I recently dined at Fat Boys in Niceville and was very disappointed with the service we received…read morefrom our server, Sara. Throughout our visit, Sara made several inappropriate jokes and comments that made my party extremely uncomfortable. Rather than providing professional customer service, she engaged in conversations that were not suitable for a restaurant setting. At one point, while standing near our table, she openly gossiped with another server about a young hostess, speaking negatively about the employee within earshot of customers. This was highly unprofessional and reflected poorly on the restaurant. After this conversation, Sara disappeared for an extended period of time. We waited quite a while for drink refills and had difficulty getting her attention. When we finally requested a refill, she responded by making yet another inappropriate joke instead of focusing on customer service. The combination of the inappropriate comments, workplace gossip, and inattentive service created an uncomfortable dining experience. I believe customers should be able to enjoy their meal without being subjected to unprofessional behavior from restaurant staff. I hope management will address these concerns and ensure a higher standard of professionalism moving forward.

We both loved our dishes and the banging shrimp appetizer and Caesar salads were a great addition. Wish we had room for the chocolate bread pudding, but didn't. Service was excellent as well. Would definitely recommend, currently our favorite restaurant in Niceville.

I'll be honest--when we pulled up to Basil & Baxter's Kitchen for a group dinner, I had no idea…read morewhat to expect. From the outside, the place looks small and quite unassuming. But as the saying goes: never judge a book by its cover. We were absolutely blown away by the experience. Despite the modest exterior, the food is nothing short of world-class. I ordered the ribeye, and it was cooked to absolute perfection--tender, flavorful, and easily one of the best steaks I've had in a long time. Since we were a large group, we ended up ordering a significant portion of the menu. Between us, we tried the fish, shrimp, and various pasta plates. It felt like we sampled almost everything they offer, and every single dish was an absolute hit. It's rare to find a place where the entire table is equally impressed with their meal, but Basil & Baxter's pulled it off effortlessly. Beyond the incredible kitchen, the service was outstanding. The staff was attentive, welcoming, and handled our group with the kind of professionalism that makes a night out feel special. If you're in Niceville, do not pass this place up. It might look humble from the street, but the flavors and hospitality inside are massive. We will definitely be back!

(I used to work in the restaurant industry so my standards for 5 stars are significantly higher and…read moreI don't give out 5 stars very often). The staff were super friendly and accommodating. Full bar. Plenty of domestic & imported beers on tap or bottled/canned along with mixed drinks and hard seltzers. They even have a couple alcohol-free options and energy drinks. I got 20 boneless wings (10 Lemon Pepper Dry Rub and 10 Honey BBQ). The Honey BBQ was sweet and savory with just the right amount of sauce on the wings. The Lemon Pepper was more on the lemon-y side but not overpowering and had a hint of that pepper kick as an aftertaste. The chicken is juicy with just the right amount of crunch from the breading. The wings are great just as they are but they're better with some ranch dipping sauce (I'm a ranch kinda guy lol). The sweet potato fries have that nice balance between a crunchy outside with a soft inside, sprinkled with salt. The breading on their jumbo onion rings actually sticks to the onion itself and doesn't fall off or disintegrate the minute you bite into it. The ranch sauce is savory, it complements the other textures and flavors well. The overall vibe I get from this place is uplifting but relaxed. They have multiple TVs that're usually playing sports. The floor plan is open and organized. Plenty of room to walk around without feeling like you have to squeeze yourself between chairs. Clean, neat, and orderly. The prices aren't that bad for what you get. It's a little more expensive than your typical restaurant but I also ordered 20 boneless wings, two premium sides, and had a tall Blue Moon but the price is well worth what you're getting. The food tastes AUTHENTIC, like everything they have is made in house. None of it tastes like it comes premade in a bag or a can and they just heat it up before serving. It's what you'd expect in a restaurant like this. If you're in the Destin/Niceville/Crestview area you NEED to come here and get their boneless wings.
