I ordered a BLT on white bread with hot chips. I received a hot mess. The bun was burnt, lettuce wilted, green tomato wit raw hot chips that were dipped in cold grease. The bacon looked like leftover crumbs. Very disappointed and will NEVER order from here again! read more

I arrived around 9:25pm with some friends. It was not that busy at all. There were a few people at the bar and a few people outside. We sat at the bar to order some drinks. I ordered lees spiked lemonade which was $6.18 per my receipt. Our server/the bartender asked us how we were splitting the checks after placing the drink and food order. My friends had ordered food but I hadn't yet. I found it super weird that server brought us our checks after putting in their food order... None of us asked for the checks, lol. I didn't pay mine at that time because what if I wanted more or the food took too long and I said nevermind? On top of that, I wouldn't be able to give an accurate tip. My friends paid their and they admitted that she missed out on a higher tip because of it. I ordered 12 wings (half garlic parm and half lemon pepper) around 9:35pm. She put my order in and brought another check. I was truly baffled because we just got here. My wings came around 9:53pm At 10:02pm, one friend got his sub and at 10:03pm, another friend got her quesadilla. It was odd because they ordered before I did and got their food after me. The garlic parm wasn't what I expected but they were decent. They were "wet". The lemon pepper wings were great for the most part. I tried my friends quesadilla in which she put bbq on it and it was delicious! I love BBQ sauce, even on my pizza lol. Cassie was the server/bartender per receipt. I didn't pay until about 10:35pm when I was done with my food and drink. At 11:02pm, we were still there.. So I went and got another drink, which was the same as before. However, I used the other bartender. This drink was a little more sour than the first one. I think the bartender knew it but ran out of simple syrup. I tried to suck it up and drink it but it was too sour. I enjoy sweet drinks lol. I went back to the bar to have them add more simple syrup. She had to make more, which she did in front of me. It was MUCH better afterwards. read more

Lee's Brass Taps is a small bar and grill. We went there on a Saturday night! Ordered nachos and they were delicious! Fun, casual atmosphere, with TV's all around, live local music and AC. Our waitress was awesome and on the ball. (I wish I remembered her name) Great prices. I never used the restroom, so I can't comment on that. Most customers came rolling in around 8:30PM. BUT my suggestion is to get there earlier, eat, drink, enjoy the juke box music until the live band starts. Just make a fun night of it. Drink responsibly, don't be an asshole read more

So terrible that I felt compelled to write my very first yelp review, because I needed to set the record straight. Previously, I always considered yelp reviews to be posted by terribly picky people with way too much time on their hands, but this visit truly inspired me to take the time to post. Yes, unfortunately I was misled by the many 5-star ratings, which I candidly don't understand - are the standards in this town this low??? The place does have a nice patio, which I would recommend, because if you sit at the bar, you get to enjoy an unpleasant dankness that makes you wonder how often they clean behind the taps - my guess - seldom. I should have the known the place was going to be terrible given the obvious tell-tale sign - an empty bar on a NFL Sunday. Doesn't the owner wonder why the bar is empty on a NFL Sunday afternoon? My gut said leave now, but I wanted to give it a shot. I ordered a cheeseburger, and I received a patty that was cooked several hours before if not the day before. Now I'm not very picky, but when the "melted" cheese is a cold plastic coat on top of an equally cold patty, I wondered why the chef couldn't at least hook me up by throwing it in the microwave for 30 seconds. Come on man. The cheeseburger was terrible, and if you can't get that right, what can you do. Apparently very little. I wouldn't eat here unless you like horrible food. I privately complained about the burger to the bartender just before settling my tab, saying it was the worst bar food I had suffered in over 3 years, which is true. In her mind, she thought it would be hilarious to yell across the bar to tell the chef that I thought his burger sucked. Her words, not mine. The chef, who was hanging out in the bar, then smiled and gave me the middle finger, which I didn't mind so much, bc he seemed like a cool guy other than he sucks at his job. I feel bad for him. I simply replied that he wasn't telling me anything with his middle finger that his food hadn't already loudly screamed to me. To me, these folks seem to enjoy being mediocre - and to be honest + they are good at that! And that's fine I suppose, because they'll be trapped in that sad little life going nowhere until they find a passion that spurs more pride in their work to do something they truly do enjoy. I do hope they find that for themselves and sooner than later for the rest of us. Enjoy a beer here, drink it on the nice patio and know it is a dive bar, which is fine. But don't eat here and don't have any expectations for any kind of pride or professionalism in the staff and it's the perfect spot. Cheers! read more

I have been going to brass taps for years now . Within the past few years they started doing half off on Wednesday nights and the prices since have jacked to a ridiculous amount. The bartenders are super slow , even though they have new ones every few months. The whole vibe has changed but the over pricing has become too much. I'm definitely going to other bars in the battleground / lawndale area. I think it's the new owners ! read more

Do not recommend. On Saturday, my fiancé and I were in Greensboro looking for somewhere to eat and when everything was PACKED, we went here where there was no wait. We sat ourselves down and sat for 10 minutes and never had anyone come help us but the bartender seen us and kept looking at us so we ended up walking out and leaving. read more

