Robin makes a delicious quiche, guys. We had the ham & cheese and it had a really fine thick pie crust with delicious flavor. I don't usually eat crust because it's just not worth the carbs, but this one was! Also a proper cheese-lover's amount of cheese on top! So good and baked well. I'd come back for this anytime. A fabulous breakfast and the perfect size for one person. We also got the brussel sprout sweet potato hash, which also comes hot and in an adorable little bowl (all their dishes are eclectic and cute). Also great, altho I added a little salt to mine. We also ordered mochas, half sweet, which were delicious. All in all, a great selection of items that I would come back and order again in a heartbeat. I'm a bit put off by the initial confusion of knowing what to do when entering the restaurant. But we quickly figured out that the menu is on the wall, and we order and pay, then find a place to sit. The delicious artisan bread that the sandwiches are served on comes from Zingermans bakehouse in Ann Arbor, MI. We won't talk about what else is in Ann Arbor. These are no ordinary sandwiches. Stopped in for lunch. What a cute place and the food was excellent. I had their chicken salad on lettuce (I'm gluten free) and it was exceptional! The portions were small so I ordered a second one. Their prices are reasonable so both servings cost about $10 - total. Really reasonable for the quality. My husband had their chili with cornbread. It too was excellent! It's a small place but they have a nice menu offering a number of interesting sandwiches / salads. Breakfast is only served on weekends. Not your ordinary fare, and all no doubt excellent. They take pride in the fact they don't have a microwave, and there are no friers. Everything is earth to oven quality food. Highly recommend. read more

My daughter and I enjoyed a delicious lunch, betty's salad, McNulty (Turkey BLT) and the four cheese grilled cheese. Absolutely delicious. After a long drive to a medical appointment, we were looking for a bit of good comfort food and found "Earth to Oven - Cafe and Bakery" on 5758 Main Street in Sylvania, Ohio. Unfortunately, while transferring from his wheelchair, my husband fell to the floor and along with him, his flustered, apologetic wife. The staff were amazingly calm, kind and helpful. Bob was checked over and expertly repositioned by the server (who we learned is also a nursing student.) Unhurt, we took a seat at an out of the way table and ordered. The chili with cornbread and tomato spinach quiche served in bright colorful stoneware provided warm goodness and comfort. Likewise, the very kind boss and server calmed our embarrassment by checking back frequently and made us feel comfortable and well cared for. And then... they wouldn't let us pay for our meal. Great place! I had planned to go to another restaurant for lunch. It was closed, so my friend recommended Earth to Oven. It was probably the first time that I was ever happy that a good restaurant was closed for the holidays because, boy, Earth to Oven was fantastic. I had difficulty selecting my sandwich; there were so many good choices. I went with the Prescott. It's billed as one of a kind. Well, it's a delicious one of a kind! My friend went with the Honey Bird and my partner ordered a half of egg salad and a cup of corn chowder. We were excited to see the iconic Betty's Salad on the menu. My friend took some quiches home with her and later said they were wonderful. We did make room for Gingerbread cake for dessert. I am glad that we did! Everyone enjoyed their food, all of it. Sadly, I forgot his name, but the man behind the counter was so helpful and considerate. He was integral in making lunch here a great experience. I will be back next time I'm in town. read more

Wow! What a great cafe. It's hidden away on Main Street, and I'd seen it but never been. But I'll be back! Everything is so fresh and tasty! Took a friend there the other day, and we LOVED it. I had the small Betty Salad and a tuna melt on sourdough. My friend had the large Betty Salad and a cup of homemade chicken noodle soup. The soup had big chunks of chicken in it and a rich-looking broth. My friend said it was great. The Betty Salads were very fresh and tasty. We both took some leftovers home! I'm a connoisseur of tuna melts, and this was the best EVER! Loads of tuna and melted cheese on delicious Zingerman's bread. It was served open-faced on two large slices of sourdough, which I subbed for rye. We didn't get to try the desserts, but we'll be back!
