This evening after work I wanted some Chinese food. I had seen this business off Wetmore Road a couple of times and decided to give it a try. I was greeted immediately after I entered. They offered for me to choose my seat. Chose a table in the center. Lots of time to check out the menu. Everything is prepared and has no msg. I chose General Tso chicken. It arrived to the table with a spring roll, sticky rice and broccoli, all freshly prepared. Wonderful presentation on the plate, nice and hot, plus very tasty. Was in the move for Chinese food. I have seen this place several times while driving down Wetmore Rd. I looked it up on yelp, and it had very good ratings. I also believe in promoting small businesses. So I said heck, let's give it a try. It's a really quaint place and Amelia the owner greeted us as though we'd known each other for years. Ordered the beef and shrimp Lo Mien. . Couldn't eat it all and took the rest home. Let me say the reviews were spot on. Great food. This place is a hidden gem not far from Wurzbach Parkway. I first heard about it on the FB San Antonio Restaurants page, and I am happy to have stopped here. The egg drop soup was flavorful with no artificial colors. Some green onions and black pepper wakes it up! My wife had the sweet 'n' sour chicken, which was served hot, crispy, and fresh. My daughter had the vegetable lo mein with broccoli, and it was delicious. I had the beef lo mein, which was flavorful, hot, and really good. The egg roll was hot, fresh, and seasoned correctly (not too much in terms of the 5-spice). This location is in a strip center with limited parking, probably due to a large tenant next door, but please do NOT let this discourage you from visiting this restaurant. This mom-and-pop restaurant (one of the best ones) really deserves more attention and foot traffic, even though the food delivery apps keep things steady. I got sesame chicken and the pieces of chicken are so big and juicy and you can definitely tell it's good quality meat. They also had large chunks of pineapple, which is delicious also. Prices are excellent and quality was better than expected. We ate in the casual, but very clean dining area. The restaurant is in a small shopping center, but signage on front of restaurant is good. I had kung pao shrimp spicy #1 (there are 3 levels) and the shrimp were huge. My friend is a vegan and she had veggie spring rolls and tofu kung pao. What a great out-of-the-way Chinese restaurant to eat at. It's owners are Mexican that worked in Chinese restaurant so they give the Chinese food a bit of Mexican touch. Their portions are satisfying and their attention to detail is good. The restaurant has flatscreen's inside and is comfortable both at the booth and the tables. When we visited, there weren't many people in the restaurant as a matter fact we were the only ones and then our family came in later. Found this place online while shopping at the Thousand Oaks HEB. I get the chicken broccoli in white wine sauce. Spicy level none. My husband usually gets the lo mein spicy level 3. I went for the 1st time the other day. As much as I wanted to order a couple of items, I couldn't realistically being solo on my "me day." I usually judge an Asian restaurant by its egg drop soup. It didn't disappoint. The soup was actually quite flavorful and didn't need soy sauce like I usually do. I was in the mood for sesame chicken, which is why I originally went searching for Asian. The flavor of the sauce was good and not overbearing. Not pictured was the edamame, got it nice and steamy, and the perfect amount of salt. Would've loved a spicy option! It smelled absolutely amazing; so much so; that I had to send my hubby back to pickup egg rolls for dinner. The eggrolls had a perfect ratio of meat to veggies, which is my fav!
