earnest ice cream is my scoop of happiness. we usually grab their pints to enjoy at home, and i love that they rotate their flavours monthly. lately, we've just been treating ourselves to double scoops on a waffle cone instead. there's always something new and seasonal to try, along with their trusty crowd favourites. beyond the ice cream, i really appreciate what they stand for: they recycle their glass jars, support local growers, source ethical ingredients, give back to the community, and just seem like a company that genuinely cares. with four locations, this was our first time visiting the north van one on lonsdale. we stopped by on a friday evening around 8:00 pm, and the line up was out the door (pretty standard for earnest, especially on a warm night). we were craving ice cream, and it was totally worth the wait. staff are super friendly, ask about allergies, and are happy to offer samples if you're stuck deciding. for the month of june, the flavour board at this location was stacked -- tahitian vanilla, cream cheese, cookies & cream (vegan), peanut butter & jam (vegan), spruce bud, mixed berry crumble (vegan), strawberry, milk chocolate, chocolate (vegan), baklava, cookie dough, and matcha green tea. plus their always reliable regulars: whiskey hazelnut, london fog, and salted caramel. with that kind of line up, it's almost impossible not to find something you'll love, or be tempted to try something new. my current go to is the salted caramel, rich, smooth, and just salty enough. i also love their london fog, a comforting earl grey and vanilla bean combo, and their butter pecan with its perfect toasted nuttiness. every october, i stock up on their baked apple pie, which is full of cinnamon, apples, and crusty pie chunks (and that's saying something since i don't even like regular apple pie). this time, i got two scoops on a waffle cone: salted caramel and london fog. my partner had whiskey hazelnut and london fog, and our friends went with single scoops of cookies & cream and berry crumble in a cup. when in vancouver, earnest ice cream is a must, before or after dinner, rain or shine, any time of year. don't be intimidated by the line up. there are four locations, and every one is worth the stop.

Wow! This place knows whats up! My partner and I were staying in North Vancouver for a little over a week for immigration processing and we ended up enjoying ice cream at Earnest Ice Cream every single day. I want to confidently say that this place is the best ice cream ever. I got a ton of sundaes while there and enjoyed everything that build it. Their whipped cream is even out of this world, the ice cream tastes so fresh. The portion was SO PERFECT. I cannot stand establishments that serve grossly large portions of anything . Please please please open a shop in Seattle! :)

There's a reason why the lineup goes outside the door - Earnest Ice Cream never disappoints and always tastes great! We went here after dinner. The lineup was long but moved fairly quickly. I sampled a few different flavours and decided on the salted chocolate rye cookie and Nanaimo bar flavours. I liked both, however, from previous visits, I've enjoyed regular chocolate, London fog, and salted caramel flavours the most! There's limited seating inside Earnest, however, there were benches outside.

Was in the Lower Lonsdale area for a late breakfast and happy to find this Earnest Ice Cream so close. Sampled the Cookies & Cream but went with my go to...Salted Caramel. It is the perfect blend of sweet and savoury...and so creamy. Service was great and it was another positive ice cream experience.

I ordered the blueberry and corn ice cream and it was absolutely amazing! Service was fantastic and let me sample all the ice cream I had questions about. This ice cream parlor was very welcoming and is a must try if you're in North Vancouver.

I saw this place pop up in a recent video I saw about top icecream places in Vancouver. And it lives upto the mark. They have an amazing variety including vegan options and the icecream is so fresh and has the right amount of sweetness! Would definitely go back again.

Run, Don't Walk to Earnest Ice Cream and order Butter Tart Sundae with Tahitian Vanilla Ice Cream. It comes with Whipped cream, Roasted pecans, House made butter tart, and a scoop of your choice. It was 10/10! I would recommend ordering it with vanilla ice cream because otherwise it will be too sweet. We also ordered Rum + Eggnog and Whiskey Hazelnut

I have always been a fan of Earnest Ice Cream. This is the first time for me trying this location. I usually go to the Vancouver locations. Anyways. I came here with a few friends. I got the London Fog and Lavender shortcake. London Fog has always been my go to when I come to Earnest. B ordered Raspberry and Whisky Hazelnut. This was B first time having Earnest and he said he loved it as well. He is sure that they used Crown Royal in their Whisky Hazelnut ice cream. We also came with or other friend H. H lives nearby and I have to say she is very lucky to be close to Earnest Ice Cream. This is also her favorite ice cream place. There are plenty of free parking right outside in front Earnest never disappoints. I recommend coming here and having their ice cream.

