DO NOT GO HERE! THEY RUINED OUR CAR! They purposefully went and destroyed our van along with messing with items in the car without permission (eg: our back hatch). Now the car is unable to work and will be $11,000 for a new engine or $500 to sell. This is unacceptable and atrocious work! Another issue that happened with them was my other car was brought in to fix my heat and they didn't fix the fuel pump, which led to all my gas leaking out. Under no circumstances should you go here. Absolutely unhear of awful. My good friend had her tires rotated and 300 miles later the wheel fell off! They told her it was because she didn't have her wheels retorqued. How stupid. I helped her write a letter for a refund (just $138 for a new used wheel) and they didn't even reply. In the letter we stated that if retightening wheel was really necessary to prevent wheels from falling off, there would be thousands of wheels all along the Glenn Highway! $138??? Really??? Customer Service: They come off rude, unfriendly and unpleasant. Cost: Diagnostic fee: $170.00 dollars (Free at Auto Zone!) You would think for the hour you pay for which is what I was told why it cost this much that it would be more than a code reading. (WRONG) Most auto shops will wave this fee if you decided to get the repair with them you don't pay this fee but not here. Cost: Coolant Flush: $430.00 dollars Every place in town will do this service for half the price trust me I asked. Here even the price of coolant itself is higher and I don't understand why. Service: My car was "repaired" after driving my car 22 miles to work the issue came back. Like ERA posted... the code was read and they did in fact change out the thermostat reader BUT test driving the car further than around the corner or doing a visual inspection would have shown that my radiator was blown. They did tell me this was not covered in the diagnostic fee. I mean you would think they would do a once over, how did they miss this doing a COOLANT FLUSH?!? This service is unprofessional but the rates say otherwise. Advice: Go to Frontier Auto or the old QWIK lube! Frontier auto is cheaper and the old mechanic is super honest and will pro rate his hourly fee. I told them I'm a Uber driver so I would need my car in a reasonable time . So a few days later they call me and says the mechanic knows knows what's wrong with it I have no reason questioned him because I thought that he had driven my car like I asked him to so when I got my car back and $1300 later the car ran the same way nothing has changed I called them up and told him that and they wanted me to bring it back so they could go through the engine more. but what they didn't offer was a refund read more

I understand automotive repairs can be costly. Craftsmanship is completely different. I didn't mind the bill for a new clutch. To remove and replace the clutch in a 2008 Hyundai the total cost was $1897.66 this was for parts and labor. I did not appreciate the fact that after the repairs I had to have an alignment performed on the vehicle and there was damage caused by the clutch replacement. Update: But Franco never sent me a letter. He sent me an email. I requested a letter, but that request was ignored, naturally. A couple of issues remain: first, my car was inspected so thoroughly the first time that every single problem it had was identified, not just those that concerned me. The technicians found things left and right. NOTHING mentioned about the power steering rack, because it was not damaged at the time. If it got damaged by Eagle River Automotive later, that's another story. Another issue: I was told by a manager, Toddi, these exact words: "If we had thought there was any fire hazard, we certainly would have told you". In other words, this is something you're saying after the fact, in retrospect, to justify not having the courtesy to refund this money. My car burned down a few days after I pocked it up from your shop. I'm not asking you to admit any fault, just for a refund. All veterans and active military the area take notice, and please do not do business with this establishment. I will appreciate your solidarity on this. Takes summer tires off in Winter, doesn't ever bother to say the tires do not have enough tread for the next season.

