Service was fine but the shining star is their Happy Hour. Really delicious items. I especially enjoy the crispy tofu asian taco. Only had 1 but next time I will certainly get more. The angry wraps are good too but very spicy. My husband enjoy the crab cake and artichoke dip - yum! read more

Earl's St. Mary's Date: 09/04/2023 Truffle Tortellini with Shrimp If I was a Senior I would probably be in awe As for the 12 or so Tortellini that were in my bowl and the seven Shrimp it was unimpressive, The lack of Truffle taste and the Tortellini was not made in-house , Disappointing! The staff here are very friendly and engaging. We ordered avocado toast as an appetizer. I had this style of appetizer at Brown's Social House and was expecting about the same. Unfortunately the avocado toast at Earls is on the bland side in comparison. On top of that, they accidentally brought us two orders instead of one. I wasn't paying attention when paying the bill and ended up paying for the extra. Shame on me. First entre was a 6 ounce sirloin steak with mushrooms and it was just OK. The mashed potatoes were Fantastic. For a better steak, try Lot 88 or Joey. The next order was for a Hunan chicken noodle bowl. This was actually quite good and I would order it again. You can select a number of peppers that come with your order from 1 to 6. I had six, but I think 4 or 5 would do. They asked if wanted garlic toast , which was very good, but also extra. Third entre was a chicken Cesar salad with a side of bread and it was a typical Caesar salad. I think it is hard to mess up a chicken Caesar salad and their dressing was good. The house red wine was quite nice. For dessert we ordered a Toffee Cake and a Gold Digger. The Toffee Coffee Cake was a crunchy toffee bowl filled with ice cream with a chocolate cake much like a lava cake except with the chocolate sauce on the outside. Both were very good. The gold digger was a big bowl of ice cream with nuts caramel and whip cream. Sorry no pictures. The end price was about $160 for three people. We may go back, but with places like Joey (Kenaston), Lot 88, Fionn McCool's (Grant), and Tony Roma's, give better quality food for the money. We would probably choose these places first. I first heard about Earls when I was living in Winnipeg. I loved the food so much that I visited every Earls location in the city and had my favourite one by the University of Manitoba. That location has been gone for years. The closest one to the old location is in St. Vital, in the parking lot of St. Vital Shopping Centre. I visited this location for an early lunch when I was on vacation last July. It wasn't busy. However, there was a company event that was about to happen in two hours. I ordered new items that I had never sampled before. The first was the bibimbap with sirloin. There was more pepper in the dish than I had liked. It was yummy nonetheless. I especially liked the soft-boiled egg. I normally don't like the yolk oozing all over the place, but it works well with the dish. For dessert, I went with the sticky toffee chocolate pudding with vanilla bean gelato that is in a caramel cup, topped with fresh mint. Again, I am not a huge fan of caramel or toffee, but I absolutely loved this dessert here. My server was friendly and nice. I got drink refills promptly. She also helped me figure out where the washrooms are, as it was my first time dining at this location. I love Earls. I am glad that I can visit Vaughan to get my fix these days. Went for Happy Hour- Noah took great care of us! Excellent jalapeño margarita and .. yay!!- a California Chardonnay (Murphy-Goode) on the menu. Blackened swordfish taco was a perfect light appetizer to share (2). Family lives close to this Earls location so it is a perfect "sneak away" place to grab some cocktails and a snack. Earl's is another American, Thai, Japanese and East Indian-infused restaurant. This place is very upscale and located in the St. Vital mall parking lot. I usually frequent this place before and after some shopping. Their menu is one big sheet that also includes dessert. They do not have as many meal options as Joey's or Moxie's. It could also be because I came in for lunch. My chicken, Brie and cranberry chutney sandwich was fantastic. The chicken was juicy and tender. There were big slices of melted Brie that I could taste in every bite. I loved that the cranberry chutney tied everything together. Our waitress was very friendly but she wasn't a great waitress. She forgot my garlic aioli and never refilled our drinks throughout the meal. I had to flag another waiter for a refill. No Bueno! read more

Earls was a family standby growing up for dinners out. The menu and décor have changed over the years but my parents still love going here for dinner now and then. My favourite thing on the menu is the Apple/Brie/Chicken sandwich. It's been on the menu for a number of years. It seems that they added fig jam since the last time I ate there. read more

