    Woke But Loves Naps

Came here post gradation as it was the restaurant my daughter selected - it's been a while since we have been here and we were excited to go back Food is amazing- only reason I have it as a 3 star is the service is underwhelming and a solid 1!! We ordered 2 cocktails, a lemonade and a mocktail - that took 15 minutes longer than everyone else so the toast to the grad who ordered it was delayed as appetizers came out before her drink Timing was also way off - we were asked what appetizers we wanted shortly after being seated and when we did order and told them we would start with the smaller bites and order the mains for later - everything came out at the same time except for one dish that was way later than everything else So before food let's talk service - it was a special graduation meal and though the food was good - the service is enough to make me not want to go back. The server was just socially awkward, was not able to converse and seemed to struggle with every aspect of the role! We spent over 20 minutes trying to flag her - then anyone down- just to order a soda as the mocktail was not good! We wanted second drinks but as there was no service to be found - we gave up. Dishes were dumped on the table by whoever brought them as we then sat with dirty / empty dishes throughout the meal except for the one or two we gave back and the one with food in it that was taken! Things got weird when we asked to bag up two dishes when the server seemed to really get confused and had to take time for her process and ignored the dessert order - then came to the table and asked if we wanted dessert!?!! She was very pleasant but the role of a server might not be best for her! Now the food however was a solid 5 - the chili crisp crab burrata was one of the best dishes I have had anywhere ! The garlic sticky noodles were also fantastic , loved the smashed cucumber, the impossible pot stickers were not as good as in the past as they were cold and chewy - almost as though they had been made days ahead and were stale! The mapo tofu was great and we have plenty left over and my husband and daughter enjoyed the cashew chicken! We love the quaint setting, great playlist and fantastic food but service throughout from the server to the folks expediting dishes was substandard ! For this reason would hesitate returning in a hurry!

I really loved the vibe of the restaurant and what it represents. Fusion Asian in Texas!! I thought everything was great. Some items were a bit on the salty side, especially the burrata with chili crab and the Taiwanese popcorn chicken (or whatever it's called on the menu). I think it's a great place to take your non Asian friends and let them have a bunch of different cuisines they've never tried.

There's so much variety and great flavors on the menu. We tried three of the small plates and two large and had tons of leftovers to take home. They have rotating specials I recommend you try while they're offered. The service was good and they really knew the whole menu to help us make our choices. We went for dinner and got lucky with street parking right outside. Otherwise there's the Pearl paid parking lots.

Take me back STAT! I like to start with parking. That lot fills up quickly. Our dinner was early so we were there with enough time to get a good spot, but when we were leaving people were waiting to take our spot lol so be prepared. We made it on time for happy hour. My margarita was delicious. On to the food. OMG everything was so good!!!! Some better than others but I love to try things out. Our waitress was helpful and provided suggestions. The rice - YES The salt and pepper shrimp - HECK YES The curry!!! Pass on the cheese rolls and I loved the meat on the noodles but the noodles were too thick for me. But everything else was amazing and I can't wait to go back! The place is cute. I like the patio option for when you want to be outside.

I was really excited to try Best Quality Daughter, but unfortunately left feeling disappointed. We ordered a few dishes to try the asian fusion and none really stood out. The corn spring rolls were overly cheesy, and the chili dipping sauce didn't pair well. The garlicky noodles were pretty average, and while the potstickers were creative with Impossible meat, they seriously lacked flavor. The green beans were overly salty and soggy!! The biggest miss was the cashew chicken, which ended up being too chewy. That said, the drinks and ambiance were solid. It's a nice-looking space and could be a good date spot to grab drinks or small bites. However, it's not somewhere I'd choose to sit down with family for a full meal you're hoping to really enjoy.

I recently visited San Antonio and found this gem. Super cute house converted to restaurant. We ordered the cashew chicken, creamy coconut tom yum noodles with shrimp and brussel sprout dish. All three dishes were delicious. It was so good, I went back for lunch on my final day just to experience the noodles one more time. The service, ambiance and food were all 10/10 would recommend. Reservations highly encouraged.

Maybe I'm a little spoilt coming from SGV and expecting good Asian food in San Antonio. Went hear after eating Phil Rosenthal had once ate here, article said it was "amazing" but maybe it wasn't his words. Here's what we ordered and what we overall thought: Brussel Sprouts: first couple of bites were ok but the sauce got overwhelming and sickly very quickly. I think a light drizzle would have been better. Cashew Chicken: same, sauce was too sickly Pork fried rice: tasted ok but neither of us could see our find any pork Popcorn chicken: flavor was ok but it tasted breaded rather than traditional popcorn chicken. Ample parking, free even (until 3pm) which is rare to find in SA. Maybe this is considered the "high bar" for Asian food in SA but it was very mid-low in comparison to what SGV offers.

Charming venue and excellent service, even with our high expectations. Great cocktails - very original! The bad boy alcoholic boba teas are particularly yummy. While you can order separate entrees, I highly recommend family style so everyone can try a bit of everything. Especially here, where nearly everything so good. The brussel sprouts were killer - crunchy peanuty spicy- this is a must order appetizer. The pork fried rice is another excellent dish. It was almost like the filling from a pork dumpling was crumbled into the rice, then topped with a crisy-edged fried egg. Cashew chicken was one of the best things we tasted. Light crunch on the tender juicy chicken chunks and a beautiful balanced sauce with more texture added from the nuts. Although it was supposed to be spicy, no self respecting Texan would find it hot. Yummy, but not spicy. Not yo Mama's old school cashew chicken. We fought over who got the remaining sauce and nut bits at the bottom of the bowl. Drunken Noodle was the only disappointment. While the noodle texture was good, the greens were tough and stringy (hard to eat) and the sauce lackluster, even with a squeeze of the offered lime. It's not bad by any means, we just didn't find it to match the flavor bombs of the other dishes. Overall: highly recommended. Reservations recommended, even for lunch.

