed and covered in vegetarian Mapo sauce, which I haven't found at any other SA restaurant. The lunch dish was also served with steamed rice and a vegetable spring roll. My co-workers had the lunch chicken cashew , pork belly, and shrimp fried rice, which were family style served in large portions. Our server, Stephanie took great care of us. In order of the pictures, we got the roasted Brussels sprouts ($14), super garlicky noodles ($13), impossible potstickers ($11), my friend got the overachiever ($14) and I got the salted Thai limeade ($7). Honestly, everything was super yummy and tasted so good, maybe just really pricy considering the amount of food we get. My favorite was probably the roasted brussels sprouts and I would def come back just for those alone. Came here post gradation as it was the restaurant my daughter selected - it's been a while since we have been here and we were excited to go back Food is amazing- only reason I have it as a 3 star is the service is underwhelming and a solid 1!! We ordered 2 cocktails, a lemonade and a mocktail - that took 15 minutes longer than everyone else so the toast to the grad who ordered it was delayed as appetizers came out before her drink Timing was also way off - we were asked what appetizers we wanted shortly after being seated and when we did order and told them we would start with the smaller bites and order the mains for later - everything came out at the same time except for one dish that was way later than everything else So before food let's talk service - it was a special graduation meal and though the food was good - the service is enough to make me not want to go back. The server was just socially awkward, was not able to converse and seemed to struggle with every aspect of the role! We spent over 20 minutes trying to flag her - then anyone down- just to order a soda as the mocktail was not good! We wanted second drinks but as there was no service to be found - we gave up. Dishes were dumped on the table by whoever brought them as we then sat with dirty / empty dishes throughout the meal except for the one or two we gave back and the one with food in it that was taken! Things got weird when we asked to bag up two dishes when the server seemed to really get confused and had to take time for her process and ignored the dessert order - then came to the table and asked if we wanted dessert!?!! She was very pleasant but the role of a server might not be best for her! Now the food however was a solid 5 - the chili crisp crab burrata was one of the best dishes I have had anywhere ! The garlic sticky noodles were also fantastic , loved the smashed cucumber, the impossible pot stickers were not as good as in the past as they were cold and chewy - almost as though they had been made days ahead and were stale! I really loved the vibe of the restaurant and what it represents. Fusion Asian in Texas!! I thought everything was great. Some items were a bit on the salty side, especially the burrata with chili crab and the Taiwanese popcorn chicken (or whatever it's called on the menu). The corn spring rolls were overly cheesy, and the chili dipping sauce didn't pair well. The garlicky noodles were pretty average, and while the potstickers were creative with Impossible meat, they seriously lacked flavor. The green beans were overly salty and soggy!! The biggest miss was the cashew chicken, which ended up being too chewy. That said, the drinks and ambiance were solid. I think a light drizzle would have been better. Cashew Chicken: same, sauce was too sickly Pork fried rice: tasted ok but neither of us could see our find any pork Popcorn chicken: flavor was ok but it tasted breaded rather than traditional popcorn chicken. While you can order separate entrees, I highly recommend family style so everyone can try a bit of everything. Especially here, where nearly everything so good. While the noodle texture was good, the greens were tough and stringy (hard to eat) and the sauce lackluster, even with a squeeze of the offered lime. It's also in a fantastic location with plenty of parking around. The menu is fun and has a lot of different fusion dishes I wanted to try (next time when I'm not alone haha). Besides the lunch special, the menu is really organized for parties of at least 2-3 people which is nice (I love family style!) I decided on the salt & pepper shrimp and some young marinated bamboo, which was a good amount of food for myself. The marinated bamboo was good, but drenched in chili oil....I guess I was hoping it would be a bit fresher! The shrimp was seasoned well and perfectly crispy. The kale salad was really good and easy to eat (the kale was massaged so it was easier to chew)! We had a group of 6 and were able to get a same day reservation for outside seating. I would definitely suggest reservations for popular dinner times - no matter what day of the week. We got in at the end of happy hour. They have great drink specials including half off glasses of wine and house cocktails. They