Cute little Nero Waffles on Robson in the North end. I've never been to this location, but was not disappointed. It's much smaller than the other location, especially in the kitchen, but very quaint! The server/cashier/barista/chef was very kind. This location must be a tough one to work at - I hope they're paid accordingly! She was a one-woman show, and she was doing a fantastic job at handling the many tasks. (We visited about 4:30 on Saturday on Oct 25) They were great lattes, even some latte art! We went all-out on this visit. I had a Banella Brûlée, absolutely perfect. Everything is a bit sweet but that's what you're looking for when you order an ice cream waffle, right?! The Oreo was also a great choice. The tables are a bit small, but it's manageable. If it was full, I may be a bit claustrophobic but I think it's fine if there's some room. Stepping inside Nero Waffle, you'll be intoxicated by the lovely sweet aroma of waffle batter. It just smells amazing. I'm relatively selective when it comes to waffles, taking Liege over Brussels any day, but I like how Nero Waffles offers both. I stopped by on a Thursday evening shortly before closing and was greeted by a friendly worker. I ordered one mini liege waffle, original flavor. Made fresh, it was warm and good with deliciously caramelized crispy edges. Since it was mini size, it was a perfect dessert. A small place but warm and friendly. The menu actually has a lot of options with a good selection of sweet and savoury waffles, plus you can add-on and create your own customized plate. We had the Brussels waffle with eggs benedict. I had the smoked salmon, which was super thinly sliced. The waffle was big in area but light, airy, and crispy in texture. There was a side salad with grape tomatoes included. The space is mall but cozy. It's one of the few places still serving eggs in the afternoon on a weekday. read more

They were short staffed with just 1 person working for the first 30 mins or so but he was so friendly and really was going above and beyond to help everyone! This place is so cute! I went here with a friend in the morning for breakfast & was pleasantly surprised by the experience. Coffee was super good (I had an iced latte) and we both had waffles, which were delicious. Sweet but not too sweet - I highly recommend the mascarpone which was so so good. Tiny spot, only a few tables in the back, with a small outdoor dining area when the weather suits it. I will absolutely be coming back here in the future! I have been to Seymour location before which is more bigger & trendy. It has way beautiful interior & spacious patio in L shape all around the place. In waffles theprovide the unique Brussels waffles which are soft n crunchy at the same time. We tried both sweet & savoury options of fruit waffle and avocado smash respectively. The taste was matchless. Very yummy and very filling. It's a self service small seating outlet so be prepared. Seating is limited. 2 workers up front doing all the cooking & cleaning, etc. We got our coffees pretty quick. There was 2 others who had been seated before us. First time trying Nero waffles. Absolutely enjoyed it. The waffle itself tasted fresh and not overly sweet which was really nice. The coffee was also really good too and I'm glad we were able to get non dairy options for the milk. The staff were wonderful This location unfortunately is really small with not a lot of seating area or space so do be prepared to have the waffle to go if they're really busy. Well, I can think of a few things... -The berries were a bit on the tart side. Just a bit. -The waffle, while delicious, needed another minute or two to cook. -The Brussels waffle is a tease. As soon as you walk into this tiny, tight store, you can see the staff making their waffles through the glass. Next to it are the mini liege waffles. After deciding for minutes, we finally chose the Dark Chocolate Pistachio and Chocorazz for waffle tasting. We also ordered the avocado Benedict to share.The waffles themselves were not quite special for us; both of them didn't stand out as much as people say they are, especially the Dark Chocolate Pistachio, just a classic chocolate waffle.  However, what really got us to leave a 4 star rating was avocado Benedict! Very well-made poached eggs that burst their yolks when you gently cut through it, along with their housemade hollandaise sauce. I rarely get to try Benedicts, and I could say that this one is definitely my favorite out of all. Wonderful place, great ambiance but super tight and small. Warning - don't believe their website, neither place accepts reservations. We went as family of 5. There are maybe 4-5 tables at this location and we sat at the only one I think that can sit 5. So forget coming here if you have more than 4. I had the French toast waffle. The waffle itself - its among the best for sure I've had in Vancouver. Light and crispy. Wonderful to bite into. I could eat this all day, trust me. I don't think this is the Liege. The bananas were caramelized and it was wonderful. It's not big but big enough. If you want a bigger looking waffle get one of the sweet ones as they come with ice cream. My kids loved them. We ordered one sweet and 2 savory waffles. The smashed avo was good as was the cinnamon pear. However, I was unimpressed with the Paris je t'aime. Typically I know the ingredients on this waffle pair well, but on a waffle, it was a total miss for me. The smashed avo waffle supposedly had pico on it but I didn't find it. Overpriced for what it was in my opinion. The tiramisu latte was good, would recommend that. The chai latte was a miss for me. It lacked the flavors of chai and tasted a bit watered down. The foam on top was more bubbly than foamy. The service was friendly, helpful, and informed on the dishes when we had questions. So I'd give the service alone 5 start. So the 3 star rating is really for the food. The place itself was cozy and warm, but felt the seating was a bit too close to other patrons. read more

