I can't believe I'm on yelp reviewing a diner breakfast but god damn this place deserves a minute of my time. I had a Western omelette and the house corned beef hash here yesterday morning and I am still not over that fucking hash. I must have brought it up to my wife 6 times yesterday. I would have eaten it again for lunch. I'm probably going to drive there, to a goddamn STRIP MALL IN WAKEFIELD NEXT TO A LIQUOR STORE, to get breakfast there again, by myself. Service was prompt and friendly, coffee was solid for diner coffee, and it's cheap as hell. Again, take it as a ringing endorsement that I am even sitting here reviewing diner breakfast at all--this is generally sort of a "whatever" genre of meal. But this place was literally transcendent, as-in, they transcended the category. read more

Wow. Wow to the food and wow to the people. I can honestly say I was blown away by this diner -- and highly recommend it. The service is phenomenal. The two waitresses we interacted with were exceptional. They were so friendly - and they put up with my mother's rambling. They gave great recommendations for all of us and honestly they were absolutely wonderful. They took the time to talk to us and have full conversations. Honestly the best service I've had in a long time. We just mentioned that we were in town for my mother's birthday and they surprised her with birthday pancakes with a candle. So sweet and unexpected! Loved it. Now for the food. I ordered the "meat stuffed french toast" and holy cow. SO GOOD. I highly recommend trying this fun dish. This is our new favorite breakfast diner. My husband had the chicken gyro omelet with marble toast, and I had the lamb & beef gyro omelet with marble toast. The omelets were stuffed with meat and tzatziki and were absolutely delicious. The home fries were soft on rhe inside and perfectly crispy on the outside, and the marble toast was excellent. Free coffee came with the purchase of breakfast and was also very tasty. The restaurant is very clean and the wait staff is friendly and attentive. The menu is quite extensive and I'm looking forward to trying many other options. read more

Cute decor, tasty breakfast, average pricing. This is a new little diner that is slightly off the beaten path. The food is good, service excellent, and the diner is very cute. It's well worth a visit. The portions are generous without being overly large. As the ingredients are all top-notch, the pricing is also reasonable. This is not the cheapest breakfast in Wakefield, nor is it the most expensive. It is a nice change of pace from other restaurants that are just average or greasy spoons. read more

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant last Sunday (8/26). Afterward I wrote to the owners to share what happened, however no one has felt the need to respond and so I would like to share my email here, outlining my experience for others to take into consideration before giving this restaurant any more business. Their non-responsiveness speaks volumes. "Hello My husband, friends, and I visited your Wakefield establishment today. We sat at our table at about 11am. Our waitress was prompt to take our drink orders first and then our meal orders. And then we waited and waited. We saw other customers who sat at the same time and after us receive their orders. Our waitress stopped by once to ask if we wanted more coffee. After waiting about 40 minutes, I asked our waitress where our food was and all she said was "It's coming soon." with no acknowledgement of the lengthy wait. I understand that sometimes there are delays, orders slip through the cracks, but I am disappointed that there was no acknowledgement of our wait, not even an apology. Finally after waiting for almost 50 minutes our food came out - and one was incorrect and was immediately sent back. Also I ordered a pancake which was dry and the banana in it tasted underripe. My husband's omelette was watery from the tomato(that he didn't even include in his order). I wanted to speak to the manager before leaving but she looked busy assisting other customers, and so I am sending you this email to share my concerns. Thank you." read more

I could never cheat on Iron Town in Saugus as my go-to breakfast spot, but Early Harvest at least makes me think about doing so. In my two visits here, I have ordered a corn beef hash omelette and Eggs Benedict. Very good all the way around (unique home fries are exceptional). It doesn't touch Iron Town there, but that's like saying the next Patriots quarterback isn't as good as Tom Brady. There is a certain feel that a breakfast diner must have, whether it involves its atmosphere, environment, or service. Early Harvest absolutely has that intangible. This used to be my go to, but not anymore. The waitress I had was new and she didn't really seem to know what was going on. I have went there in the past and I would order a iced mocha cappuccino, but when she gave it to me it was in a smaller cup than usual and there was no mocha in it. If only I knew there would be a downward spiral from here. So next, I ordered the usual triple double, which on the menu says it comes with home fried and toast on the side. The meal comes with bacon, 2 eggs, and a side of pancakes. I asked to sub the home fries for fruit because honestly I've had them there before and I thought they tasted like soap. I also ordered strawberries on top of the pancakes. The waitress never asked what kind of toast we wanted. Kind of strange when it says on the menu that it comes with it. All the other waitress that I have had in the past have asked about what kind of toast I would like. When the food got there, I was shocked. There was not two pancakes, just one and it wasn't even fluffy. It look disgusting and to top it all off, the strawberries were inside the pancake. I asked for them on top. Then we had a confrontation with the owner, who was mean and kind of aggressive. The waitress then made a comment that she was sorry that we were unhappy and didn't offer to help. I wish I had this girls name because she was awful. Instead of offering to help us when we were upset, she just walked away. The owner did nothing either, no apology. Just trying to make us like stupid. Then when we were unhappy, they didn't even offer to comp us for anything. I've had mess ups in the past at other restaurants and they would always do their best to make sure we left happy and willing to come back. There was none of that here. Long story short, I used to recommend this diner to everyone but not anymore. The quality of food and service has gone down extremely. I'm not going back. A place that I would have given 5 stars before honestly deserves none, but I have to give 1 star. The whole meal was $35 and the quality of food that was given to us does not come close to this price. I ultimately had to go somewhere else to eat with who I was with because we barley ate any of our food because we were so angry about the rude staff. read more

