Ordered an Alexander Keiths and it came out out flat so I told the server and she brought me out the same flat drink just with frozen mug. So in order to avoid that from happening again I switched to a Stella and of course it came out even worse...Completely flat and disgusting. I had 3 beers and all were absolutely nasty. Thanks to this Earls, I was able to seat a large party on short notice. After having our reservations cancelled at the last minute by another restaurant, we were left scrambling for an alternative and Earls stepped up. We sat a large party on Saturday evening, had two servers and were all able to sit together. My food, the Cajun double chicken breast with warm potato salad was delightful. Taste and temperature were spot on and for $22.00 this dish is well worth it. Also, the calamari we ordered to start was delicious, topped with a Mediterranean inspired mix of olives and sauce, it was crunchy and flavorful. I will say that servers needed to be more attentive but beyond that, there was little to complain about. The rest of the party enjoyed their food from what I could tell and the drinks were mixed properly. I'll be going back for sure! read more

I was disappointed with the service. I came on a Tuesday night around 10:30 and i ordered my food at 10:45. I didn't get my food until 11:20 and it was dead inside the restaurant. My server barely came by and we literally waited for like 3 things that were on the happy hour. Pretty disappointed with my lettuce wraps as well. Not well done and not a nice presentation. Never going to Earl's again. They told us it was a 15 minute wait then few minutes later they take us to a table that was supposedly booked for 630pm we got there 430, then once we got seated said the table isn't booked. There were 6-7 empty tables. Top it off the food was terrible I didn't finish mine . . . Neither of us did. The food was greesy and the fries were over cooked and salty. We should've just left once we seen these empty seats at a spot that was supposedly a 15 minute wait. read more

First of all, the servers were great. No complaints there. The kitchen and manager, however, left a lot to be desired. We went for Mother's Day, having made a reservation well in advance. It took forever to get our food and when it did arrive it was cold. Some of us were given unasked-for-substitutions, which we were more or less forced to accept (because they ran out of hash-browns of all things). To the restaurant's credit, we did get some of our meals taken off the bill, but hey, don't screw up in the first place. Tonight was one the best experiences I had at the Earls restaurant. The food was amazing, there new seasonal menu is to die for. You must try the salmon dill Caper dish. The seasonal dessert is banana cream pie and it was so yummy. I have just started writing reviews as we dine out often. After our last visit to Earls which is a regular spot for us I felt that I wanted to share. we brought out of town friends and they were impressed also. My wife and i go out for dinner almost every Friday night, we don't have kids so we like to treat ourselves. We like to try new places but we keep coming back to Earls because of the quality and the friendly service. I really just wanted to say thank you for always making our visits terrific. Our last visit we were served by Brooke who was fantastic and attentive she answered our guests questions about the menu very knowledgeably. We are most often greeted by Zoey at the front with her big hello and sincere smile she seems to remember us which is really so very nice! The Hunan is my favourite with 4 peppers. My wife always has a garlic chicken caesar salad and dynamite rolls which are the best we've had anywhere. keep up the great work and see you soon! read more

Two stars, because I don't really like Earls. There is nothing particular I dislike but there is nothing particular I like. There is no wow factor. It's the same as every other Earls. The dessert selection is poor and service is average. The tables at Earls are bolted to the floor which makes this a terrible place to go if you have a larger group of people because you have to sit at separate tables.... as a social butterfly, I'm not okay with this. If you are looking for simple food because you have a picky eater in the family then perhaps Earls is for you, however you will find me at restaurants that don't pop up on every corner. read more

New decor.....modern, hip and cold. Also, noisy as there are no booths to buffer the sound and it was 4pm! Food was blah. Tomato soup was good but the plain salmon was exactly that...very plain. No seasoning or flavour whatsoever ,and it was cold. The service was not good, don't appreciate the entree arriving before the soup bowls have been cleared or waiting ages for drinks to arrive. Our server seemed new and was having difficulty teetering on her sky high heels. Funny how all the young women servers look like tarts in their skintight tops and barely covering their bum skirts ( a requirement, not their choice ) while the men all get to be comfortable in check shirts and jeans. SLOWWWWWWWW. We generally like Earl's but the service at this location was so painfully slow it ruined the meal. An hour and 45 minutes to have dinner. We watched as friends were seated near us finally got up and left after waiting and never receiving service at all. Our appetizer arrived after our meal, a meal we stared at for 5 minutes waiting on utensils. Won't be returning to this location which is unfortunate as we live less than 2 km away. I just had lunch at this location today on the patio. The sun was shining and we had to wait about ten minutes to be seated. While we waited I enjoyed samples of the meatball sliders, and their bar sangeria (did I even come close to spelling that right???). The scenery met expectations as always. Now in my four star rating I am giving Earl's some benefit of the doubt, as today was not my best dining experience with this chain. The service was good, but our waitress did not make any effort to make any sort of connection with the table. I ordered the Jeera Chicken, which is my favorite Earls dish. Somehow it was a little off today. It had all the spice I expected, but the color was a little lighter than usual, and some of the flavor was missing. It was not terrible, or offputting, it just did not meet my expectations completely. Know what I mean? Anyway, go to Earls. Get the Jeera Chicken. Enjoy the scenery. This is Earls on Calgary trail south at 42 ave in Edmonton. What I disliked the most was the music. It sounded like rock with some top 40 rolled in. So I look at the patrons and see families, businessmen and couples. Hardly the party crowd. Note to management: play jazz or lounge or down tempo music that is not so harsh and adds atmosphere without being intrusive. Decor was nice however with oriental theme and leather chairs. Attendants were very pleasant. The food was good but not great and lacked presentation. Food seemed expensive for what you got. All in all not a bad place but not great. Might be too noisy for a quiet date, but good for after work dinner when on the road or ladies night out. But please play appropriate music for a supposedly upscale restaurant. read more