What it is. A chain "fancy" restaurant. Over priced for not-so-good food. I had a chicken brie sandwich was had so much mayo it was practically made from it, and the lettuce from the salad was definately not fresh, it was so wilted and almost brown and I was still served it. Like to watch the game? One of my favorite spots in Winnipeg went bad on me last Friday. I had booked a table a day in advance clearly asking if they had a large screen to watch the playoffs. Sure, we do! Arriving at the place it appeared they had put us farthest away from any screen at the far end of the restaurant away from he bar. The rest of the place was full. Very disappointing and of course impossible to find another place in town to minutes before the start. My husband and I are regular Earls patrons but I don't know for how much longer. More menu changes, now no calamari! Tonight I had the tofu zen bowl with greens instead of rice (an option on the menu) and it was hugely disappointing. It was over the top salty, the only dressing on the greens seemed to be soya sauce. The avocado had large black spots (I get how quickly avocados turn, but from the kitchen to in front of me?). This is a classy restaurant with a very limited menu and overpriced food and drink. My friends really like this place, so we come here fairly often. I am pressed every time to find something good on the menu, and even those things that they have that are ok are just way too expensive. It is also a weird environment that seems confused about what it wants to be. It is a fancy restaurant with fancy food and hot, scantily clad waitresses on one side, and then (unseparated) on the other side its a sports bar with loud obnoxious football fans and flat screen tvs. Its not a sports bar or fancy restaurant, but a strange fusion of the two. I come to earls often for lunch and its one of the few restaurants ive never had bad food or service. Went here eight months ago for a date, the atmosphere was dark which is nice for a date, there are candles at the tables. If you don't reserve you will most likely have to wait for a table. The food was a 7/10. Went to the bar on two occasions, faster service sitting at the bar, drinks are mildly priced. Food is reasonably priced. This is by far the best restaurant experience my husband and I have had since Kelsey's Restaurant closed. Our waitress was Nicole and she was able not only explain the menu but also point out 3 of her own personal favourite dishes and explain in great detail about them. Their Manager was so happy to hear about our amazing time we were havering and comped our desserts! This is rare in hospitality industry! My wife and I has lunch here today. We both ordered the soup and salad with pan bread.. The soup of the day was mushroom. A nice light bite to it and loaded with mushrooms. Quite Possibly the worst food and overall experience I have ever had. I am usually very forgiving when it comes to a restaurant and know that there are different places for everyone. Since I don't have time to write it all down lets just do bullet points on why you should steer clear of this place. -Drinks are amazingly watered down. Ordered not only alcoholic drinks but just soft drinks and you get maybe 2 sips out of them. If your ice is to the top of your glass and there is no drink left that is a bad thing. Particularly when you are paying way more then you should in the first place. - There is nothing on the menu. Took 10 min to decide what I wanted not because there is a great selection but what do I like the least came into effect. I have had their steak on a previous outing and it was dismal and made me sick so steered clear of that. - Ordered fettuccine Alfredo with chicken (safe choice right) so did my wife. And a cesar salad. Service was fast I will give you that. Salad was good. A bit old on the lettuce side but good and no cheese or topping just Cesar dressing and lettuce which seemed weird. The Fettuccine arrived quick and for someone who has ordered this of of a lot of restaurants it was dismal. I mean I have never seen anything so bad anywhere. - The pasta had hard spots in it. It was drowned in some kind of olive oil fish thing that had an odor fairly offensive. It was already cold when we got it. - The chicken despite looking burned was tough and slimy. I ate it which was a mistake my stomach paid for later. Not nearly as much as my wife who ate the pasta and got really, really sick. - The portion size was no word of a lie only a couple forkfuls. My wife who is a small lady and eats slow finished in 5 min which is sad. - I sat at the table for 10 min didn't touch my pasta and when the server came by I didn't get asked how was the food I got pack that up for you. It fit in a box the size of my palm. We threw it in the garbage outside the store and went to the mall. - Also it is probably a good idea to bring sanitize wipes as the dishes, forks, knifes and spoon I had to clean myself as they had food left on them. Should have been the first indication not to eat the food. The place looks amazing and is inviting and despite the staff there wearing stuff that is degrading and completely humiliating they are very friendly and overworked. I tipped the waitress $14 on a $65 meal despite not eating it for the fact that they have to dress like strippers there they should at least get some compensation for the degrading outfits. NEVER WILL I GO NEAR THAT PLACE AGAIN. read more
