Great service - very fast (less than 20 minutes) to help me when I locked myself out.

Please beware of this outfit's dishonest ways. The man ( his picture is on their Yelp ad) gave us a high estimate of $250 for labor (since we supplied the two locks) and simply need changing as existing were old. He said $65 was for service call. Now when you hire him, is the service call fee not waived? However, since he was there, we agreed(after several confirmations by him) that $250 was the maximum he would charge and NO more. Note: same work in Pasadena another locksmith charged $120. Towards the end, he made the excuse the door jam opening of the old lock ( looked sane as same type of standard lock) was small and he needed to enlarge it and proceeded to use a drill with a rough ball at end to shave inside for less than a minute. When he was done, he said we owed $285 ($35 more for enlarging the opening! ). Note this is after his confirmation at our insistence several times at the beginning that his price would not exceed $250. I will use this dishonest outfit again and please be careful unless you have money to burn. You call a locksmith and you want him to be honest and stick with the price he gives you. This man gave a high estimate and confirmed that was the total amount and there were no additional charges for this simple job that most people could do with a screwdriver. Then without getting our authorization, he adds another $35. Such dishonesty! Beware. read more

You know when you read reviews and they're all glowing and they say he arrived within 15 minutes? Well, believe them! I had more than a lock and key situation. My antique handle had broken - meaning, I needed to find a whole new antique door handle and lock system, or try to somehow fix it (thank goodness I didn't throw away the broken piece!). Steve was at my house in 15 minutes. I told him I didn't know if I needed a locksmith or a handy man. I was in luck - Steve is both! He set out to see if he could find a replacement handle, kept me in the loop while he drove to businesses he knew of that could possibly have something. No luck. But, Steve is a problem solver! He contacted a business he'd worked with before about welding the pieces back together. They said they could do it. Steve drove past DTLA, got the piece welded, was back at my house by the time I had done school pick up. Lock is fixed. Door handle in tact. Service was above and beyond! Thank you, Steve. Waited 1 hour and 15 minutes and was told 20-30 min. The place is 1.7 miles from my house. The guy was really nice and got the door open quickly. Only my bottom lock was locked. Reason for 2 stars is that his car broke down in my drive way alley on his was out. He ran out of gas. Who goes on a service call with no gas. Then his supervisor wouldn't answer his call. My drive way was blocked for about 30 min and none of the 10 other tenants could come or go. It was a nightmare. This falls on the supervisor..don't send out your staff in trucks with no gas, and when there is a problem in the field..handle it. read more