I visited Earnest Ice Cream on a whim when strolling around Vancouver. I knew I wanted some ice cream and this showed up right on Google maps without having to input any information so I took that as a sign. There was a small line when I arrived but it went really fast. All of their flavors are listed outside on the window and they have a cute traffic light that will turn green when they're ready for you inside. The cashier helping me was extremely friendly! I asked her what the "sweet corn blueberry" was like because I love blueberry and was curious and she helped explain it to me. She also said, after scooping it for me, that if I didn't like it I could let her know and she'd get me a different one (they aren't doing samples due to COVID). But, thankfully that wasn't necessary because the sweet corn blueberry was amazing!! I didn't expect to like it as much as I did but I would absolutely get it again. I'm also usually a "bowl not a cone" kind of girl but you HAVE to get the cone they're so good!! And they pack the ice cream all the way to the bottom which is awesome. If you like blueberry and a bunch of sweetness, this is definitely the flavor for you. I can see why they're popular!

I've been to two of Earnest's locations and both have met my high expectations! I love having more than one token vegan item to choose from - and a rotating monthly menu - and always being paired with kind staff! Many thanks for making my first summery day outside a nice one.

Famous for ice cream and for good reason! They have a good selection of in house made flavours and a surprising amount of vegan options. They'll also do kids portions with sprinkles on top. We tried serious chocolate which was really rich and delicious, a somewhat fudgy consistency. We also tried salted caramel which was lacking a little of the salt aspect, but was rich and creamy. And finally espresso flake which had a strong coffee taste with delicate dark chocolate flakes throughout which I really enjoyed. Next time I'll try the mint chip with the same flakes throughout. Reasonable sized single scoop. They also have some rather tasty sounding ice cream sandwich creations that are grab and go which are tempting. Only thing is it adds up quick when you're going for a family treat. Definitely a lovely treat though, any time of year.

Vegan sundae with vegan chocolate ice cream (minus the cake it usually comes with)

We stopped in on a rainy Friday to get a treat and we were not disappointed. The flavour offerings are diverse, and I was happy to see multiple dairy-free (vegan) options! I had the vegan sundae (minus the cake because gluten hates me) and it was scrumptious! My kiddies said the cookies and cream was amazing, and the other adults got whisky hazelnut, London fog, and peanut butter chocolate chip. There were no complaints from anyone and we can't wait to come back to try more flavours! Total bill for 5 people (2 single cones, 1 double cone, 1 kid cone, 1 sundae) was $36 with tip. Bonus: the staff is delightful!

It's crunchy, doesn't taste like it's been sitting in the display case for days, or weeks. Sweetness is neutralized perfectly by the bitterness of the black coffee. They have 12oz as their regular size. I had to say that because I noticed that some places now are just serving 8oz, which is too small, then I don't have any choice but to order the larger size 16 oz. 12 oz is my sweet spot. The place has always been clean. They have a nice, long bar type table in the middle. Ambient music is just right. Perfect to have conversations while enjoying your coffee. The place is bright, not depressing. Service is fast and baristas are polite. For parking though, you have to park in one of those paid ones. Cuz this is a tourist spot so they regulate it. Overall, this is one of my favorite places to have coffee in.

I ordered the Nutella crepe with bananas for myself and the Nutella crepe with strawberries and ice cream for my husband. The cook dedicated thoughtful preparation to making the crepes, but it took 15-20 minutes and with an impending hotel checkout, it is not the best option for a quick breakfast. To the chef's defense, I'd rather have him take awhile than slop something together. Crepes are meant to be savored. However, the timeliness resulted in crispness and the crepes were difficult to cut through with the plastic utensils and plate provided. The overall taste was fair. As I watched the preparations, I was disappointed to see the final product topped with Smuckers brand chocolate. Higher quality ingredients would do a crepe good. Sadly, I allowed this place to charge an extra $5 in the currency exchange. I attributed it to tax and a tip, but in the end, two crepes with fruit (and one with three little scoops of ice cream) should not have cost $25 CAD. Be conscious of conversion rates ahead of time and allow at least a half hour - 45 minutes to eat if you're going to come here.
