I used to spend a lot of time at this café before they changed concepts. What used to be montage coffee is now obviously Early Yves. They haven't changed a lot, the interior was still decorated, mostly the same, but they do seem to have removed their little vintage store and the books for sale. However, the most recent time I visited and did feel like maybe they were about to change something. Possibly in the middle of redecorating or something like that. They have really great offerings and the space is simple and cute. I got the French breakfast toast and a vanilla matcha. My only thing to say that wasn't ideal, it used to be the barista's and especially the owners were very friendly. On my most recent visit, though it wasn't the same energy. It was kind of funny because I was in the area to get a haircut and my hairdresser made a comment about the same change in service. read more

Early Yves Cafe wasn't quite what we expected for a Sunday morning coffee and breakfast. They had music on the patio and a nice plant exchange. We came inside and had to wait quite some time to get menus to order at the counter, as that day they only seemed to have one. I got a lavender coffee, salmon toast, and we got the apple toast as well. We ordered five items total. After 25 minutes, one coffee was ready (just a simple espresso shot), then mine was ready. We then got the apple toast, about 5 minutes later, one salmon toast, and then finally, about 10 minutes later, another salmon toast. The disjointed way we got our items made it hard to eat together, enjoy our time together, and keep going back and forth. They only have a toaster to make food in, so there must be a better way. As a former barista, I know the coffee shouldn't have taken as long as it did. This place might be good for a weekday stop, but it's definitely less than ideal for a weekend stop when you need somewhere to be afterwards. read more

Order at the counter Berries Mascarpone with mint iced tea & Oatmeal with Chai Tea. Not sure what I expected. But both meals were awesome. Mascarpone cheese atop toast topped with chile raspberry jelly (just enough to let you know it's there)and fresh berries. This place was so freaking cute. I cannot wait to come back. I love this area of 2nd St! All of the businesses that use to be houses. The decor and feel in the shop is great! Every room looks different and has mixed matched everything from chairs to tables and the cutlery! The plates were upscyled and vintage too! I love the thought that went into this place. The girl working was so cute and nice! She was by herself and killing it! Making sandwiches and dishing out mad coffee! There's even a cute little wall with free give back drinks to eachother. Stumbled upon this place and loved it! A great breakfast surprise. It has a cool vibe and an eclectic feel. Jazz music was playing in the background, various types of seating, including a sofa. Board games lying around, an area with books, etc. The manager provided efficient and friendly service and he was a pleasure to chat with. The coffee was great and the food was excellent! I ordered oatmeal, which came with sliced apples, cinnamon walnuts, and various berries, served with a quirky gold spoon. We are from Austin TX. This had all the Austin vibes. Looks like a renovated old home. The oatmeal was instant oats served with warm whole milk and fresh raspberries, blackberries, candied walnuts and green apple slices. SO yummy! And the chai tea was one of the best I have had. I heard on a national news report that a local coffee place was opening a 2nd location in Brooklyn, NY. Well, that definitely peeked my interest. The name of the local place was new to me, but the story seemed to indicate that the local coffee shop had been here for a couple of years. And it wasn't too far from my "hood". What? I thought I knew every coffee spot in 10 miles. So, a little quick "Yelp" research indicated that I am not as up on every coffee spot in town as I thought. Ugh. After a little research, a friend and I headed to Montage. It's in a quiet section of 4th Street NW. A section of town that is slowly growing into an art and antique section of town. Los Ranchitos. They have done some serious street landscaping in the last few years, so I am eventually expecting some street art and food fairs to take place here. Serious parking will be needed, but for now individual lots seem to be adequate. So . . . Montage Coffee & Wine. OMG! I love it! I had latte and Raspberry Mascarpone toast on my first visit. Do you know what heaven tastes like? Well, that is exactly what it was like. So very good. I want to try their other "toasts", but not sure I am ready to venture. I understand this is a woman owned shop. You definitely can tell. Excellent. Customer Service was friendly and professional . . . and very busy. Other folks have discovered this little spot long before I did. Again, it was busy. And a little too chilly to sit outside on their nice patio. They are closed Mon & Tues, or I would be there now. And what about Brooklyn? I guess it is coming soon. Not much info out there, but I do know the LLC was registered in November, 2023, so they are just getting started???? A cute little non-corporate coffee shop. They have a variety of seating options and it wasn't an issue finding a table for our seven-person book club on a Saturday at 11am. The barista was super accommodating when I asked if they could make an off-menu Mexican mocha and it was a good drink. I had the smoked salmon tartine for $12 with added pickled shallots for $1. It was fresh and delicious! I'd definitely recommend it. The barista was very, very slow with the drinks. It wasn't an issue for us because we were there to discuss a book and stayed almost two hours, but you wouldn't be able to drop in for a quick drink here to go. I'm usually not a big or frequent coffee drinker...but once in a while, I have it as a treat along with some other small snacks/bakeries as treats. I was around the area for work and had a bit of time to spend, so I looked up a place to relax for just 30-45 minutes. I ended up choosing Montage because I had bookmarked it for quite a while but never had a chance to stop by since it was a bit far from my place. Well, I was in the area, so I thought it was a good time to finally check it out. Overall, I really like that the cafe is a good place to relax and have a conversation. It isn't one of those places where you feel like you have to leave after you finished a drink at all. Most people stop by to just sit and enjoy life, do their own thing..and the place was cute, quiet, peaceful (with music in the background) that was super conducive to doing what you needed done. I had an iced latte ($5.75+$1 syrup) and a homemade crumb cake ($5.25). I thought it was a little pricey..but was good...although my latte didn't taste much of the lavender syrup as I had hoped and the crumb cake was on a slightly dry/hard side. Nevertheless, both the coffee and crumb cake still tasted good. I would love to stop by this place again when I'm in the area or taking a guest around town to just chill. There's plenty of parking spots (they have their own lot), so it's kindda nice to not have to worry about the hassle and the availability of street parking at all. read more