have some unique cocktails, so it's a great way to test different ones out! They do change the drink menus time to time too, so there's always something new to try. Not everyone was interested in sharing dishes, but I was still able to try several different things. While some of the dishes sounded a little crazy, everything I tried was done really well. I came here with a friend recently and I really enjoyed it more than expected. The restaurant is built in a home style versus traditional building and inside/outside is very pink in decore. Despite that the place was quite lively (we came on a weekend) and everyone was friendly too. Our waitress was very kind and patient with us in understanding the food and options (my friend has a glutten allergy and she checked for us on many dishes to make sure she didnt get sick). Great service for sure. For the food, we ordered these cheddar hush puppies which were alright. It wasnt greasy at all and cooked well. What i really liked was my noodles. When I was in town for work, this was the restaurant locals recommended to me the most- so when I went to explore The Pearl, I had to stop by. And let me tell you, locals were right... this place is so good! Just a heads up though, it's really popular and gets busy. I went on a Tuesday around 8:15 p.m. by myself and still waited about 45 minutes to get seated. Didn't really mind though- I walked around the neighborhood until I got the text. Their menu is Asian-fusion and family style, and they also have cocktails and mocktails. I got the Thai Salted Limeade (so refreshing!) and for my main, I tried their recommendation- the Drunken Noodle Red Curry Mole with Wagyu flank steak, noodles, veggies, Thai basil, and just the right amount of spice. I thought I wouldn't finish it... but I totally did. It was amazing. As always when I dine solo, my only regret is not going with more people so I could've tried more dishes. I've had this place saved for over a year- all because of a photo of the burrata and crab chili jam, obviously. So when I finally made it to San Antonio, I made sure to get an early dinner reservation here. The restaurant itself was adorable. We ordered the burrata and crab chili jam (10/10), salt-n-pepper shrimp (7/10), curry guisada Dan Dan (8/10), and the strawberry lychee ice cream sandwich (10/10). The burrata wow'd us- both in flavor and portion. It came with eight scallion pancakes dusted with a sweet chili powder on top. Half of us were just eating the pancakes on their own, while the rest of us went to town on that creamy burrata paired with the unique chili jam. I'm not totally sure where the "crab" came in, but there was a slight seafood flavor (in a good way!). The salt and pepper shrimp was good, just not particularly special. The chilies, though, did have a nice kick to them. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked the curry guisada Dan Dan. It was basically ramen noodles, but extra creamy and rich. We added a fried egg on top, which definitely contributed to that richness. It was perfect for sharing since it's a heavier dish, and since the portion was generous. The meat was also super tender. Dessert was such a fun way to end the meal. The strawberry lychee ice cream sandwich had great flavor pairings, perfect texture, and just a really cool dessert. The menu was concise and we ordered mostly the waitress' recommendations. Highlights included the popcorn chicken and salt n pepper shrimp. I dropped my napkin on the floor, and within seconds she noticed and brought me a fresh one before I even had a chance to ask. This amazing restaurant has been open for almost 5 years now, and I can assure you that the quality and consistency in their menu has been outstanding throughout the years. I've been to the restaurant multiple times and I've always had an outstanding experience. Just recently visited during lunch and was surprised to see they had a special lunch menu with much smaller portions. Some of my go-to dishes are their super garlicky noodles, which are perfect to share with a group. Another favorite, is their cashew chicken which they offer as a lunch special or dinner. From their smaller dishes, I also really like their impossible potstickers and wok charred green beans. Overall, there hasn't been a single thing I didn't like from their menu. This location has been a number of different restaurants over the years. The house is super cute. My out-of-town friends kept telling me that this latest incarnation was worth a try. The wait for an inside table was about 40 minutes - not bad since there are nice drink options nearby. Service was adequate. Nothing to rave about. We shared the roasted Brussels sprouts and the cashew chicken. Everything tasted great but it was heavily over-sauced. A little overpriced, but you're paying for the location. It was my first time here and I was excited to try the food. We were only able to sit outside and even though there are ceiling fans it doesn't really do anything to cool you down.
