    Chili Garlic Noodles
    Andrea R.

Tried Iza for the first time and was pleasantly surprised by the options. By recommendation of Yelp, I went for the chili garlic noodles which were really tasty. My husband went for sushi which he said was good but not filling. We ordered takeout at 7:30 on a home football game Saturday so we expected there might be delays but the staff kept me informed while I waited. The inside ambience was really nice and there's lots of outdoor seating so we hope to try it again sometime soon.

While visiting my alma mater in Chapel Hill, I came across this cool restaurant...and had to stop in to check it out. The place was quite stunning, with lotsa bold colors. Since this was possibly a hopping late-night hangout, the place was pretty empty when I arrived earlier. For some reason, I didn't expect the foods to be as smashing as the ambiance. However, I was SO wrong! I tried their Miso Soup...and it was possibly one of the best I've ever had...with a generous dose of seaweed and tofu. Also, I tried their Chili Garlic Noodle w/ Shrimp, and it was beyond good. All-out DEE-Lish!! This was possibly the favorite restaurant I visited during my recent road trip to the Triangle Park area.

I went here for an impromptu dinner date and was impressed by the abundant selection of whiskey and sushi, as well as the cozy yet sophisticated vibes. The food was delicious and the service staff were welcoming.

This place is so good for a fun Friday night it has such good food and service I would come here every day if I could

I love this place. The sushi and ramen are amazing I would bet that everything on the menu is great. The service is always kind and helpful and the ambiance is perfect for a date night or any dinner evening. I frequent this place and 100% recommend to anyone.

Great price point for delicious sushi. Friendly staff and there is a parking garage right next to the restaurant.

Fantastic spot with great service. Solid whisky selection that goes well with a number of sushi selections. My Dovetail pour paired really nicely with multiple (fresh) sashimi and nigiri options. Really enjoyed chatting with the owner and the staff. Definitely will be back next time around.

Really cool place! Great concept. Loved the sake recommended by the owner and the impeccable service at the bar. I had the bento sushi box. Sashimi was fresh and delicious. Next time, I will try a whisky off of the huge list.

When searching for a late-night dinner option after my brother's graduation in Chapel Hill. I came across Iza! The restaurant was surprisingly relatively busy around 9 pm, but there were still plenty of tables open for us. The interior was nicely decorated and I enjoyed the atmosphere! Throughout our meal, our waitress was so nice and apologized for the wait time for the food even though we didn't have to wait long. The menu had many options from various Asian cuisines, and we ended ordering the shrimp yaki udon noodles, green curry chicken, twisted mango by sammy roll, carolina roll to share, and sweet and sour chicken. We were surprisingly able to finish everything we ordered and it was all delicious! The owner even stopped by at the end of the meal to congratulate my brother on graduating! Overall, I had a great time at Iza and would come back!

This place was amazing. I went for a birthday dinner with a large party, and initially we wanted to sit inside. However it was a nice night, and once we got there we changed our minds. Despite already setting up our table, they were so nice and accommodating and moved our seats outside. The service was great, with the owner going above and beyond. If you go, definitely get the garlic noodles- they were a 10/10!

    Skull island and Iza Crunch

I came here for my birthday dinner. I was in a party of 4 and wanted to sit outside because it was way too quiet for a birthday dinner inside. Riley was a great server and was very accommodating and nice. However, the all of food was bland and the iza crunch tasted like floral cleaner. When I requested a swap or refund on one roll, I was denied both options for both options I still had to pay. Don't come here for bday celebration.

Good but pricey! Came here for dinner when my parents were in town! The sushi is great. Very fresh. Our waiter was very friendly and excited to take our order. Very small place but it wasnt very crowded when we got there.

Dined here last night after work with my co worker. It was walking distance from our hotel which was great. I enjoyed our meal. We ordered a ton that wasn't included in the pictures but I will say the spyder roll was amazing. I will say the hot stone steak small plate was not really worth it but everything else was delicious. Chili garlic noodles so so good! Overall nice spot as our server was super helpful and accommodating.

Started with the appetizer special which was a sampler of apps, and our server was nice enough to sub in some pretzel bites for us. All of the apps were good though, hot and fresh and even more importantly, tasty. We got the mozzarella sticks, pretzel bites, and bangin shrimp. For the main dish I got the spicy smash burger and added bacon. The burger was pretty tasty, both patties were juicy and overall it was the perfect spice. I will say, the burger patties themselves didn't really seem like smash style patties, they were fairly thicker and seemed to be normal grilled patties. Having two was almost too much burger to bun/topping ratio in my opinion. Fries could have been a little more seasoned and crispy as well, but that's more of a personal preference. Also got the Dark and Stormy cocktail as well. It was a nice and refreshing drink to get the meal started, two rums with lime juice, vanilla, and soda water. Overall, the meal was pretty good, and would still come back again!

