Wow! Loved this spot. Fantastic dairy-free options. We ordered the vegan PB&J and vegan cookies & cream. Both were OUT OF THIS WORLD! It's very hard to find tasty vegan ice cream and this place has it. The line was fairly long - went out the door and wrapped around the exterior of the building, but the team is efficient so the wait wasn't bad. Seating is a bit limited but we were still able to find space for our party of 10. Service was very friendly, and they let you sample/try different flavors. We will definitely be returning the next time we are in town!

Found out about the blueberry corn and knew I had to try it. It's a bit of what's in season in BC but turned out so delicious. I highly recommend it before they run out!

Worth every penny. Great service, great flavors, great experience! They'll let you taste a couple of flavor. All the cups and spoons are compostable. If you find a seat/table, there's complimentary water available, or bring your own water bottle and fill there. Their socials have their current season flavors, or their website. If you are buying by the pint, skip the line and go to the express pints side of the counter.

I ordered the brownie chocolate hazelnut Sammie. Quite delicious. Maybe wish there wasn't nuts in the brownie if I had to really critique it. I sampled a bunch of other ice cream flavors and the baklava, cream cheese and peanut butter chocolate chip were all very delicious. There was a large line outside that took us about 45 min.

Crossed the ocean to get here--but literally though on the Seabus! Stayed in Downtown Vancouver near Gastown so we took the 15 minute seabus to cross! It was about an 8-10 mins walk from the station and was well worth the travel! It was in a nice area with lots of doggies and park/benches/table area. The line was out the door when we got there but we were able to get our ice cream fast! They had the best london fog ice cream (my bf is now a fan) and I loved my matcha! So creamy and not overpowering match flavor and they have the option for you to put your coned ice cream in a cup. More awesome that they had water fountain near the door and a clean restroom! Would come back again!

For our first time in Vancouver, family suggested that we must go to Ernest Ice Cream before we leave. So we headed there on a late night. I got a Double Scoop with the cone upside down in the cup, which is how I usually get ice cream. We ordered the London Fog and the Chocolate Hazelnut Brownie. The London Fog was impeccable. I love flowery and anything Earl Grey, so this was perfect. The Chocolate Hazelnut was great too, solid flavor and loved the brownie chunks in it too. It was like a sweet little surprise. For both ice cream flavors, the consistency was perfect. It was very creamy yet very smooth, delicious, and the flavor shined in each bite. It was also the perfect amount of sweetness too. The ambiance and overall aesthetic was nice; it was clean, very cute white brick touches, and also a little industrial. When we arrived, we were very lucky. Apparently having a line out the door was common. There was no line at all, and service went really smooth. I was surprised at our wait time. And even if we did have to wait in a long line, Earnest Ice Cream would be worth it. I don't know when I'll be back but when I do, I'll make it a point to come here :)

Thank you, Yelpers, for recommending Earnest Ice Cream. This was our first time here after reading a bunch of positive reviews. I thought the vegan Cookies & Cream was deliciously on point and my hubs loved the London Fog ice cream. Generous scoops and vegan waffle cones for the win! Love that there are lots of vegan options. As someone who cannot digest dairy and eggs, this means a lot to me. The staff were friendly and asked about food allergies from the start too. We are definitely coming back to Earnest next time we visit Vancouver!

AMAZING ICE CREAM with 20 flavors (view my pic for all the flavors). Vegan options. Single scoop 5.25 / Double 7.50 We got the London Fog and Milk Chocolate and both were delicious. The London Fog may have been the best ice cream I have ever had. It was so flavorful and tasted exactly like the drink.

Who doesn't love ice cream! This place has great flavors with some rotating season ones. I got a scoop of the (very creamy) oatmeal brown sugar and it was served in a darling little glass bowl. What a cute place!

I was recommended this place when visiting and I was surprised by the line outside the door when we arrived. Luckily we just wanted to get the pint so there was a separate and shorter line to enter. They were so so busy but service was quick. I was in and out within 10 mins. I got a matcha pint and I enjoyed the ice cream. It was airy, fluffy, and not too sweet. I liked that they had a reuse pint container program. I would love to get this again if I were to come back to Vancity!

I have never stood in line for 40 minutes at 9 pm at night for ice cream before. But yes, Earnest is worth the wait.

The folks working there were kind and professional. They looked like wickedly good witches as they added natural ingredients to their metal cauldrons, and then added the liquid nitrogen, creating a rapidly rising fog. So, really, you are getting ice cream and a show! The concoctions emerged as super smooth, not too sweet, distinct fresh flavorful ice cream. It is a small shop with limited seating, so not likely to be a comfie sit down experience for you given how popular the place is, but it is easy food to take to go and a very nice area for a stroll. So, that's the scoop! ;)

We tried the ice cream sandwich, the creme brulee cup, and the s'mores bar. I would say everything was good, but probably not something we would get again. After a while it just got a little too sweet and the portion was a little big so we didn't finish most of it. The next time I go if I ever go again I would just get one thing and share it because a bite or two is probably all you need to satisfy your sweet craving.

When getting the matcha ice cream, I suggest getting straight matcha instead of the twist with vanilla because the vanilla washes out the matcha; it comes through better on its own. The sundaes are fun and a good, more affordable alternative to the similar parfaits at high end matcha cafes. I tried the tuna egg salad crepe and thought it was actually really good! The crepe was fresh and tender, there was a healthy amount of filling, and the tuna salad was actually mostly tuna with just enough mayo to hold it together which is how I prefer it. Again, the service is just through a window - you actually order at an electronic kiosk and the only interaction with a person is when your order is ready. There are two small tables outside if you want to eat there. During the busy summer season, it's very difficult to actually secure one of these tables, but there's other seating on the pedestrian streets just a few blocks away on Robson.

Located in a random spot? Check. Only one staff member working? Check. We've been a couple times and I have yet to see it busy. A few people pop in but no one ever lingers. Most likely because there's no seating. There's also a sign on the counter stating you can only sample 2 flavours during peak hours. There's usually 10 to 12 flavours to choose from; always something unique and interesting. They also have sundaes, ice cream sandwiches and doughnuts on the menu. - Mango raspberry swirl and London fog ($7.00 double) - waffle cone is included and it was better than expected. The ice cream itself tastes a bit denser but still has a creamy satisfying texture. The London fog was fantastic! The mango raspberry was more mango than raspberry but also quite good. - London fog ($5.00 single) - came back on a Monday and they only had four flavours that day. We went with the London fog; just as good as the last time. - Dark chocolate and black sesame with honey ($7.00 double) - the dark chocolate tasted like a fudgesicle but better. Not too sweet and hefty; it was so heavy it almost fell off the cone! The black sesame was delicious. Not quite like the ones we had in Japan but tasty and flavourful. I'll be back again and again!
