Stopped at this local eatery after visiting a church craft fair. My sister was in the mood for seafood and this place was right around the corner! While the establishment is nothing fancy, the food is delicious, the place is clean, and the young woman at the counter was super friendly and attentive My sister and I had the fried clam strips - they were tender and sweet and our plates were piled high with strips and fries. We ended up taking half of it home with us. My Mom had a fried fish sandwich and she went to town on it At 90 years young, there aren't many things that actually taste good to her, but she gobbled that sandwich right down I highly recommend this place and would definitely stop by on our next trip through town!! read more

I come here regularly with my family and friends whenever I am in visit to Middletown. So far I like it so much, the food is always good and I can easily assume that food is fresh. Beside the excellent taste that this place has to offer, the prices are unbeatable. I believe that you cannot find excellent tasting seafood restaurant with the low prices that they have to offer. Since the staff is very friendly I became friend with them, so whenever I come I get free drinks. From my experience there are rare places that offers free drink to its regular customers. read more

This place has excellent fish 'n chips, and the portions are just right. The breading thin and crispy, not that thick beer batter armor you get some places. Stopped here strictly for the Jamaican and I was pleasantly surprised. I've eaten at plenty of Jamaican places in Hartford and although this wasn't on that level I gotta say for Middletown that was pretty damn good. Decent beer patties and the oxtail was very good gave the rice a lot of flavor. My goat curry was good too but I felt they could have given more meat there was a lot of bone. I will go back and try the jerk chicken next I've read a lot of things about that. And it's dope they deliver but after reading some of the stories on here I'll stick to pickup. I first came across this place when a supervisor at took took us out to lunch. I had the jerk shrimp and it was amazing. Since then then my coworkers and I make a run to this place every two weeks for lunch. We also order from this when we want to host small team events. The Jamaican dishes are absolutely delicious and has a great kick to it in terms of spices. Anyone who cannot handle spicy food be prepared to struggle a little. I was looking for a place to eat in Middletown with my daughter. I used yelp to find somewhere close by. When we got to East Main Fish & Chips we were a little hesitant. Don't let looks deceive you! This place is small, looks like a take out only, until we sat down and ordered our food. My daughter ordered the fish n chips dinner ($12.00) and I ordered the fried calamari ($11.00). When our food was put on our table it looked & smelled great! This is by far the BEST tasting seafood we have had in years... We live in Clinton and go to many restaurants along the shoreline (mostly big name seafood restaurant) and this food blew them away!!! The fish was not greasy and was cooked to perfection. This place is really a hidden gem. I've eaten here multiple times, usually opting for the fish & chips dinner, and have never been disappointed. The fried fish is delicious, fresh and consistent in quality. (And I used to hate tartar sauce before trying it here!) Ordered the curry goat. It was so spicy you could not hardly eat wished the told me or asked me if I wanted it spicy or not. I put what I thought was a piece of goat meat in mouth and started chewing , come to my surprise it was a hot pepper. My mouth and throat was on fire. It took my breath away. Drunk several glasses of milk my mouth and throat was still on fire. After a while it finally went away. Lastly I didn't get my complete order. Called them twice they were suppose to deliver the rest of my order. delivery guy came to my house twice and still didn't have the rest of my order. A good fried seafood place. I really enjoyed my fried shrimp meal here--it was tasty, came out fast, and hit the spot. Tip: There aren't many tables here (we were lucky to get one) so it might be better for takeout instead of eat-in. The fish and chips here are amazing. My mom, fiance and I went there and can't wait to go back. Very low key. The atmosphere has something to be desired and definitely screams takeout, but the food is fresh and delicious. This place has better fish and chips than most places on the shore. I wasn't really sure what to rate this place. I've only had their seafood so far - I haven't tried the Jamaican food yet. The fried seafood was really good - and I'm used to shoreline seafood so I have a high standard for it. And I was surprised because given the "ambiance" inside, I thought it would be a shitshow. It seems to be a local hangout for some guys, who may or may not work there, who give off a bit of a Deliverance feel. The woman taking the orders seemed overwhelmed but trying to be professional. Great, fresh seafood at UNBEATABLE prices. Plus they deliver! The owners from Big Cheese Pizza next door own this too, so now I can get fried clams and pizza when my kids want pizza and I dont! They use cardboard containers upon delivery so your food is still crispy when it arrives to your door. I ordered the fried shrimp and chips dinner for my wife. She loved it and said the shrimp were very fresh and tender. I ordered the medium curry goat with cabbage. It was a very generous serving! I asked for extra cabbage in place of getting the plantains and rice. The goat was delicious and so tender with a huge amount of flavor. The cabbage was also nice and tender. Great meal!! read more

Sometimes they are out of a popular item, but that is very rare. Today I ordered home delivery of a large jerked pork dinner and a Jamaican beef patty. To know the REAL taste of Jamaican food you must either BE from the island itself or KNOW someone from the island. Being that I grew up in a Jamaican household my mom is from Waterhouse straight out of Kingston, Jamaica and after tasting the oxtails from this place I take it as insult as to how it tasted sooo horribly. Oxtail should NOT be cooked with ketchup or sweet pepper AT ALL. For my husband to say this food is nasty and he comes from a Spanish heritage and ONLY knowing Jamaican food from my family for the last 13 years is HORRIBLE. For Jamaican food I HONESTLY would NOT recommend this place. The Jamaica Patty is probably the best Jamaican food they do have and that's because it is not made from scratch. Not to mention the cabbage looked as it had curry seasoning because it had a greenish yellow tint to the cabbage. This is by far the worst I have ever tasted.