The host quoted another couple in front of us 3 hours, noting they're a "reservation-first" restaurant. After overhearing this we simply checked OpenTable and grabbed a spot for 10 minutes ahead of the current time... #hottip The "Are You There God? It's Me Margarita" was extremely good with an elegant whisper of lychee. The "I Can't Believe It's Not Mango Sticky Rice" boba cocktail was also good with a sweet taste and pearls that explode rather than being chewy. Boba also has a sealed lid, so you can take to go! Our server recommend that parties of two get two "smallish" and one family style dish, which ended up being more food than expected :) All food items reviewed below are GLUTEN FREE! The Mochi Cheddar Hush Puppies were fantastic. They looked small in pics, but five were more than enough to split. The Roasted Brussels Sprouts were decent and peanut-y - they started off crisp but became quite oily and wet at the bottom. The Curry Shrimp Fried Rice was good and had a generous amount of shrimp (tails removed). Not too saucy, and the rice had a denser texture. The interior is well designed - each room has a carefully curated, unique look and vibe. And the service was fairly fast!

Lunch with my son today. Sat on the patio for the first time. It is a pleasnat day so why not! We started with hush puppies and pot stickers. I love the dipping sauces .. unique flavor combos and a little spice. Then we has the curry fried rice and cashew chicken. Yum!!! All food eaten .. no take homes for us. The service was fast and friendly. If you a hot tea person like me, the jasmine tea was quite nice.

I thought there would be Thai food options That's on me. The restaurant is super cute! We were told each room had a them and we could explore during our visit. I didn't get a chance to do a thorough walkthrough BUT from what I saw it's a swanky spot Parking was easy through the city app (expensive for an hour but meant for longer trips). Now about the food! The main menu standout was my lemonade. Sorry, I wasn't a fan of the Asian fushion. My tastebuds were confused and so was I. There are limited options for MY tastebuds. We had the Brussels sprouts, bamboo (nope), and noodles. The beef in the noodles to me tasted weird. I can't put my finger on it, but not my cup of tea. I loved the noodles though. The Brussels sprouts were sweet and savory and I ate with a side of rice. Hubby ordered boba to go. He thought it was okay after consuming the next day (I wouldn't advise because the boba does not taste good). I am giving this place a 4 because while I thought the food was okay, my husband had a better experience. This is an average of our experience

Food was 4.5/5, service was 5/5, and ambiance is 5/5! I really love the concept of this place and how home-y it feels (love that it's in an old house!). It's also in a fantastic location with plenty of parking around. The menu is fun and has a lot of different fusion dishes I wanted to try (next time when I'm not alone haha). Besides the lunch special, the menu is really organized for parties of at least 2-3 people which is nice (I love family style!) I decided on the salt & pepper shrimp and some young marinated bamboo, which was a good amount of food for myself. The marinated bamboo was good, but drenched in chili oil....I guess I was hoping it would be a bit fresher! The shrimp was seasoned well and perfectly crispy. The kale salad was really good and easy to eat (the kale was massaged so it was easier to chew)! The Thai chimichurri sauce was good, but I felt like it could've been more Thai (fishy, maybe a little sweet). My only complaint was that my meal was a bit oversalted (every component was a little oversalted, so overall it was definitely too much). However I still enjoyed everything, and topped it all off with an ice cream sandwich which was yummy! The hojicha ice cream had great flavor, I liked the addition of the honeycomb brittle, and the fried mantou bun is genius! Overall, an impressive Asian-fusion spot close to downtown San Antonio and a great place to come with a group!!

The vibe here is cute inside and out. We were seated quickly and our server was attentive, kind, and quick to notice when something wasn't quite right. The food? Flavor-packed and full of surprises. Every plate impressed us with bold, thoughtful flavors. We especially loved their tom yum noodles salted drink! Two small hiccups: A few of the bowls came out visibly dusty, which was a little ehh. We asked for them to be removed, and the staff handled it gracefully. The Curry Asada Dan Dan didn't quite hit the mark for us. It was drenched in what tasted like spicy mayo, and the smoky flavor overwhelmed the dish. Our server noticed we hadn't touched it and made sure we were taken care of, major points for that. We didn't get a chance to try any dessert, but the menu had us curious. Definitely planning to come back next time we're in town.

The service was great we were seated immediately, checked on several times, and the food came out quickly. Everyone was also friendly and welcoming. We tried the egg rolls, crab rangoon dip, cornbread, Spam fried rice, and honey walnut shrimp. Every dish was a 10/10 with great flavor and something unique to offer. The crab rangoon dip and cornbread stood out the most among the appetizers. The dip was an absolute hit and is something I'd definitely recommend. The cornbread had a subtle sweetness that paired well with its flavor. I also liked how it had a waffle shape to it, very different. I was a bit skeptical about the honey walnut shrimp at first because it looked pretty simple, but it ended up being delicious. The Spam fried rice was also nice, the pineapple paired great in it. Everything felt shareable its great spot to order several dishes for the table. If you check out this place, I'd recommend going with a group. The vibe was laid back, and the decor really tied everything together, making it feel like a fun hangout spot with a lot of personality.
