I have severe ADHD, and places like Bay Club just never worked for me and no accountability, too easy to skip. TruFusion's cancellation fees annoy me if I'm honest (have had a fee fees), but they actually work and they keep me showing up! That accountability plus the community here is why I keep coming back. The energy from other members are amazing! FREE PARKING, can't beat that!

"This studio is beautiful," I said. She smiled. "The community is beautiful, too." She was right. Not all the light came from neon. The Guide: Anne * Hot Power Vinyasa Anne began by sharing something the yogis understood: Place your focus on the breath, and the mind can rest. She reminded us: This is a breathing practice; the breath, our anchor. Surya Namaskara A linked breath to movement. Then movement became a slow-moving dance. Pyramid led to Airplane. Airplane led to One-Legged Mountain. One-Legged Mountain led to Standing Hand-to-Big-Toe Pose. And on and on we went. As we moved and held poses in the dark blue room, Anne kept bringing us back: Breathe. Create space with the breath. The Tribe: At the close, Anne thanked us for being there, for practicing together as part of this beautiful community. The words resonated. Later, in the locker room, women laughed and talked as they gathered their belongings. Some were doubling up and heading into another class. Others were talking about their weekend plans together. Class had ended. The connection hadn't. The Space & Place: TruFusion feels wonderfully playful: Bold pop-art murals. Neon lights along the hallways. Polished concrete floors carrying the glow from room to room. Open cubbies lining the walkways. And the yoga room: Large. Mirrored. Warm. Floating white globe lights. Bonus: Your first class is FREE. And for that first visit: * Mat provided * Mat towel provided * Face towel provided * Free parking in the garage next door (head to the 3rd floor) Field Note: Breath powered the practice; the people lit it up.

This one is for people looking for a little more insight other than the commonly praised music, community, and coach (all which I agree with of course!). Some context, I was a regular to Crunch classes and was looking for a place with heavier lifting and more of a challenge. All of my workouts are morning ones, either the 5:30 or 6:30. The evening ones and teachers I'm less familiar with but everyone is great. That said, I do think these workouts are best for those with some exercise experience under their belts. We do various exercises which helps keep things interesting, but there's a lot of basics (deadlift, chest press, squats etc) that would be helpful to know prior to coming. You can still be a beginner though and even someone completely new to everything will be welcomed with open arms. Also, get the app and be sure to book classes through there. The workouts are fast paced, and the very first few might feel like you've walked into a tornado. The coaches start with a warmup and then will give you a rundown of all the workouts before starting. It's a real test of memory , but if you forget, others and the coaches will always help. We count on each other for that. Each day is a different workout with a unique purpose, but they generally are medium-high intensity and HIIT (high intensity interval training) or AMRAP (as many reps as possible) style. I'll go over them, but keep in mind these are the 5:30/6:30am classes. The late morning and pm classes are probably the same but I can't really speak for them. MONDAY - Upper and Lower - this is a time to get a full body strength session in, and is my favorite day. No cardio, just the opportunity to go a little heavier. The coach is currently Ciera and she's amazing. So fun, knowledgeable and kind. TUESDAY - SWEAT - cardio lovers, this is one for you. It's the most despised one for me and many others , but the highest calorie burner and a key day to work on agility and those fast twitch muscles. WEDNESDAY - Booty Blast - don't let the catchy name deceive you , this will have your whole lower body burning. It's a day when we go heavy on legs. Usually done in an AMRAP style, this one is a good one to find a group with similar experience and weights. THURSDAY - Cardio, Core Chest, and Triceps - this is a good one if you want a little taste of the cardio work, but also get a solid chest and tri workout. FRIDAY - Back, Biceps, Shoulders, Core - another welcome strength day that feels like a nice relief from the higher intensity work. You will still sweat, don't worry. SATURDAY - AMRAP - it's a full body strength and cardio session. Again, the AMRAP style is most optimal if you look for a group in a similar strength and fitness since you will all be using the same weights and moving through them quickly. Expect all classes to start with a 5 min warmup, and then end with everyone sharing responsibilities of spraying down the equipment and sometimes putting it away. Chris, the head coach is really great. He's very kind, easy to work with, and really knows his stuff. I am constantly impressed with how well balanced the workouts are, and how he manages to keep it interesting and fun! The gym is also very clean, and there's ample parking. I haven't done a dexa scan in a while, but in the first 6 months I lost 5.6% body fat and gained 2lbs of muscle. I'm only ~110 lbs for reference. Overall, I recommend Everfit if you're looking for a spot that is consistent yet interesting and fun. The community IS great, and even though there's not a lot of time to chat, Chris hosts social events and I know a lot of people that have found very solid friendships through the classes. Come try it out! There is a 7 days for $7 pass on their website, or some people use class pass to see if it's a good fit. Hope to see you there!

