I was unable to do that day, and they told me they had another stylist with same "master stylist" level skill. I told them I am scared due to history of bad stylists so much so that I have not had my hair professionally done since early 2023. I told Philip I wanted a light brown hair color with some highlights and a cut. My hair is down to my waist, as we all know it does not grow there without a lot of love and care. When I walked in my hair was a mediumish reddish brown with the middle chunk pretty dark. I tried to 'trust the process' and not be a control freak during the application of the dye and tried to just read my kindle. I was hopeful that Philip has listened and my hair would be beautiful. When we went to the rinse bowl was when I started to get really worried bc no toner was used on my hair. I have a reddish tint that I did not want, and I had mentioned it also. Also, how can you highlight someone's dark hair without bleaching and then toning? The answer became apparent when the blow dryer did its work. He just touched up my roots to a dark brown. When I asked about where are the highlights he stated, "I put a light brown on them so it would be more natural looking". I saw all the red that was untouched and was not impressed nor happy at all. I still tipped him because he did the work however I am waiting for a call back from someone named Tracy. I paid $382 to have my roots done and a haircut that was actually uneven. I had my 16yr old son fix the crookedness when I got home. ON top of all of that. The chair I went to sit in was filthy as well as the floor was not even swept where I sat nor next to me, I did not even want to put my purse anywhere. The salon was sooo hot and I was sitting in my sweat the whole time. I mentioned how hot it was to Philip twice as well as told him the water he was using was hot on my scalp as well. I guess it didn't matter because no change. So, for anyone who wants a nice salon, don't bother with Dosha Salon. If they are going to charge high end salon prices they should offer at least a clean chair, water with ice, air conditioning and a master stylist who listens to what you ask for.. or at least who knows how to tone hair.

One thing I really liked was that the table was heated because I've been having some issues with my back that make it uncomfortable to lay down so having that heated surface under my back made my appointment even more relaxing. The place was minimalistic - tan, brown, and beige with wood. Calm and clean. The back gives the appearance of a long row of tents rather than a hallway with rooms. It felt rustic, and that was heightened by the sounds of the ocean waves playing during the massage. The massage was deep and, as expected, occasionally painful. He checked in with me about the pressure and I encouraged him to dig in. The massage felt good, my only regret is getting only a 50 minute massage.

I have visited Clare now 4 times and very thankful for her natural abilities to find the right spots to ease tension in my body. I am a hard working 41 year old man with three kids who doesn't make enough time to relax, so visiting Clare has been my mini vacations(each time I come home my wife says I look younger and happier). I have been an athlete all my life so I like a deeper massage and like the knots in my back muscles loosened up which Clare has devised some excellent techniques for getting my muscles to relax. I've enjoyed watching East Bridge Wellness grow and flourish--what a great team of wellness experts! I wouldn't think of going anywhere else for massage or acupuncture. Clare has an amazing talent for massage due to a genuine interest in her patients and their well being as well as a strong command of human physiology. Why not other massage therapists? I've needed massage for years and have tried many different LMTs, but stopped my trials when I discovered how good Clare is. Clare does her massage specifically for your body, which is what everyone wants, right? People don't want to just receive a LMT's massage routine that they've done over and over, rather they want their unique problems fixed. That's what Clare does better than I've found anywhere else. LOVE this place. This shop is in an old house so the treatment rooms are bedrooms. It feels so cozy and intimate. I have seen two different therapists and have gotten very similar experiences despite subtle difference in technique, which is wonderful to me. Both therapists were very good at sensing when they needed to change pressure and were quick to correct if they were going too hard, or too soft. If I had more stars to give this place, I would! She really helped with my range of motion and with pain I had been feeling from sitting at a desk for long hours. In 2020, the pandemic hit and I didn't see Jenny for 2 years. Fast forward to 2022 and I am back to being a regular client. Previously, my insurance covered massage, but I have different insurance now and it's not covered. That's fine. I will gladly pay out of pocket to go to Jenny. With regard to the actual massage, Jenny's touch is firm, but not hard, which I prefer, as tensing because of too hard pressure works against relaxation. Jenny really knows her anatomy and can focus in on specific muscles that may need attention. And Jenny's bedside manner is calm, peaceful, and attentive. Overall, she's great and I will continue to see her regularly.

When this week it finally became too painful to put off doing anything, I decided to pore through yelp for an affordable and effective massage therapist who might be able to help and who had availability soon. I was happy to find Laura. When I contacted Laura to make an appointment, I'd erroneously read that she had an available time slot yesterday and called to make an appointment. Even after I'd realized my error, Laura offered to fit me in to her afternoon schedule. Laura warmly welcomed me to her studio and took considerable time before the actual massage to learn about my current condition, particular areas of concern, and to allow me to ask questions. It was clear from her questions that she is well-informed about the kind of conditions she treats and what might cause them. Her attentiveness did not wane during the actual massage. While I was able to largely zone out during the massage, I could perceive Laura's attentiveness to trouble spots. I appreciated her methodical approach and her ability to read my body closely. She used a significant, but welcome, amount of pressure, yet not without checking to be sure it wasn't too much. It's clear that Laura cares about her clients' well-being beyond the massage table. Her studio was pleasant, quiet despite the busy street outside, easy to find and warm. Meanwhile, her rates were more than reasonable for the level of professionalism and care she took with the massage. I was also pleased that after the massage, Laura took additional time to show me some stretches I could do at home to alleviate the pain I've been experiencing. I welcomed her willingness to suggest ways to prevent or correct problems in the first place. Best of all, I went home with the pain I'd been experiencing greatly diminished. Since my appointment yesterday, I've been able to walk around with much greater ease and sit down to work without the same discomfort I've been experiencing for months.