Very cozy and comfortable coffee shop. An eclectic indoor environment with lots of books for sale as well as vintage clothing. Great parking as well and plenty of indoor and outdoor covered (adjustable umbrellas) patio space. The barista was extremely friendly and explained everything on the menu. Extremely professional service as well. I had the house special which was a latte with honey, rose petals and Aleppo peppers. I love the simplicity of this place: it's where you get coffee and toast. The location is very cute... it's in a small house type setting in the middle of Los Ranchos de Albuquerque. There is plenty of parking and it is easy to find on google maps. The interior is set up in a doll house type of way. It's very cute and they have lots of antiques to give it a retro look. The latte was perfectly fine and can't really complain much expect it lacked syrup, which was my bad. The avocado toast was as also perfectly fine. Nothing special about besides the extreme amount of red pepper they put on it. It doesn't really come with much and is quite small for being $9. They lost a star because they forgot the syrup in my partner's latte and because their workers were extremely loud and it kind of destroyed the cute coffee shop vibe. read more

Their daily brew has the same sour acidic tone of the Little Bear roast. The bread used in the toast is very average, a far cry from the Ihatov bread La Luz uses. This is more of a vintage cozy place to chat with friends, not a "working" cafe. read more

I didn't actually think they'd named it after my second-favorite song from Team America. (C'mon, "I'm so Ronery" was the absolute BEST.) Anyway, let's hope the passage of time only sharpens, strengthens and builds this little cafe that could into the best damn java hut on the planet. It already has several great attributes: delightful coffee with all the non-dairy, vegan fixins; tempting munchies; lots of books and vintage goods, including a fine lookin' pinball game; a daddy-o of an outdoor patio; and wine! Cute spot that combines a coffee shop, vintage store (both clothing and home goods), and a bookstore. They even have a vintage pinball machine! The staff is friendly and it is a nice place to get work done. Menu isn't super wide, which I think is a benefit. What they do, they do well. They source different coffee roasters, the one I had today was from Mizar in Brooklyn. The pastries they get from a local baker called ABQ Crumb. She specializes in French style pastries with unique flavors. The cake was a mango orange pineapple carrot cake with an olive oil buttercream. The cake was dense and dry, but the buttercream was light and airy! The danish of the week was passion fruit with a chocolate streusel. It was incredible! Very flakey and the flavors worked so well together. They also do various events on the weekends like plant swaps, clothing sales, and small craft fairs. We came here for Harvest Moon Books, then ended up staying to read for awhile. A big fan of coffee shops that seem to pop up on a corner out of nowhere, that feel homey yet quirked to the location, which Montage fulfills. It's a tight-knit house setting with pops of brightness over the walls, fun little chill out. One room has a collection of thrifted finds along with the reads. The other has couches and cozy chairs, with more seating out on the porch. We had a special with rose petals in it and the Raspberry Mascarpone. I'm a gruff dude so the hipsters behind the counter were looking at me like what's this guy doing in a place like this? But I didn't mind because it's a great place to sit on a comfy couch and get some work done. I came here just to check it out. I was caught off guard by such small steps leading up the the joint. They were actually a bit hazardous. Anyways, when I reached the top I walked in and saw a cart of dirty dishes immediately to the right. There was then a bright yellow wall which was a nice color choice. However, I used the restrooms and that's where it all went downhill for me. The toilet was dirty and backed up all the way against the wall. Cramped and trapped, I then kept walking and immediately noticed that the inside was essentially an old school house turned coffee shop. Narrow hallways and short archways. I enjoyed the charm and the mini vintage store plus books but the overall store layout was poor. I felt like I was getting too close to a customer looking at books with his better half and half. And when I went over to the barista station + bar, she didn't greet me at all. I had to awkwardly ask to get a photo while she was entertaining other guests. Maybe she forgot she was at work. Which is fine but not when there's someone new approaching. When I asked her what type of latte was in the last yelp review she said "Umm, maybe a Chai latte?" She was wrong. But it's OK. It was a specialty latte. I'm not sure I'll be back unless the owners give it a fresh shot of TLC. read more