The whole restaurant was empty, but refused to sit us until about 10 minutes later (keep in mind nobody was in line except us) because they had a reservation in 3 hours. Well........what can I say, Earls hit a homerun with this location. The staff are simply amazing always happy, and very attentive. The food is ALWAYS delicious weather it's appies or dinner it always comes out right the first time. They also have THE BEST happy hour in the city by far with great drink and food specials, definitely a wonderful place to go for a little après work lol. This was my first experience at an Earl's and I was extremely impressed. From the service to the food to the decor - this was a total hit. I had a gentleman server (Taylor) who was very attentive to my needs. He also provided a fantastic lunch recommendation that I thoroughly enjoyed. I was also visited by a team leader - ensuring my food/ experience was going smoothly. The decor is cozy and warm - definitely a great place for a date. There is an open kitchen so you can see some of what's going on which I love! I even loved the dishes the food was served on. I had the Californian Prawn Pesto pizza and it was amazing. Came out hot and bubbly and the crust was perfectly crisp and chewy at the same time. I will definitely be returning and will make this a regular dining experience. read more

Myself and the Mrs stopped by this location by chance because we happened to be out together doing some errands. We are huge fans of Moxie's and we wanted try out what these guys had and compare which of the places were better. First impression , was walking in and then joking around with the hostess at the dorr, as they cleared off a table for us. Believe it or not, we talked about standard vehicles and Mustang's. When the table was cleared and we were escorted to the booth, the restaurant was alittle loud, but clean. From there ....... things didn't go over too well. Our waitress walked up to our table, place her hands on her hips and introduced herself. My impression IMMEDIATELY was that she was not happy about being at work and showed us, that she was not happy about serving us. Strike 1 .... We ordered an appitizer and food and asked for a couple of Caesar's to drink. When the waitress dropped them off at the table, the wife was quick to notice that we didn't get a peice of jerky with it. Found out that they serve 2 kinds of Caesar's there - one is orginal and the other is a "signature Caesar" ...... would have been nice to know that, and maybe brought to our attention. Strike 2 ..... Food arrives and I asked for a Meduim Rare Peppercorn Steak. the food on the plate was extremely well displayed, except the steak was well done and the asparagus looked like it had sit in the sun for several days. I was hungry, so I grabbed the waitress and showed her and explained I was still going to eat the steak. When we were done and ready to leave, we learned that management had taken care of 2 of the 4 Caesar's we ordered along with our dessert. The food was great, the layout and ambience of the place were nice and comfortable. But the service was not great. Vanessa was our server and she was kind of rude and unpleasant, and also only visited our table to drop off food and grab the bill. I didn't get any refills on my soda. When my friend asked for a food recommendation, she was like "honestly I don't eat anything from here. I've heard good and bad reviews about both of those options" ...which is just not what you wanna hear from a server! I ordered the chicken Cajun sandwich with warm potato salad and it did not disappoint! So good! That warm potato salad is possibly my favourite thing on the menu. read more

We were seated outside at a dusty table facing the sun. There were table umbrellas available, but not in use, so squinting was necessary. We had to clean our own table with serviettes that my wife had in her purse. The people at the table beside us also had to clean theirs. The waitress explained, matter-of-factly, that the Whitemud freeway is very dusty, but did not feel obligated to have someone clean the table when we were seated. That said, the Be-Bim-Bap was delicious. The servers stirred the soft egg into the Be-Bim-Bam, and presented the bowls with a side dish of spicy sauce so that we could decide the level of spiciness. I used all of mine. However, there could have been more beef. Despite the dust and sun, I would choose this location over downtown to avoid the downtown traffic and parking rat race. Four stars would have been warranted here, had someone cleaned our table and seated us at a table with an umbrella. read more

