I got burritos, quesadillas, and taquitos. The burritos were super massive, filled with meat, rice, and refried beans. The jerk chicken was really flavorful in the burrito. Was not a fan of the lettuce and refried beans in the burrito. The quesadilla was also alright, cheesy and served with sour cream and salsa. The taquito were probably the best thing I had there. They were very big, flavorful, and a good crunch. Overall average mexican food. 6.1/10

Sooooooo we ordered a taco 10 pack and they gave us ingredients???? Hello???? Actually who does this if we didn't check the order before we left for where we were going we wouldn't have had plates or anything to make the actual tacos. Not to mention it took like 20 minutes after we had already ordered online ahead of time. Disappointed af I never leave reviews but screw yall.

PHILLY CHEESE TACO! I know what you're thinking... A Philly cheese taco?? Trust me! You're gonna love it. THE REST OF THE MENU Pretty darn good - especially for a Mexican restaurant in a random coastal town in Connecticut! LONG STORY SHORT Just trust me on the Philly cheese taco - get two and enjoy the unique treat!

Was very excited to try this place as I've driven by a few times. Atmosphere is cute but very basic. Service is adequate but zero frills. Sodas were refrigerated but warm. I ordered the chicken, steak and shrimp tacos. Easily the most bland tacos I have ever had. Soggy and no flavor. The salsa was basic, the chicken and steak had zero seasoning and were watery, making the flour shell soggy and frankly inedible. The shrimp taco was ok, but only had 4 small shrimp. I didn't even end up finishing my tacos. The other 2 people in my party were equally unimpressed. Maybe it was just us though, spoiled by the West Coast taco scene.

So when you are out and about along the upper shoreline in Ct before the casinos you will find this little gem on the niantic / east Lyme line. They have a vast variety of food from enchiladas , burritos , wings , and of course tacos Tacos can be had on soft flour / corn hard corn shells. Have all the regulars a few specials that are only served on soft flour tortillas. Chips very tasty as was the salsa the guacamole lacked spice and taste the cheese quessso was delicious forgive the spelling lol . Pork belly taco more like bacon crunchy beef was also lacking spice the quesadilla was delicious the burrito lacked spice as well. Overall a pleasant little place to stop can eat in or outside not far from great neck state park. Is a good attempt but if you want traditional and more flavor go south to new haven the wharf to taco truck row as you will not be disappointed

In Niantic today book shopping and we needed some lunch. I'm not normally a huge taco fan, but this place came highly recommended and all the teens wanted to go. It's a small little place with bright cheerful decorations inside. Quite a bit of outdoor seating with just a few tables inside, seems to be a lot of pick up and go here. We chose to eat inside where it was quiet. Our food was delivered all wrapped up like we were leaving with it, but I guess that's just how it's done here. After unwrapping and adjusting condiments, I took my first bite, not expecting much. I was very pleasantly surprised at how good this taco was, delicious and I had a different meat in the 2nd taco, also delicious. My son had a beef burrito and he enjoyed it very much. I would definitely come here again for tacos. The others in our party also enjoyed their tacos! Good food all around.

Mixed experience today at East Coast Taco. The main dishes we had - tacos and quesadillas - plus the friendly staff would have gotten 4 stars. But there has to be a one star reduction (at least) for the ride and beans that come with the platters. All agreed they were among the worst versions we've had - just so mushy and bland. It was really odd for a place that actually has some creative taco flavors and combinations. Think they need to go back to the drawing board on this one. The blackened shrimp tacos were my favorite - awesome flavor and just the right amount of spice. The pork belly tacos were tasty too, although they would more accurately be called bacon tacos (nothing to sneeze at, but when ordering pork belly I'd expect a nice meaty piece of pork). Beef quesadilla was a solid version with a lot of meat.

I love Mexican food and there's definitely a time and place for Tex Mex food smothered in cheese and sauce, but La Llorona really stands out for the freshness and colors of its food. The margaritas are also very good and there are always some super interesting flavors on the special weekly menu. In my experiences, the service has always been fantastic. I typically go with smaller groups and we always receive our food pretty fast. I went for a work dinner with a group of 14 and the service was still very fast and our waiter was super funny and attentive. I have also never had to wait for a seat here due to the large number of tables, but the restaurant doesn't feel cramped. This is a great place near the beach and there is always ample parking.

Chips were very crispy. The chimichanga was stuffed with chicken, rice, bean and smothered over some Cajun queso. The food was solid, but nowhere near mind blowing according to the achievement and recognition on the wall. It also is way higher then other spots and for there price I would expect a lot more flavor and even complimentary chips. Staff and service was fair. Overall the food was fair and given the area there aren't many other Mexican restaurants to provide competition, won't be my first choice to eat within this area but I wouldn't be mad either. This had the potential to be a 5 star restaurant if it weren't for the extremely rude waitress (Sarah) and over 1 hour wait time for our food. If you have an hour plus to wait and don't mind rude service, I would recommend any of the burgers or chicken wings. Let's just say Sarah needs to be talked to by her manager... The excuse for the wait was that there was only one bartender, one waitress and one cook...Is this a restaurant and a bar? Can you not handle people coming in ordering drinks and food? Does not appear to be the case.

My little sister Jackie is an Officer in the Coast Guard and hand delivered the Eagle ship picture that looks so grand on their wall. The atmosphere here is fun and energetic. We popped a few bucks in the juke box and put on some jams. Came just in time for happy hour that we thought we missed. Turns out we had an hour and it ends at 7pm. SCORE!!! OH MANNNNNNN DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THE HAPPY HOUR MENU !!! We had the nachos, bacon wrapped potato wedges, fried macaroni with a side of marinara, bbq and buffalo wings and lastly the chicken strips with a side of Thai chili sauce and the plum sauce. BOMB! All of it! My fav was the chicken strips with the plum sauce. I'll take another round or 5 lol. Fried macaroni was my next fav. Oh man my mouth is watering lol. They had a wide assortment of alcohol, which included my favorite ANGRY ORCHARD APPLE CIDER ON TAP BADOOOOOOOM BABY!! Ice cold in the cute glass!! Made me feel like a lady with my pinky out lol. I had an excellent experience here and hoping more of you come out and check it out. Happy hour is killer!! If I'm correct it's from 4pm to 7pm weekdays. The food and service were awesome and I couldn't have asked for more. Except for that slice of blueberry pie and vanilla ice cream at the end of course haha oh yeh. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town. Thank you for the grand experience, full belly and smile on my face!!!