I have to say out of all the gyms I've been to: FBBC, UFC, Planet Fitness, The Camp, and many other local family owned gyms, Concord fitness boot camp aka Fit Body Boot Camp concord has been the absolute best! I lost weight but the change was not just in appearance. I actually felt stronger and could notice the difference in my strength. My energy and endurance was like my teen days. The crazy part is appearance wise this gym has been the least impressive. But Virgil makes the small space functional and you really don't need much more than this. When I showed up for my first trial the location made me hesitant. Virgil's customer service was great and he made me feel welcomed. The other members were friendly and there were all ages and body types. I stayed and loved it. Everyone was extremely helpful and motivating. They all push you to finish your reps, to keep moving and not quit, and if you struggle they make you feel okay with modifying while teaching you ways to work on it until you can one day do what you're struggling with. It was hard but it seemed like within days my body learned how to handle doing sit ups and push ups. Another major part is nutrition. Virgil helped me with a shopping list and meal ideas. He is respectful but also doesn't sugar coat. With each weigh in he reminded me what I needed to do to stay on track. I also learned how to count calories. If I still lived in the area I would see about joining again. If I didn't give it 5 stars it is solely because of the cost. When I went it cost around by $300/month. Is it worth it? Yes. Is it affordable and feasible? No. I could not keep up going there as it was too much for my budget. Pictures for comparison of cheeks and chin when I first started in March to September

The place looked pretty legit as you know I love legit gyms :-) I was asked to disinfect the bottom of my shoes as street shoes aren't allowed on the floor, since we laid on them for floor workouts. That made me feel better because I ain't tryna rest my head on a floor where people before me don't know where to walk sometimes and you don't know where they come from ahem, SF CITY STREETS!!! This was my first Bootcamp class in a long while so I was pretty thankful that Virgil (owner and trainer) allowed me to modify my workouts. Since then I switched over to group training. I do at least one class a week. Well, I did achieve my triathlon goal. In August 2015 I did my first sprint triathlon. In October my first Olympic distance tri. In December my first half marathon. Then this past October I completed a half Ironman! Over this time I have not had any significant injuries. I have consistently been able to set higher goals and meet them. These changes happened because of the culture of fitness I was introduced to by PMPT. We've always focused on form and discipline. It's never been about higher weight, more reps, or any degree of competition. I learned the value of slow, incremental gains. Let me also preface that this is all completely new to me. I had never been an endurance athlete nor a gym head. My time with PMPT represents the most significant period of fitness in my life. Ive never done anything like this before and I know I would not have if PMPT hadn't been part of the shift in my culture. In March my first Marathon awaits. Then the full Ironman calls...someday. I know that PMPT will be part of getting me across the finish line.

That takes about 7 minutes and the remainder of the class is dedicated to the workout, usually intervals, but he does switch it up quite a bit. If you are looking for longer periods of cardio I would try one of the classes offered on the weekends, such as the stair group....that's a killer workout. I love the variety of classes ranging from mobility and foundation to intense interval training and strength. This is a small gym and there no showers that are offered at the larger gyms, but it's not intimidating, they offer reasonable prices and everyone from the trainers to the members are super friendly.
