Update- 20th June Got to call it !! Have been regular here for months but today's visit on Father's Day was disappointing. The server told us that they have a new chef who has made a decision on dishes. Example chicken and waffle looks very different, they've cut out apple butter and tater tots which used to come with it. My second time coming to Earls now and both times weren't bad. 1st time going was with my 12 yo daughter for daddy daughter date night. So we sat outside on the wrap around patio, great chill seating to enjoy the food and people watching from the brewery across the street. The Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich was good just wished it was bigger portioned. Service was okay this night, as a whole the visit was good. 2nd time going was date night with my wife. So they had serious staffing issues, it was dead but we ended up with a super nice bartender guy waiting on us. It was either his first night or first week there and he felt so bad about the slow kitchen service, but he was great. I had their burger that seemed to have everything on it, it was makeshift but it was good. Food wasn't anything to write home about this time but we weren't in a hurry on a Tuesday late night and really the personality on the bartender/server was awesome and made the visit worthwhile. read more

On my first visit to Earl's, I ordered the tomato and basil pizza to take to Wiseman Brewery across the street. The service was excellent, the atmosphere is rustic and inviting. There is plenty of seating inside and out with gorgeous views of the Winston skyline. I wish they had not been out of catfish as I was really wanting to try the catfish sandwich. The pizza was flavorful and delicious with a cold beer from Wiseman. They will deliver to Wiseman for free if you're not in the mood to walk across the street. read more

My husband and I drove over an hour to take my dad/stepmom and brother out for Father's Day brunch. We called a couple days in advance to make reservations. Arrived and told we didn't have a reservation. Showed the host (Brandon) my phone to confirm where I called. He said unfortunately we'd need to wait at least 45 mins because they only had 2 servers. He offered water. I asked for the manager, the manager explained reservations aren't guaranteed at this restaurant. Manager shared we weren't paying $500 for food so this was typical. While I understand things can happen/change there was no customer service. Not a welcoming environment. read more

In town for Pride and the food trucks were super busy; we parked near this place and decided to give it a try. The ambience is incredible, the bar is , the drinks were yummy, the service was decent for a busy day. It looks like they only had 2 servers on duty but there were bar codes on the table to place your orders and to pay. The only problem is, once you order through the server, there's no option to pay online, so you have to wait until they have a moment to check on you to get your check. The food was ok. It looked divine but the chicken and the flounder were dry. I expected the chicken to have more flavor but it fell short. Sadly. It's a nice piece of chicken though. Very mediocre over priced food. Left majority of it on the table (as seen in the pictures) and it was $100. The lemon pepper wings were over seasoned. The BBQ wings were not very tasty as the sauce tasted very cheap and store bought. The tater tots, onion rings and fries came out cold. The Mac and Cheese was both crunchy and juicy? The grits were solid and the best of the dishes I got. My wife liked the greens, but my mom didn't care for them as she said they didn't taste done. The ambiance was nice and the scenery was very nice for a restaurant. That and the service of waiter Adrena was the only thing that got this place a 2 star. She handled all the missteps with class and didn't charge us for the sodas which has no carbonation. She even offered complimentary sweet tea as they could not fix the machine. I had high hopes for Earl's, I really did. I was very disappointed though. My friend and I went here for Sunday brunch after hearing great things about the food and drinks at Earl's. There weren't many customers when we visited however the service took FOREVER. We were seated 20 minutes before anyone even came to take our drink order, then another 15 minutes before we got our waters. We also order breakfast shots but didn't receive them until after our food came out. I got the chicken sandwich and tots. The chicken was very bland and flavorless. Thankfully their ranch was great so I dipped it in that to give it some flavor. The tots were good but nothing special. The atmosphere of Earl's is fun and it would be a good place to sit at the bar and get drinks, but definitely not to dine in. read more

Highly recommended for the food and attentive/professional services. Atmosphere is of a country style salon and restaurant. The onions rings in my opinion are the best I've ever tasted. They sell all types of whiskey on their bar along with some tasty mixed cocktails. Management talks to you and treat you like family. I love the way it's roomy so no trouble moving around inside and plenty of table outside also for you to dine. Prices are reasonable and again it's worth it. The tator tot nachos were decent. Our chicken sandwiches were way too heavily breaded and hard, which is probably why the toppings are wet and plentiful. The corn was overly charred one one side, but otherwise decent. The burger was okay, but also messy. I've been to Earl's a few times now, including twice in the last week. Unfortunately, despite the cool decor and generally good service, the experiences have repeatedly been disappointing. Which is less forgivable given the high prices. We tried their new lunch menu, which was super slow (it took about 25 minutes for the food to come out, despite there being maybe 15 patrons in the whole place). The meatloaf sandwich was good (because their meatloaf is), though cut entirely wrong for the bread. The salad we got was fine - good chicken, but mediocre salad parts. We can forgive this somewhat because it was their first week of lunch. However, we went to dinner shortly after with my two kids. One of them has a peanut allergy, which we let the server know and she was very careful to note it. However, when the first food came out (an appetizer, though it was supposed to be with the main dinner), the order was wrong - it had a number of things in it we had requested be left off. This happens, but is very concerning given the allergy issue. It turns out they actually brought us someone else's food by accident, which is even worse in terms of a left safety. They eventually convinced me to stay by assuring me there were no peanuts in the entire building so despite the errors it would be safe. That said, when the kid's food came out, they again messed up and gave him the wrong side. Despite all this, including us trying to leave, no manager came out to talk to us and there was no discount or gift card or anything to make up for it. The server was apologetic, and defended herself, blaming the back staff, but ultimately that doesn't do much good for the restaurant itself. We will definitely not be returning for anything food related. Their open mic night for drinks is a nice atmosphere, but their kitchen is unfortunately a disaster. read more