Probably won't go back here again. Work was done quickly but they insisted as part of a standard tire rotation that a $30.00 TPMS "relearning" procedure was necessary. The person at the front desk kept speaking vaguely of "error codes" but was unable to provide any specific details. I've had the car for twelve years and this has never been necessary. I also checked the Acura service manuals and Hondas/Acura don't require any "relearning". ***UPDATE*** The shop just called and they've also come to the same conclusion/understanding regarding the TPMS. The lady drove my car to me after they fixed the brakes. She drove the car with the e-brake on 5 miles to my house. The smell coming from my car was horrible. Mistakenly I took my car to them a second time because the engine light was on. They did a motor vac but didn't complete the diagnositic check (admitted by them). The motor vac was completly not necessary and did not solve the problem. After taking my car to another shop, the problem was solved much cheaper. read more

I will never recommend anyone this place to ever again. If you have a European brand of car please save yourself the money and time. I have a 2007 Audi Q7 that needed the cam shaft oil control valve replaced and they willing accepted the job and agreed to do a basic tune up with new ignition coils and plugs. I dropped the car off on April 10th and here we are two weeks later and I'm having to pay $1,400 for labor and maintenance and they didn't even fix the issue! They supposedly tried "researching" the code that was giving them problems for days... aren't you ASE certified master technicians? They told me that the tech that was working on it hasn't been coming in because his back was hurt and that's why it's taking so long.They are now referring me to Audi after they kept my vehicle way to long and didn't even fix the dang car. This was by far the worst service. turned my car in for transmission not shifting correctly spent 500. Drove it off the lot problem was not fixed. Took it back two days later waited a week to hear anything they told me it was this other problem spent 600 after two weeks on a leak and now there saying by transmission needs to be replaced. They knew this could have been the problem but wanted me to spend an extra money fixing things that wouldn't resolve the problem. Very Disappointed. I was having an overheating issue with my car and needed it fixed so I looked around and found a local shop by the name of Eagle River Automotive. Here is my experience with their team. When I brought in my car a (2015 Hyundai Elantra Gt) they said they would look at it for the military rate of $108 which I greatly appreciated and they did. after a hour of diagnostics they determined the fan was not turning on when it needed to causing it to overheat and said they would need additional time of diagnostics to perform tests on the fan and electrical system to find the problem. I gave them the go ahead and a couple days pass with no info or communication from their team. After me calling they said that they could not fix it because it was a "computer problem" and they did not have the proper tools to fix it and also that I could come pick up the car and it was done. This is where things get weird. I arrived there and walked and the office and was instantly on edge because of all the dogs barking and being unfriendly. After paying for the services I went out to my car to drive it home and it was entirely dead. note*** this is a brand new battery purchased 2 months prior. I told them my car was dead and so the front desk grabbed the mechanic. We then received new information that they had to "fully drain the battery" in order to check the electrical system. I don't know why they were unable to unplug it but either way I should not have been told to pick up my car if the car wouldn't start. Once they plugged in the jump box and had me turn on the car there was a check engine light on the dash that had not been there prior. The mechanic assured me that it was just a low voltage code from the battery being drained which would make sense. It wasn't. It was a new code "Engine temp high circuit" and the mechanic had no idea what it was or how it had got there. He told me that we should take it to the dealer as soon as possible and that was the end of our experience with the team. Another thing I would like to add is that through diagnostics at eagle river automotive they did not put any protective liners on the inside of my car so the interior was very dusty/greasy and that was not how it arrived. So overall I paid $108 dollars for them to drain my battery, give me a new check engine light, dirty up my car and their only advice was to have taken it to a dealer. read more

My family and I have been coming to Eagle River automotive since we moved up here in 07. On a good day I'd easily make this a 5/5. It's one of the best automotive shops we have around and they normally do amazing work on all of our vehicles. The one man that runs the counter sometimes is so friendly and understanding. We have no problems with him, we adore him but recently we have had a lot of trouble with the lady at the front desk. It's not just that she has a bad attitude, she also won't listen and acts like customers are just beneath her. my father knows what's wrong with the heater in his truck and tried to explain that he's tried the basic way of fixing it and has tried restarting it over and over. Sometimes it works but every time it stops eventually. He tried to explain that to the lady and requested that they get inside the module and look at the part that moves inside of the truck. She decided to argue back and say "Oh we probably just need to restart it blah blah blah" which my dad made clear, HE'S TRIED. He made the point in saying that if that's all she was going to do, to just don't he would take it somewhere else. He still trusted that the work would get done. Surprise surprise three days later that's all that was done. My dad being the nice guy he is even when he's fuming, paid for the work and left. He's not the type to start a scene.
