Highest recommendations for this shop. Unfortunately had my front two wheels stollen and my car was left on bricks. Steve got me in on a last second notice, put my car up on the lift, and gave it a thorough check to evaluate for other damage to the underbody. They insisted no charge for their time. I have been coming here a few years now since my old repair place changed hands. They've always done honest, reliable work as far as I see, and at a reasonable price. Jerry explained things about my tires and brake rotors I didn't know, but said my brakes are good for now and the noise I am hearing is probably rust on the rotor edges. I have used East Baltimore Car Care a couple of times in the past and always left wondering if I was overcharged. This time was the last time. I asked for an oil change and to replace a broken a tire pressure sensor. An oil change typically costs $75. I was charged $97 for the oil alone. Regarding the tire pressure sensor, Steve decided I needed two changed even though one was still working. He didn't ask for my permission before he replaced something that wasn't broken. Do I have a new sensor? How would I know? For some inexplicable, "run-on-sentence" reason I had to pay cash for the two sensors. I suggest you take your car somewhere else. read more

I appreciate their no-nonsense approach to repairs and I never feel like I'm being upsold or scammed-- they just lay out the facts, and let me know they can help if and when I want. For instance, my car's battery was getting old. They said, "we can fix it, but it's not urgent, so come to us when you're ready, it'll take 20 minutes to get done." Went in today with a warning light on. Turns out it was just low tire pressure which they fixed for no charge. Real upstanding business that I love supporting. read more

We were driving from NY to Baltimore to visit family when we heard a rattling noise under the car. 4:30 pm on a Friday. I saw this shop a block away with excellent reviews but the service really exceeded all expectations. I drive in and their open sign was still out. Steve, the owner, was planning to close soon and they would not be open on Saturday. He is great, as others mentioned, and we drove the car around the block. He figured out that a shield had loosened and was rubbing the driveshaft. They lifted the car and proceeded to drill new holes and bolt the shield back in place. The whole thing took 25 min. I could not believe how friendly and efficient they were. Finally I was ready to pay--yes I am from NY so was ready for NYC prices. That said, I was prepared to pay what I thought was a fair price. When he told me how much, I offered MORE and he wouldn't take it!! Have never seen that EVER from any mechanic. I can not recommend him more highly. read more

Woke up to find out our car had a flat tire, ALWAYS a bummer. Luckily we live a block away from East Baltimore Car Care, so I decided to just walk over & take a shot to see if they'd be able to help with this last minute. Explained the situation to Steve & he was incredible! Immediately on board to help get it checked out & fixed. He lent me an air canister to walk down the block with so I could pump the tire up myself & drive it over to the shop (this was so important to me since I would've needed to tow it without this help which saved so much money & stress). He inspected the tire & immediately found the pesky screw causing the issue. They had the tire fixed, all four pressures checked/balanced out, & ready to go within 3 hours of dropping it off on a walk in. I was seriously so blown away! The price was so reasonable, they were so professional & personable, & really made a positive experience out of a really stressful situation. Had a flat tire earlier today, fixed it with sealant quickly as I was in a rush. Then called these guys to see if they would fix it. My dealer won't coz they do not recommend repairing run-flats etc. Drop it off, went to lunch, walked back, and they found time to take care of it already. I know that with the sealant, it can be a little messy, and with TPMS and run flat too!! Not a problem for them. Most importantly, guess what, from my few decades of experience with mechanics, you will be lucky to find one who will adjust the correct tire pressure for you. I had tried all those NTB, Mr. Tires, you name it. Even when I had tire rotations and brake service, they don't bother to check your pressures, and even though I asked them to usually. But for Steve, I didn't ask him. After I drove off, I realized from the TPMS he has all four tires adjusted. Not just the tire they repaired, but all four!! I know because I checked those on my screen relentlessly earlier worrying the leaky one can go anytime. And they adjusted ALL four and test drove a block before handing me back my car. I didn't feel like I had to worry about being scammed and they were very upfront about what needed to be done and mentioned I could wait a few months to get some things done if I want. I lost a nut while replacing my car battery and Steve told me I could come right in and he'd help me out. He let me know that the bolts are ridged in a way that prevents the nut from coming on or off by design. He sanded down the bolt and replaced the nut free of charge. read more

I can't recommend the guys at East Baltimore Car Care more highly! I came in to have a wheel bearing checked on my 2007 Cadillac DTS before getting the vehicle ready for sale. I described the problem and they were very quick to come up with a few options to check for. Within an hour of leaving the car, they called, let me know what they found, and gave me a range of options to choose from. After all was said and done, they actually recommended NOT to have the work done, because although they didn't "want to chase business out the door," if I was planning on selling the car, it was not an immediate or necessary fix.