I've been here a couple times and I'm just now getting around to leaving a review because I forgot to take pictures in the past. I had a plum sour beer which was very tasty, Amarillo taquito appetizer (possibly my favorite part) & the Buffalo bird sandwich with slaw, pickles & blue cheese. The toppings on the sandwich really make it pop, I'm not even much of a fan of blue cheese, but it goes so well with this. Everything was delicious. The only thing that could've made it better would be if the Buffalo sauce was more powerful, I wasn't getting much Buffalo flavor. The Mac and cheese was so cheesy, when you lift it up on the fork the cheese stings behind it. The atmosphere is really cool in there as well, pictures all over the walls, trees with lights on them, it's a vibe. Will be back again of course! read more

I came here on a Thursday night with some friends and thought it was a cute place in Downtown. The atmosphere and vibe was exactly what we were going for, and we loved the patio outdoor seating. I was hoping the food options would be a little bit better but for a brewery type bar it was fine. We ordered the beet salad, loaded potato skins, and fried pickle chips! The fried pickles were my favorite by far. The goat cheese on the beet salad was delish as well but I wasn't a fan of the loaded potato skins. The service there was amazing. I wasn't drinking but the waitress came and kept making sure my friends and I were taken care of very well. Awesome vibe and super cute place for some brick wall pictures! 5 stars without a doubt. The place is in the perfect location, across from the Ramkat. We really enjoyed the atmosphere here, especially with the outside seating and the relaxing view you get. The staff is extremely nice. The owner is outstanding! He goes up table to table to make sure you're getting a good experience. He's super friendly. We got a kick out of the fun menu options. My husband and I visited Earl's a few weeks ago when we were in the mood for some spicy chicken sandwiches. We started with some loaded fries. The last time I had visited, they didn't have fries. I didn't get a picture of the fries because we were starving and inhaled them! The fries were great, but I think I would have preferred them not loaded, personally. Obviously, by our inhalation, we still liked them. My husband had a dry rubbed and wet combination chicken sandwich. It was a bit spicier than he would have preferred. Not too hot. Just a little too much to enjoy the flavors. Mine was just wet spicy. I believe the Nashville hot. Add slaw, of course. My husbands Mac and cheese was typical Mac and cheese. Tasty but nothing out of the ordinary. My tots were the standard side for the sandwich. Since we had the loaded fries, I didn't care what side I had. I think I maybe had one of the tots. Probably should've just gotten fries as a side. But that was my hanger ordering an app! So my fault. Drinks were tasty, though a little pricy. It wasn't very crowded while we were there. I believe a Friday, but we tend to eat dinner very early. I am glad it wasn't very crowded as we ate inside and had half of the place to ourselves. I love the decor inside. We came here for Sunday brunch. This place ruined the rest of my morning. Here is what we got: Cage free deviled eggs: Eggs were not made to order. It tasted leathery and the yolk piped onto it was smushed likely from poor storage. Oh and $9 for 2.5 eggs. Wings: It was cooked properly but seasoned very poorly. Dry rub was 'sprinkled' on top of the wings. This was $12. Burger: Looked pretty good on the outside, fried egg looked perfectly over medium. Didn't taste this. Fried chicken eggs Benedict: This was a 0/10. The chicken was brined but still somehow managed to be dry rubbery and hard to swallow. Muffin and sauce was just bad. Let me start by saying this was from a takeout order. We were hanging out at Wise Man Brewing and got a recommendation for Earls. I ordered The Early Bird sandwich with a side of Mac & Cheese. My wife ordered the Winston Hot Chicken with a side of Creamed Corn. My chicken sandwich was cooked very well. The large breast was fried golden brown. An often overlooked component of burgers and chicken sandwiches is the perfect egg. This egg was over medium which allowed the yolk to run over the entire sandwich. As good as the sandwich was, the mac and cheese was just as good. Creamy, cheesy goodness. My wife's hot chicken wasn't what she expected. She was expecting something in the area of Nashville Hot but was just Winston Hot. The slaw was a nice addition. The Creamed Corn was underwhelming, a little salt would go a long way. I was excited to give it a try after catching the aroma while waiting for our order. Overall solid... Being close to the brewery is a plus, I would have no issues recommending to a friend. read more