This place has a ok. Food is a little pricey. Showed up one Saturday and had to wait 40 minutes for someone to show up with a key to open the place. Mt friend and I have been stopping by this Tavern for two years. Although it seems the staff changes each time we are there, we always have enjoyed the music and food. The last few months the service has been lackluster at best. Last night we stopped by to order some food, dine in. It was good but the waitress but not attentive. At least five times my friend and I tried to flag her down. We needed some more dipping sauce. She made eye contact with us and walked away each time. We were then out of sauce and still had food to be eaten. I went to the bar and told the bartender I think our waitress forgot about us. She snipped back that they were busy. We were the only table inside and there was only one table out back. I kindly asked if we could place an order of mushrooms to go. She immediately said they were out. I figured she was on top of what was sold out. However, she said she would go and check. Her checking was walking a few steps to the kitchen. In the interim, the day cook told me there was a whole box of the mushrooms in the freezer. When she came back she said they were out, without checking. I told her I was informed there was a box in the freezer. She immediately got snippy. Most places if you are sold out you either offer other suggestions or try to up sell another item. I really liked both 'bartenders' when I went in but their attitudes throughout the night showed that they did not want to work or be there. I asked for my check, I even tipped well. When my friend and I left, we discussed we would not be returning. There are a lot of other places to grab food, also a lot of other places with much better service. I also wanted to note that prior to going in a former patron left a glass with beer in it right in a parking space. I picked it up and brought it to the bartender when I entered and told her it was outside in the parking lot. She did not thank me or act concerned at all. A beer in a glass in private parking is a huge liability if you ask me. Suffice to say we have given them more than enough chances but we will no longer be visiting this venue and have told our friends the same. Sadly, the also agreed and said their service had been sub par the last few months as well. read more

PRO's: Good line up of local music talent regularly scheduled (I don't think I've ever seen a cover) NFL, MLB and NHL packages available of 10+ HDTV's Daily drink specials are more competitive than many competitors Menu prices are on the better side as compared to other bars CON's: My favorite Chicken Philly is not as tasty as it used to be Big time regular crowd - can be a little stand-offish Fairly quick turnover of staff but they're friendly Bathrooms need a serious overhaul I really don't relate to the perma-customers so I've never become a regular despite its convenient location, decent food and solid beer/alcohol specials. However, it's a decent place to hear some local music or catch your non-local sports team on TV. read more

This is a great spot if you know what to expect. The fish n chips were pretty good. Fish... Eh. Chips.... HELL YES. The drink specials on a Thursday were $2.50 michelob light and ultra. Cheap wines and highballs. I stuck with non cheap beer..... Decent selection for a small bar. The bartender didn't recognize me so she asked my name, introduced herself, and shook my hand. That is the difference between 3 and 4 stars for me. Check it out sometime. I know I'll be back! And actually, I've been again. The music was rocking both times! Cheers for live music in a small bar. Came here last night for a late dinner. They serve their full menu until 2am! Ended up getting the salsa burger and fries. $8 if I remember correcltly. Burger was good if not a bit messy bc of the salsa. Fries were nicely salted and spiced. Bartender was nice but not overly friendly. Had about 16 taps. Plenty of imports but only a few locals. Right around $4 a pint. Had several tvs, a dancefloor, jukebox, and a long bar. Outdoor seating looked fairly nice with plenty of seating. Not the best bar, but a nice option for a laid back dinner or drinks. Wish it was closer to my place. read more

This is a fun little neighborhood spot. The drink specials are always good, and the food, if not overwhelmingly good, is standard barfare served at some of the cheapest prices around. The crowd all seems to be familiar with each other, and the bartender remembered my name after the first time I came in. The outdoor patio has a great, lived in fraternity sort of feel, with corn hole boards and pool tables available. They have fun events such as live music, corn hole tournaments, and a fantasy football league that adds just a little more to the neighborhood bar feel. I should also comment on the beer selection--in addition to being very reasonably priced, it is quite good--more than 20 on tap and more on bottles. I'm fond of this place, and will definitely be back for at least Taco Wednesday--3 tacos for only 2.50! read more

My wife and I were in the mood to try a new place and we got very lucky finding this quaint bar. We had the pimento dip which was excellent and plentiful. Then we shared 20 wings splitting them between hot and extra-hot. The hot were just right for my wife who does not like too spicy and the extra-hot were perfect for me who likes some burn. The staff was very friendly and the service was quick. Definitely going to be a regular place for us from now on. read more

What a fantastic spot. I just recently discovered their Friday music scene. Each Friday from 5:30-8:30 pm some of the finest local and regional talent offer three hours of toe tapping, bone shaking musical fun. The food is mighty fine and served up by a happy courteous staff. Now put all this with some ice cold beer, or another adult beverage of your choice and you can be assured to start your weekend off in the right step. This Friday December 18th Mr. Abe Reid will be firing up the stage with his dirty, boogie woogie style blues. Abe is the 1998 Piedmont Blues Preservation Competition winner, and he went on to represent the area in The International Blues Competition in Memphis Tennessee and walked away as the champion of the baddest blues man in the land.