Earls (any location) is one of my favourite go to places for food. They are one of the few restaurants that actually use fresh ingredients to prepare all of their food which is important to me. This particular Earls, known as Earls Crossroads on Twitter and Facebook, is very close to my place of business which makes it an easy choice for me. The staff are always amazing and so friendly. They have become my "family" away from home. I won't say that the food is always perfect because all people make mistakes but I have never had bad food there. When I am in Edmonton I probably eat here at least 5 times per week (proximity to work...) and I get great food every time. On the very odd occasion where something is not up to Earl's standards I have been offered compensation which I greatly appreciate. As to anyone trying to equate Earls with other "chain" restaurants...I think they need to try again. The food is prepared fresh and the quality of produce is second to none. I'd recommend eating here to anyone. read more

Sparse menu very ungracious server who never checked during the meal if food was okay (one diner's chicken was burned and reluctantly replaced after arguing that this was the blackened spice). Had to be flagged down for beverage refills, the bills were presented without being asked if we wanted desserts or coffee (we did). Paid by cash and was never asked if change was wanted nor was it returned. We were ignored from there on and the restaurant was not busy. First and last journey to Earls. Food was okay. read more

I dined at Earls Edmonton Calgary Trail for the first time. I have been to Earls before but never the Edmonton location. While the food was excellent, I was especially impressed with my overall dining experience, specifically the service. I would like to point out why I found it to be excellent. Upon being seated, my employees and I were immediately greeted by Grace. She was amazing and friendly and made sure we had everything we needed before we ordered. She gave us great suggestions on the menu which turned out to be excellent choices. One of my employees has a severe allergy to tree nuts. She asked about any allergies and then made suggestions for him to make sure his meal was exactly what he wanted. I manage all sales and marketing in Alberta for our company. We pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service and going the extra distsance. The service Grace provided was nothing short of excellent and for that reason I would dine at your restaurant anytime and certainly recommend it to anyone. Too often we only hear about unsatisfactory experiences but it is so very important to recognize our employees when they exceed customers expectations. Grace definitely exceeded our expectations and I want to personally thank you. Please tell Grace how much we appreciate her excellent service. The hostess team seemed poorly managed and clueless. This Earls does not accept reservations for the patio. Upon arrival, we were told it would a 10 to 15 minute wait for a patio seat. Then, after waiting 10 minutes, the lead hostess sat a couple who came later than us, before us. This extended our wait by 25 minutes. In addition, we watched as a table sat empty for 15 minutes and no one cleared it. Once someone finally cleared it, that is where we were seated. The other two hostesses seemed genuinely embarrassed that it took so long to seat us. Our server was very personable, but had the entire patio assigned to her. She actually volunteered that they weren't staffed appropriately for how busy it was and was apologetic before even taking our order. Needless to say, the service was slow. The server listed the house beers on tap and I selected the dark ale. Sure enough, after waiting 15 minutes, she came back to inform me the dark ale wasn't available yet. So, I had to order another drink and, you guessed it, wait some more. Our appetizer came out cold and had obviously been sitting for a long time before anyone ran it out. All in all a mediocre experience. Not a destination eatery. read more

Having been a Earls Crossroads customer for quite some time, I would like to commend Kristen, for her first shift as a lounge server. The time spent in the restaurant, has prepared Kristen for the diversity of lounge patrons, and their varied requests. Went on a Monday. The service was very lacking. There were not a lot of other diners but it always took forever to get our food or ask for something. When we got the food it left a lot to be desired for me. I had the tacos for an appetizer and the chicken linguine for the main course and both were underwhelming. For dessert i tried to get the sticky toffee pudding but they were out so then they took another 20 minutes to bring just ice cream. Yeah it was not the best night. Would not recommend. read more

Ate here last night with my boyfriend for date night was an amazing experience with a keg feel but nicer price. Drinks were ok i had a Bellini and the first one was awesome but then the second one not so much. SO had a scotch glenfidditch so he was a happy clam. We both had seafood cause we wanted to try something other than our regular options. I had the new Dijon salmon and it was amazing i will be ordering it again. I usually dont enjoy any type of fish let alone salmon but i quite enjoyed every bite. The side was sweet potatoes and beets for your roasted veggies they were cooked to perfection without an over bearing taste of salty seasonings. SO had the fish tacos which he wolfed down while grunting merrily must have been good too. Oh server was sammi but i also quite enjoy chelsea g if you get here ask to be in their section cause they are excellent at customer service and look amazing without a hair out of place.