Visited Earl's for an early dinner with three friends on a Saturday night. The restaurant was probably 25% full and yet the person at the host stand had quite the trouble finding a table for us. There were a plethora of 4-tops available. Our group started with the pimento cheese and saltines. It was a solid pimento cheese and provided a nice started for the table. We all got variations of the chicken sandwich. I got the Winston Hot Chicken with baked beans. It was just OK. Good flavor but the thigh (I'm pretty sure they use a chicken thigh) was pretty small for an $11 sandwich. The sandwich didn't have as much heat as I thought it might. I liked the baked beans. They were sweet which I wasn't totally expected but it was good. Maybe the best part of the meal was the cookie. They have BIG cookies for sale. On the night I visited, I think it was a Reese's peanut butter cup cookie. Crunchy outside, soft inside. Yum. I really like the vibe of the place and how it's decorated. I'll definitely return for drinks in the future but may go elsewhere for dinner. read more

So second time I came here. Once during covid and no sort of post covid. Not one employee is wearing a mask. Handling food should be taken more seriously. But whatever. Place is clean. Cool atmosphere. I want to like it more with the old brick and old wood floors. But it's Very expensive. I wanna like it more but Ordered a fired chicken sand which(14$) worth 9 , a salad(16$) a can, yes a can of Miller lite (4$) and a wine spritzer (9$). As you can see. Bar food, cheap drinks was with tip over $50. In other words, very pricey. The food is really good. I'll give them that but the service is super slow. Both before covid and lightened up covid times. Full staff as well but they just seem to not move with any urgency. I like it but it's just way to expensive for such simple food. I'll be back but only when I plan to get ripped off. read more

I came here on 1/15/21 around 4:35/4:40ish. My co Worker and I were hungry and needed something quick and easy to eat. We are doing keto, so there are limited options. My co Worker found this place. After looking at the menu, we saw a couple things and it was a close to the office. The inside of the restaurant has dimmed lighting and They're open late (2am). We ordered to go. We got chicken wings (10 for $10). They are normally fried and breaded but we asked if could be non breaded. After the waiter, Brian, checked with the chef, they said we could. We got them naked. Sauce options are bbq, sauce and vinegar, and Buffalo. We also got pork rinds. We ordered the Cheeto flavor (as it sounded interesting). Shortly after, someone came out the kitchen and stated they don't have Cheeto flavor right now and won't have it anymore, which is a bummer. The waiter, Brian, stated that it was good and we was looking forward to trying it. With that being said, I just got them plain. After thinking, we asked if they had a cheese dip, which they do. We got it to replace the Cheeto flavoring, free of change We were told it would take 5-15 minutes. It was more on the 15 minute side, but luckily we were up the street from the job. The pork rinds were perfect! I really dislike hard pork rinds. They were still warm and cracking. The cheese was hot. When I dipped the rinds in the cheese, it was a crackling noise, so appealing. The wings were hot and fresh! They were so good. We ended up getting about 14 wings total. We split the wings and the pork rinds. The overall experience and taste of the food was great! I do, however, think $7 for the pork rinds is kinda high. I really think it should be like $5. I can't wait to come back and actually sit down and eat. Staff were wearing masks. Came on a Monday night for dinner and it wasn't very busy. Our service was average. We started our meal with drinks from the bar and the Brussel sprouts. The "I Fall to Pieces" cocktail was refreshing and not overly sweet. The ingredients tasted fresh and is definitely something I would order again. The Brussel sprouts were my favorite part of the meal. They were roasted perfectly and the Parmesan and chow chow added great flavor. Every bite with the chow chow has a little spice to it but it wasn't over powering. We had the dry rub sandwich and the buffalo. The dry rub was a little spicier. Both sandwiches were fried, not heavily breaded and kept their crisp. The blue cheese crumbles went great with the buffalo blue. Earls was never a place I went thinking "I'll eat here!" I have been a few times just to enjoy music and the bar- and after eating I know why. The fish and chips came out and there were huge pieces of fish that had me all excited. Took a bite and 90% batter 10% fish. I cut open each piece to see if maybe it was just that one- nope.. hot chips sustained me for the night. My friend got the friend chicken sandwich after being told from our server that it was juicy and her favorite thing. No shock here- Dry and over battered. Tater tots sustained them. Maybe we hit a bad night .. but I won't be finding out by coming back to try again. read more

Enjoyed all of the food we ordered: Brussel sprouts were delicious, pimento cheese seemed to be homemade and yummy (would like a thicker cracker to scoop it up), can't go wrong with tater tot nachos with some jalapeños! But what took me by surprise as my favorite was Earls Caviar! So different than anything I've tried recently, and incredibly flavorful with the exact right amount of spice.
