I recently went to Dosha to get my hair cut. The booking process online was very easy. I did have to call the salon and let them know I was going to bring my onw hair products since I have an allergy to fragrances. The stylist I went to at Dosha was Abigail Lovelady. She was very understanding of my fragrance allergy and also asked if I had other sensitivities. I have long fine hair that is straight. I appreciated how Abigail was very gentle when working with my hair and didn't pull on it when brushing or combing through it. The haircut itself turned out really nice and my hair felt really soft and smooth afterwards. I would recommend Abigail Lovelady. read more

I booked an appointment with Kalli on 6/25/26 for 7/21/26. The morning of the appointment I got a call saying she was unavailable and could not reschedule me until 7/30. I was unable to do that day, and they told me they had another stylist with same "master stylist" level skill. I told them I am scared due to history of bad stylists so much so that I have not had my hair professionally done since early 2023. I told Philip I wanted a light brown hair color with some highlights and a cut. My hair is down to my waist, as we all know it does not grow there without a lot of love and care. When I walked in my hair was a mediumish reddish brown with the middle chunk pretty dark. I tried to 'trust the process' and not be a control freak during the application of the dye and tried to just read my kindle. I was hopeful that Philip has listened and my hair would be beautiful. When we went to the rinse bowl was when I started to get really worried bc no toner was used on my hair. I have a reddish tint that I did not want, and I had mentioned it also. Also, how can you highlight someone's dark hair without bleaching and then toning? The answer became apparent when the blow dryer did its work. He just touched up my roots to a dark brown. When I asked about where are the highlights he stated, "I put a light brown on them so it would be more natural looking". I saw all the red that was untouched and was not impressed nor happy at all. I still tipped him because he did the work however I am waiting for a call back from someone named Tracy. I paid $382 to have my roots done and a haircut that was actually uneven. I had my 16yr old son fix the crookedness when I got home. ON top of all of that. The chair I went to sit in was filthy as well as the floor was not even swept where I sat nor next to me, I did not even want to put my purse anywhere. The salon was sooo hot and I was sitting in my sweat the whole time. I mentioned how hot it was to Philip twice as well as told him the water he was using was hot on my scalp as well. I guess it didn't matter because no change. So, for anyone who wants a nice salon, don't bother with Dosha Salon. If they are going to charge high end salon prices they should offer at least a clean chair, water with ice, air conditioning and a master stylist who listens to what you ask for.. or at least who knows how to tone hair. read more

I have been a regular client at Dosha for over 10 years but after my recent experience, I don't see myself ever returning. I booked hair appointments online several weeks in advance for myself and a family member on the same day, both under my name as the family member does not have a Dosha online account. When I later looked online however, only one appointment (the family member's) was visible, and I only received a reminder call for that appointment. I called the morning of to confirm the appointment time and was told both appointments were actually in place, however I had since had a conflict arise with the time of the second appointment and was informed if I cancelled at that point I "might" be charged a 50% fee. Initially I was told this was up to the stylist, although subsequently I was told it was "just policy" so I am still unclear on whose decision it was whether or not I was charged the fee. I then received a call back stating that I would be charged the fee if I canceled, but also that the stylist had a later appointment open a couple hours later on the same day if that would work to reschedule. I agreed that it could work and rescheduled the appointment, however when I arrived I asked if that meant I would not be charged a fee and was told that I would still be charged the 50% fee in addition to having to pay the full cost for the services at the later time. At that point, I decided to cancel all appointments I had scheduled with Dosha. I understand their cancellation policy, but by insisting on charging a 50% fee even to just move the service 2 hours later, the stylist and Dosha salon lost out on the full fee + tip I would have paid had I been allowed to just reschedule (to a time slot for the same stylist on the same day, that otherwise likely would go unfilled at that point) and I was charged $85 for nothing, thus turning what could have been a positive solution into a loss for all involved. I reached out via their guest relations email regarding this but received zero response. Posting this review to hopefully warn others that they are completely inflexible about cancellations- even with rescheduling the same day, they WILL charge you a large fee and care more about collecting that than retaining long term customers. Even if they had declined to refund the fee but at least responded to me and explained or apologized I would have considered returning, but it is clear they don't value their customers at all and don't care about our concerns. read more