Wow! Prices have almost doubled since my last review pre-pandemic, but still a fun quiet spot to stop by after a meal or just to hang. I've always recommended the sweet entrees with the fruits and berries. This time we opted to try the other dairy forward sweet options. 5/5 for the $17 Banella Brûlée - caramelized banana, Nutella, vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and Nutella whip over waffles!! Crème brûlée-like banana was a standout! 4/5 for the $16 Dâme Blanche which we really enjoyed and might have given a higher rating if we didn't taste it side by side with our more favoured Banella Brûlée. Nero Waffles has been on my mind since stopping in on a whim for breakfast a few weeks ago. The workers were kind, made suggestions when we were torn between two options, and got our food to us quickly even though there was a decent sized crowd coming in for breakfast. The waffle was the best waffle I have ever had and the side salad was greatly appreciated as someone who spent the 24 hours before surviving on airport/plane food. Nero is SO good, it was one of my favourite meals while visiting Vancouver. We tried a variety of waffles - smoked salmon, ham, cheese, and tiramisu. Personally I liked the savoury ones the most, specifically the smoked salmon one. The waffle is crispy and fluffy at the same time, while also being light. The cheese one is a bit denser since it is pressed. My friend enjoyed the tiramisu one alot as well, it wasn't too sweet. If I lived in Vancouver I would definitely become a regular. read more

I was confused between the Brussels and the Liege waffle but decided on the Brussels one. I usually eat liege waffles but the Brussels waffle was really amazing. It was super light and crispy which contrasted well with the ice cream and bananas, which were heavy. However, the waffle was topped with whipped cream which was so light and fluffy, so the whole thing came together nicely. I think my favorite part was the bananas brûlée - super crispy and sweet. My friends and I decided to check this place out as a dessert place after dinner. We ended up getting it to-go as the shop was a lot smaller than we expected and there was no seating (which wasn't a problem, but just a shame). However, the interior is decorated so cute and would be nice for pictures! I would love to come back again to get the dine-in experience. I would note though that (at least for to-go) the wait was very long. I think we waited nearly 20 minutes for a single waffle, which was a lot longer than I thought it would take and if I were on any kind of a schedule, I wouldn't come here. But, we got the heaven waffle and it was delicious. It wasn't too sweet to the point where it was overwhelming but it definitely satisfied a sweet craving if you had one. The strawberries were very fresh and the whipped cream was light and fluffy. The waffle was also beautiful (but I got so excited I forgot to take a picture haha). It's a light treat -Brussels Benny w/wild smoked sockeye salmon: Great savory option. I really enjoyed the hollandaise sauce and the smoked salmon portion. So great there's no additional cost for the salmon option. -Mini liége waffles (original, vanilla custard, raspberry, churro, black sesame, pistachio, orange cranberry): All very good. Service was great. Even if you have to sit outside they have heat lamps. Kids loved their waffles. This was my first time eating a savory waffle but the texture of the waffle was great and the combination of brie, Prosciutto, nuts and honey was amazing. The Benedict had a great hollandaise sauce.