Probably the worst breakfast spot we have tried lol. We got it delivered through Uber eats. The menu on Uber eats isn't very clear either so we ended up with two extra orders of homefries thinking the breakfast plates didn't come with homefries as it wasn't mentioned. (I bought two extra plates of homefries that we didn't eat) homefries were whatever. The french toast was bland hardly any flavor not terrible. The eggs were ok. The toast was what we hated the most! Starbucks people- beware macchiato is not a large drink, it's what it's supposed to be: a small espresso with a little foam on top. Running errands on Saturday and looking for a quick bite to eat. We stumbled upon Early Harvest Diner while passing through the area. Prices are very reasonable and the menu is decent in size. Much to choose from and a wide variety of items. There are the diner constants, but also some modified variations with twists. I ordered the California wrap on wheat and my wife ordered a gluten free reuben. Both dishes were great. When they delivered the reuben, there were two sandwiches. They said that the gluten free roles they had that day were on the smaller side so they made two sandwiches instead of just one. Totally surprised us. The sandwiches were also piled high with fresh tasting corned beef. To finish off lunch, we split a gluten free cookie. They have someone local that makes all their baked goods. The gf cookie was quite good and had both cinnamon and chocolate chips in it. Besides delicious food, the service was prompt. Our waitress was very friendly and knew the menu quite well. I believe the owner even came over and asked us if everything was ok. Apparently they just celebrated their 1 year anniversary this October. If they keep up the great food and service, I'm sure it will be one of many. We're looking forward to coming back for breakfast. read more

If you're looking for a quick place, THIS IS NOT IT. Went in and placed a to go breakfast order that contained two breakfast sandwiches. I was informed it would take 15 to 20 minutes. 30 minutes later I had asked how much longer it would take because I'd been waiting 30 minutes. At this point I was informed that my order didn't even get placed into the system until 15 minutes after I originally placed my order. 45 minutes into the whole process the manager came over and said I'm sorry we are busy. They are doing an Absolute terrible job at managing their business. If you cannot produce two breakfast sandwiches in under 20 minutes it's absolutely despicable. My sister and I got the Irish eggs Benedict with house made corned beef hash, coffee, orange juice fresh squeezed from blood oranges, an awesome pistachio muffin (split in half and grilled! Brilliant!) And multigrain toast with house made blueberry jam. Everything tasted amazing! It was more food than we could eat and our bill was only 25 bucks! The decor was so interesting and homey. Very comfortable. Alicha, our server, was so friendly and helpful. We got fantastic service and great conversation. We also had several others check on us and make sure we always had whatever we needed. You could tell everyone really enjoyed working there which makes such a nice experience. We've been here four times now with our family and wanted to share since we love this restaurant. The food is consistently great--our favorites are the stuffed French toast, omelettes and the corned beef hash. They also do a variety of fresh juices which are great. Admittedly our first time started off rocky as it took a long time to get seated (expected), however the staff apparently had some miscommunication as we waited almost 20 min before asking another table's server for help. This situation ended up being a big plus with us however due to how they handled the problem. The hostess immediately apologized and brought us some homemade banana espresso bread which was great. At the end when we asked for our check, the hostess came by again, apologized and told us the entire meal was on the house as she did not want us to think that this was typical of the service. This place is great! Came here on Easter for an after church brunch. It is in a small plaza, but being that not many places were open, we gave this place a try. We got there and even through they were busy, they had us seated in just a few minutes ( and we were a party of 12, with several kids/babies.). The server was helpful and polite, and answered all of our questions as needed. We ordered a variety of things (French toast,pancakes,muffins,etc.), and it was all very tasty. So good that we ordered a round two( guess we were hungrier than expected!) Really no major complaints ( though it is a tight fit on the tables).