They arrived and were coned nicely and had a great taste. (Still no silverware or napkins) we asked for napkins of course at this point because our hands are sticky. Food came. Burger was missing lettuce (easy fix) he said his steak was cooked PERFECTLY (still no silverware) I requested more mayo and more dressing (still no silverware) we realized there wasn't any silverware when he wanted to cut into the steak. So we had to request silverware. Back to the steak.... Cooked PERFECTLY..... zero seasoning. Added a little salt and requested steak sauce and the steak was demolished. My wales saw my water getting low and said she was coming with more water. I finished my water she came by and asked if we needed anything.... Water please. With a few adjustments to the obvious (having silverware at the table when seating customers, and keeping a real eye out for drinks) this place might be alright. The servers were pleasant and the place wasn't crowded at all. A total of 4 other parties were in and out during our visit.

We all shared an order of fries for the table, which were amazing. Then I got the grain bowl with shrimp, and everything was perfectly prepared and delicious. Seriously, if you can't find a pour you like here, you may just need water instead. Started with the biscuits topped with crackling and house-made preserves, and honestly, that combo alone made me question why I don't eat more biscuits in life. Sweet, salty, buttery chaos in the best way. For the main, I went with the pork chop and greens. The chop leaned a little overcooked for me personally, but the sauce helped bring things back together and added good flavor. The greens had a nice little kick of heat, but I kept waiting for that deep smoky ham hock flavor to show up like an old Southern grandma entering the kitchen... and it never quite arrived. Overall though? Still a solid meal, strong whiskey program, cool atmosphere, and definitely worth checking out if you're in Raleigh looking for a bourbon-forward dinner spot. Travelin_Broke approved with a slight side-eye from the greens.

Anthony is my fav bartender but everyone does an amazing job. I love the on the menu jalapeno strawberry margarita, but like this night pictured if I want something else he will make it for me ! This wasn't my first time having the collard sausage dip and I could eat it with my hands it was so delicious freshly made and creamy ! This is hands down the best dip I've ever had and to top it off the fried pita !! My only complaint is there aren't enough pitas to dip ratio but I will order more next time. And I found the dip greatly paired with the catfish. ( no judgement) The catfish is something I've had before but I didn't have the pleasure of the waffles the last time and let me tell you ! This is a work of art. I want to personally meet whoever made this idea of layered fish , greens and waffles but it was heavenly. And I wanted to eat it all but my stomach just wouldn't allow it. I did however heat the leftover the following morning for breakfast and they were still perfect. Last but not least the Mac and cheese was creamy, noodles were perfectly cooked and it was seasoned to a T. I'm picky on Mac and cheese being my favorite food and they do it justice. I also tried their garlic parm boneless wings & they were so good. I loved how seasoned & salty they were, although they might be too salty for some people. I really loved it though! Their cocktail menu is also really interesting & creative. It's mostly whiskey of course but they do have other spirits. I tried the peanut butter & jelly Old fashioned and it was surprisingly delicious. It really did taste like a PB&J so I highly recommend. The inside is small but there's a nice outdoor seating area too. This really is one of my favorite places to get food in the area BUT the only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because anytime I've been there remotely close to closing, they definitely let you know & make you feel rushed. I'm not one to go to restaurants last minute when they're closing because I know how that can make it difficult for employees, but being somewhere 45 minutes before they close shouldn't warrant getting rushed. I've been there before just to have a few cocktails at the bar about 45 min before closing & had the same experience. I still really love this place & will keep going (but probably not within an hour or so of closing lol)

The Food We ordered the Shrimp Katsu ($16) with rice and the Beef Teriyaki ($18), since they were out of the Salmon Teriyaki. A major red flag was hearing a series of loud microwave beeps immediately after placing our order. The food came out after 10-15 minutes. The Positive: Both of our meals came with excellent rice that was fluffy and fragrant, and a small side salad with a standard ginger dressing. The Disappointment: My Shrimp Katsu was highly disappointing. It tasted nothing like shrimp and resembled processed meat, similar to imitation crab, but shaped like mozzarella sticks drizzled with sweet mayo. The texture and flavor were clearly not fresh shrimp. My wife's Beef Teriyaki was also underwhelming. The beef was chewy and served over soggy lettuce, with a very basic, overly sweet teriyaki glaze. The Service The lone waitress was polite but demonstrated poor customer service skills. The most jarring part of the meal was when she began to hover near our table while we were eating, making us feel rushed. At 8:20 PM, she told us they were closing at 8:30 PM, pressuring us to finish quickly. Their Google listing clearly states a 9:00 PM closing time.