The ordeal I went through recently was the worst experience with any business I've ever had. There is no respectful and responsive management available whatsoever, should an issue arise. They kept my money for 6 months without providing the product purchased and even ignored the Better Business Bureau's attempt to help me resolve the situation. I have now left Dosha as a loyal client of 15+ years and wanted to advise others. The process has been so frustrating and humiliating. I suffered from hair loss and decided to request hair extensions. I was advised that only one stylist at the Hawthorne location does them and it was required that I order hair through Dosha to ensure, "ethical sourcing" which was explained in a pretentious way. I ordered 2 boxes, at $206 each in June of 2025 and showed up to my install appointment in July 2025 only to be told that the hair was not there. I left empty handed with no responsibility taken or apology - I think this alone is not in line with an 'upscale salon'. The stylist located one box of extensions locally and said it was longer hair than I'd purchased but he would use it. After it was installed, there was a charge of $100 for cutting the longer extensions. This was not a fault of my own and I will add that they were also bluntly cut in a few short chops. It became clear that the extensions he'd located weren't a good match to my existing color after one wash; they were much too light and showed blatantly. I came back to Dosha to my regular stylist, Philip who helped to lighten the hair around the extensions to blend. This was nearly $300, again, out of my pocket. I asked at this appointment and multiple others that occurred over the next 6 months, if the other purchased box arrived, was always told "not yet." At the time of the appointment to move the grown out extensions up, I requested to add the other purchased box when making the appointment. I came and there was a stylist filling in was unable to locate them - so I asked the assistant manager to just refund them at this point, she told me it would not likely be an issue, that a manager would contact me the following morning to confirm refund. No call came. I called in occasionally (which I hated doing) to follow up and the assistant manager was short with me. Advising that she can't control the timeline for HR approving the refund. I escalated the issue to the regional manager at West Linn. She repeatedly refused to take my call or return emails. I then escalated the issue to the Better Business Bureau. After about 2 weeks of contacting the businesses on my behalf - BBB advised that Dosha refused to acknowledge them either. I was left only with small claims court if I'd like a refund. As a last ditch effort I went out to West Linn and the district manager stated, "sorry that 'they' didn't call you to issue the refund." No responsibility was taken. I was refunded the price for 1 box (in December 2025, 6 moths later) and nothing more- but happy to move on, finally. read more

