4.5 overall I was excited to take my mom out to eat at this place that I have loved so much from past visits. I realized however that I didn't realize the challenges that elderly/disabled people face when dining out. I had taken my mom to her cardiologist and he suggested that I take my mom out for a late lunch- which I enthusiastically embraced. Upon arriving at My Way Bistro, we were able to park in a handicapped parking spot with a slope to the sidewalk, which was helpful to my mom, who relies upon a walker for mobility. Upon arriving inside the restaurant, we were given our choice of booths or tables. I never realized before that the tables and booths are very high for someone with limited ability to lift their arms. There were no other options that we saw and my mom did her best to settle into a booth that I found comfortable but the table was clearly too high for my mom. She was a great sport however and made do with the high tabled booth. My mom ordered a lamb gyro with fries and I ordered my usual Georgia Reuben with fries. My mom was very pleased with her gyro. It had lots of vegetables and meat, and she said the tszazicki (sp?) sauce was delicious. She also enjoyed the fries. I loved my Georgia Reuben because the cole slaw has a kick of black pepper and other ingredients that make it taste amazing. The homemade Thousand Island dressing was soooo delicious! I was a little disappointed in the fries because they were fried more than I prefer but were still good. Best of all, we both took home leftovers! Seriously, the plates couldn't adequately support the generous portions of food with heaping amounts of fries- and I say that as a good thing! The ambiance is that of an upscale sports bar, but was pretty quiet when we were there, even though screens were turned on. Our server was very responsive and efficient. Overall a great experience and I definitely recommend checking out My Way Bistro for amazing sandwiches (also offer salads that I haven't yet tried) that are levels up from typical bar food. read more

Looking for a dinner spot for Friday Date Night. Our initial pick was packed as it was close to the end of Happy Hour. We then pulled in to the strip where MyWay Bistro was located. Found a parking spot not too far from the entry as the wind chill was in the single digits. MyWay was crowded, but we were seated right away. Needless to say, the noise volume was elevated. There was a large group of people on our side of the restaurant that seemed to know one another. They were rather boisterous and seemed to have consumed a fair amount of alcohol. Even witnessed a middle aged woman who could hardly walk out on her own. Prior to her bumper-pool walking style on the way out, as she was seated, she hoisted up her leg and placed her heel on the man's shoulder she was with. Mercy! Alcohol can cause strange events to happen. We both ordered the Blackened Salmon Quinoa Salad with the Walnut Raspberry Vinaigrette dressing. Salad cost $18. To me, the salmon portion was a bit smaller than anticipated, but had a good blacked spiced mix and done very nicely. read more

Dr Oinker - pulled pork sandwich marinated in Dr Pepper. Actually quite delicious, and a generous amount of pulled pork. The house made chips that it comes with were great (we added a little salt, but ymmv). Man n cheese - corkscrew pasta with a wonderfully creamy real cheese sauce. This was a surprising delight, given that I find most Mac n cheese very boring...I would order this again in a heartbeat. It's probably really nice w the lobster addition! Brussel sprouts - nicely cooked, great flavor, with some dried cherries that I enjoyed! Again, i'd order these anytime. French onion soup - it seemed like it had some lemon, or something slightly stringent that I can't place. It gave it a lot of flavor. The cheese was a slice baked on it, but it was decent cheese. It was satisfying, onion, and tasty. This is a cozy place with tables to accommodate larger groups, good music that isn't too loud, clean bathrooms and friendly wait staff. We came on a Sunday for brunch to find out they had gotten rid of it which was a huge disappointment. Otherwise, this was only my second time coming here and the food and staff were so wonderful both times! I was very pleased with the atmosphere and waitress. Food was pretty average. Our servers decided to sit at an empty booth and chat instead of clearing off our dirty plates, and my God the ladies room is disgusting. Just filthy. Not just "toilet paper on the floor" dirty, but mildew all over the toilets, the floor had clearly not been properly cleaned in forever, and the smell. Oh the smell. This is a very good establishment for a relaxed dinner in Sylvania on Monroe near the I-475 exit. Located in a former Tony Packo's location in a linear strip plaza, the storefront is easily visible from the main road. The interior has been nicely redone to create a comfortable environment, replete with a bar and several TV screens with sporting events being broadcast. While "bistro" is in the name, it's really more of a Sports Bar. It is categorized as a bar and grill on the listing, and that's actually quite accurate. The staff is very welcoming and extremely friendly, so they get very high marks in that regard. The menu is peppered with favorites and mostly what you'd expect to find in a bar and grill restaurant, though with a little bit of a deli twist to the offerings. For the most part, burgers and sandwiches are the availabile fare. We started with a Brussels Sprouts appetizer which was a little different from others we had tried. It was prepared with dried cherries, pecans and balsamic reduction. It was quite tasty, though I would have preferred the sprouts to have been baked to a little crispier finish. My wife ordered the Mediterranean Wrap, which she found to her liking. I had the Grilled Cheese with Avocado, Tomatoes and Bacon. I was happy with my choice as well. Both came with homemade chips, which were exceptionally good in our opinion. The prices were relatively reasonable. Our final bill including food, tax and tip (we had water and soda water to drink) was about $23 per person. I thought this was not unreasonable for the quality of the fare. I would try this place again if the opportunity presented itself. It was a solid 4-star place from my viewpoint. read more

Stopped by here for lunch with the family - indoor dining available and there's plastics extensions that stands between the booths adding more separation between diners. TVs all around. The appetizer game here so strong. When perusing yelp, the mac and cheese was just calling my name-- super creamy and cheesy, everything you want in a mac and cheese. The beer battered onion petals are a MUST, definitely tops our lists as fave app. And lastly we got brussel sprouts with balsamic reduction -- a healthy choice, and quite delicious! All their burgers/sandwiches comes with a side of chips which can be upgraded to any of their sides (salad, tater tots, etc.) for an additional $3. I got their Chicken bacon ranch wrap - really good, just couldn't finish all of it after inhaling their appetizers. Their burgers were also delish - nice and juicy, piled high with condiments. I went to My way Bistro with my wife for dinner. She ordered a bowl of the curried chicken soup and Brussels sprouts appetizer for dinner, and I decided to try the Jamaican jerk chicken special. The soup and sprouts were very tasty, and enough to make a filling dinner. The jerk chicken was also delicious, but was only a single chicken thigh on a meager bed of rice. The special menu said chicken THIGHS on a bed of dirty rice. I called this to the attention of our waitress, and she said they would have to change the wording of the menu. It is appalling that a $17 entree would be served in the portion of an individual appetizer. I have gone to My Way a few times before and was very pleased with my meal.