Looks like I should have checked Yelp before booking an appointment here. I do not like to leave bad reviews but I've been thinking about my experience for the last month and wanted to share for those who do research via Yelp before booking. I went in for a haircut in early October and walked out looking the exact same way as I went in (but was $140+ poorer because of it). My appointment was with Doza and while I was 15 min early, she was still 5 minutes late for my appointment because she was busy doing her own hair and make up for a photo shoot that was happening at the salon. Apparently they update their photos regularly for the website to 'connect' with clients. I would say a better way to connect is probably to be on time for your appointment and not to worry about your own photo being taken but rather to assist with a new client who has just arrived to your salon for the first time. After sitting in her chair (reminder - 5 min later than my appointment) I showed her some photos of hair that I liked. In one photo she noted that the woman had very 'Caucasian' hair; alluding to the idea that my hair wouldn't appear the same way if cut that way. I myself am Caucasian and wasn't sure how to interpret that. I was a bit dumbfounded by the comment so I didn't address it but after telling my husband about it later we couldn't get over how odd it was a thing to say. The photos I shared showed layers on long hair. Doza simply trimmed the bottom of my hair one inch and did not add layers within my hair at all. When I tell you I walked out looking identical it's unfortunately the case. I also had a hard time seeing how much she had cut off because the chair was so low and I was trying to lift myself up off the chair to see the bottom of my hair. In my experience hairdressers will raise the chair so clients can see their hair in the mirror. The chair was capable of being raised so I'm not sure why she didn't do that. When I mentioned that it doesn't look like much was cut off (this was after about 20 minutes of me being in her chair) she said 'well I can't give you an entire other haircut in the total of 45 min that we have. You can schedule another appointment if you want to'. This was so off putting that I again didn't know what to say in return. Mind you, she was 5 min late to our appointment and we were only 25 min into the entire appointment when she said this. At this point I realized I didn't really feel comfortable with her at all and I just wanted to leave so she said 'do you want me to style your hair?' and I said ok to that so she put some waves in it and I was on my way. I was convinced she wouldn't be charging me the full cost since she was 5 min late and we finished 10 min early and she never washed my hair but to my surprise she proceeded to charge me full price. Since she was so strict on her 45 minute window you would think she would have stuck to her own rules and provided a discount for the 15 minutes that I didn't utilize. I did tip her which in hindsight I shouldn't have, but it doesn't feel right not too. I have since had to invest in another haircut since I never actually received one; but paid for one at Dosha. The second stylist at another salon listened to my thoughts on what I was trying to achieve and provided a full service experience. I've been a customer of Kalli's for a few years now. She recently moved from the Dosha 5th Avenue location to Hawthorne. She is awesome and I'm so glad she's closer to my house now! I'll go in with ideas of cut/color, and she always has great feedback of what will work with my hair. I have wavy hair that I mostly wear straight, so Kalli cuts my hair so it looks great no matter how I wear it that day. Not only are the consultations great (and happen before any scissors or color touch my head) but as an anxious person, they put me at ease and allow me to enjoy my experience. This was our second time here, I made appointments online for a mani/pedi. The times didn't aline so a gal from the call center called me to rearrange our times so we can be seen together. 5 star for great service. Nice wait area. I love their fireplace. Check in was simple. We headed to the back and got our pedis first. This place is clean and they play some good jams so it's not spa like if you're wondering. The pedicure was amazing. Massage chair and hot towels are the best! We got slippers to wear and we headed over to the mani stations. Again this was wonderful and we love our nails! The technicians were professional and sweet. I don't think they were slow but they were just thorough and patient and we left with happy nails! We highly recommend this place for mani/pedi. Just make sure you call them if you'd like to make two appointments at the same time and they can help accommodate you. I have never written a review for anything, but my recent experience with Dosha on Hawthorne has prompted me to write one. I've been going here since I was in middle school-- for almost 15 years--but no longer. Dosha on Hawthorne has lost a lifelong customer. I decided to give a new stylist a chance; I asked for balayage, with money pieces and a 2-3 inch chop. I soon found out that this was my stylist's first day and that his mentor was not there to oversee and mentor. There was no opportunity to discuss whether or not I felt comfortable proceeding. I ended up sitting in a chair for over 7 hours only to end up having my hair bleached in a yellow/gold tone, (when I had asked for ash), in choppy sections. The stylist and I concluded together that this is NOT at all what I had asked for. He was very apologetic. The entire salon was aware of what was happening- his appointments that day had to be canceled because of the how much time it took, other stylists would come over to provide their 2 cents, etc. I was frustrated, but mostly relieved that my hair hadn't fallen off after being in foils for so long, and because the person at the front desk let me know that this appointment would be comped, and that they would cover the cost of a redo. I came in for the redo 2 weeks later, and once again I ended up in the chair beyond the appointment time, this time for over 5 hours. The stylist tried to match my root color so I ended up with a result much darker than I had originally asked for. I could go into more detail on how many times we had to redo the color- but I won't bore you. I had also asked for the stylist to take off a little more length as there was so much damage from the previous appointment, but I was so eager to leave, that I didn't remind him. At the end of the appointment, I went up to the front desk to provide a tip, (I've worked in service a lot in my life), and I felt as though he did his best, (but was not supported) as he tried to fix the mess that was my hair. The front desk person proceeded to tell me that I owed money because they never received payment for the first appointment. I reiterated what I had been told. This person was insistent and said that I could call back and speak with the manager if I had questions. I was so done with this experience, that I just ended up paying. I made MULTIPLE calls to the number I was given, leaving messages. I finally received a call back from a front desk person who offered 25% off my NEXT treatment. I didn't think this was sufficient given what I'd been through, and I asked again to speak with a manager. She said she would have someone call me (no one ever called). After trying calling another two times, and leaving messages both times, I finally just gave up. This experience took a total of 13 hours of my time sitting in the chair. My hair is damaged, not close to the color I had requested, or close to the cut I'd requested. But the biggest disappointment is Dosha's complete management failure. I will not be back. read more

I had used Dosha for past spa gifts for loved ones without issue. It appears Dosha is either a dying business or they do not prioritize massage as the earliest appointment is way into April. When I called them to see why the delay was so long they were dismissive and said I should have looked at a schedule before purchasing a girt card. Like anyone would assume the place is booked out months out. I would expect a long wait from an exclusive place which Dosha is not. She's been doing my hair for going on two years now and she does an absolutely amazing job! And she's a wonderful person as well. I have colored my grey hair for decades and she's improved on it, adding highlights that get lots of compliments . And the haircut! So easy to take care of. After being told there was "nothing" that could be done with my stick-straight hair, Doza (and the salon itself) actually makes me feel good about my hair. It's such a relaxing experience to come in. I would highly recommend Doza (at DOSHA, love that) for both color and cuts. She asks lots of questions to make sure to get it right and is honest about what is possible with your hair. read more

For my hair needs I always come to Tia! She's bright, bubbly, sweet, and always gives me the best haircut! From her awesome shampoo to her meticulous cut, I can't imagine going to anyone else. I have thin hair and she's a wizard at layering my hair and suggesting products to give my hair volume and that sexy feel. She's also the only hairdresser I trust with my bangs, and she always nails it. The salon is clean, nice decor and all of the employees seem to be having a good time working there which is great. The only thing that's weird is the music, it goes from Grease's "One that I want", to Mary J Blige etc...kinda hard to get in the groove musically speaking, but that's the only thing I'd change about this spot! read more

I didn't notice the variation in length until the next day when I styled my hair. I went in to someone else to fix it and she had to cut some more length off but I didn't want it too short so she blended as best she could. I have been coming here throughout the pandemic and for several years before that...10 years in total. Though I miss having the manicure/pedicure services available, I am there every 5 or 6 weeks for a haircut with Chanse Dunn. Chanse is an excellent stylist, very kind and professional and accommodating. I recommend Chanse for any type of hair services. I get a haircut and deep conditioner treatment and a blow dry. I feel safe in the space as their COVD precautions are excellent. read more

I really hate to give a bad review, it's normally not my style. But I feel like I have an obligation to share, because I would want to know. I went in last week for a mani and pedi that I had received a gift certificate for. The facilities here are nice. It seems clean and smells nice and the building is very modern. Also, the tech that gave my mani/pedi was friendly. My big problem is with the quality of the product being used. I could see when the polish was going on that it was thick and tacky. It clearly wasn't coating evenly. This was true of the polish that went on both my fingers and toes (different colors). My nail also wasn't evenly coated; there were several thin spots on the edges of the nails. A top coat was added but didn't seem to coat the entire nail. I was very careful to not touch anything the rest of the day. But I figured that by the time I went to bed it should have been dry. Wrong! I woke up with blemishes all over my nails. 4 days later and I can still leave a dent in the polish! I called Dosha and left a message, but never heard back. I really wanted to give them the opportunity to fix this. But honestly, I don't think they care. Too bad. I hear Top Ten Nails across the street is great! read more

Very disappointed. My fiance gave my mother and I gift certificates for a Dosha manicure. My nail tech was right on time, and sweet as pie, but my nails look awful. I noticed shortly after leaving that all my nails had bubbles under them. Some quite large, and others it just looked like hundreds of tiny bubbles under the polish. I am not sure if this is a sign of old polish, or too heavy of a application of polish. For $35, I know I can get a very nice pedicure anywhere is town, so a manicure better be on point for that price! I am waiting to hear back from management. read more

Massage was a 5 star deep tissue massage with Jon. He did a great job! The spa itself was 1 star and I would not recommend going. The area is tiny, needs a good scrub, and no one is regularly attending to the spa area. The waiting area contains very angular chairs that were extremely uncomfortable. The hot tea was in a sad plastic carafe that remained empty the entire time. The changing/shower area was very tiny, narrow, and co-ed. Fortunately, I was the only one there, otherwise there wouldn't have been room. The lockers are also very tiny with barely enough room for my bag, shoes, and clothes; don't bring anything that requires hanging! The sink was gross and could use a good scrub. There was one well used hairbrush available, which was surprising that a spa with a hair salon beneath it does not have a sanitary hair brush setup. The soaking pool was nice, but if you decide to visit this spa, take a swimming suit. The soaking pool is co-ed. You'll also need to bring a bag for your wet swimming suit because, although it says they supply them, the container was empty. I love a day spa, but will not return to Dosha on Hawthorne. A shame because the masseuse was terrific! read more

I was gifted a certificate for a hot stone massage here, and was recommended to me to go to this Hawthorne location since they have a steam room and soaking pool that other Dosha locations don't all have. I went in for my appt, and was led upstairs by the receptionist to the changing area to change into our robes. I met with the LMT and had the most phenomenal hot stone massage, I wish I remembered her name, because she was so attentive to all of my problem areas! I felt like a brand new person after my massage. Afterwards we changed into our swimsuits to dip in the soaking pool, it felt so good to just sit back and relax. I was sad because the steam room is currently broken so we weren't able to use it! I like that the changing rooms have showers where they provide you with towels and toiletries. The spa itself is beautiful and has the most relaxing ambience, I'm thinking I might need to make this a monthly thing, loved my experience!! read more

Received a gift certificate for a prenatal massage at Dosha. This was the closest location that offered the massage. Being 38 weeks, sore, tight and tense, I was really looking forward to it. The massage therapist was pretty good actually as it was her 3rd week there, but 8 years experience. The massage itself definitely loosened my hips Up and she showed me some stretches afterwards. I have had a prenatal at Elements before and their tables were WAY better and more comfortable. I prefer the beds with the hole in it for your belly to drop in. Here, they have two sets of fumbly velcro padding you have to keep adjusting to get your belly to fit. Once you turn on your back, it was a lot more difficult to get comfortable, while flipping around, trying to hold the sheet, etc. I'd rather pay the extra $9 at elements just to have a more comfortable bed to lay on for an hour. read more

Savanah gave my hair evenness, balance, a healthy shine & eliminated all the split ends & awkward bulk. Tried Dosha as my regular place was booked out. It was right before Covid hit. My hair wasn't too damaged. My hair was wavy with some curl and had very little frizz before I went in. I decided I wanted to wear my hair curly, regularly, so I asked for some light layers to amplify some volume and some highlights. Before going here I could get out of the shower throw some product in and my hair would look nice. She styled my hair before I left and it look awesome, I was so happy. After they blow dry/style my hair it always takes a few days for my hair to go back to it's natural state. The weeks to follow I waited for my hair to return to wavy/curly. Two weeks passed and because of Covid things shut down. I bought different products to try to get my hair to curl again but nothing would work. They fried the shit out of my hair. Here I am five months later and my regular salon said I have to cut 6 to eight inches off my hair. I do not recommend this place what so ever! Here is a before and after. I went here years ago and it was great. However this place has really gone downhill. From booking, to canceling right before treatment, not returning customer calls, not offering help rebooking, just no customer service whatsoever. I'm done. read more

I went to the Hawthorne location today for a facial and to enjoy some of the amenities including a steam room and hot tub. The hot tub was really nice, but that was about it. I was pretty disappointed with my facial and the facilities themselves are not well maintained at all. Lots of deferred maintenance and poor cleanliness. There are plenty of other spas that I will likely pick over this one next time. Disappointing, especially considering it's a national brand. read more
