Have lived right down the road from here for a while and recently decided to give it a try as I've heard good things and am a seafood lover. I was pleasantly surprised by the price range of the menu and how delicious the food is! Everytime I come in I get the crab cake bites, SO GOOD! Came in tonight and had a lovely server that was very attentive to us (which is very appreciated since I was starving!) everything was great. 10/10 , will continue coming

Ever since their doors opened in '92, this has been a well known spot for our family and it happens to be conveniently in my Aunt's neighborhood so when we visit and don't feel like trying to make it down to the shore, this is our spot for warm lobster rolls, whole belly clams, and happy hour. Emphasis on the happy hour.

Sam the Clam's: Connecticut- This is a nice little restaurant located in Southington Connecticut. First time here I was on the lobster roll prowl. Lengthy bar with a good number of tables and booths and the staff was efficient and nice. The parking lot isn't too bad, not the largest, but there's a good amount for people to park at this establishment and of course, aquatically themed. I started off with the stuffed clams which are quahogs with their own stuffing, tasty and came out piping hot. I ordered the lobster roll to go. It's standard, hot with a side of butter. Decent but a little drier than my preferred preference. Maybe next time I can try the cold version! They have a large menu and I wouldn't mind coming back and trying something else or getting those quahogs again.

I've been enjoying their seafood since I was this tall. You can't see my hand, but I think you get it; they've been open since 1991, and I don't remember when my parents first ordered food from Sam the Clam's. They had a takeout place across the street for a little while. So, when I was visiting my hometown, I stopped by the pub for dinner, since I'm an adult now and I'm allowed to do enjoy both the pub and grub. They have an excellent beer selection (largely thanks to Twelve Percent Beer Project) in a venue that's somewhere between nautical and divey (in a good way). They have a full menu, and I'm sure the rest is great, but if I'm coming out this way, I'm getting fish or seafood. Sorry, penne alla vodka, but I can get you literally anywhere. Service was insanely fast -- even the waitress was surprised -- and I was enjoying a platter of whole fried oysters. Now that I've travelled, I can say that there is better seafood out there. But for Southington, Connecticut, this is delicious, and I'll probably stop by every time I'm in town. I'm already dreaming of a second helping.

I stopped at this Pub and Grub one day on the way back from a meeting in Hartford. The seafood was wonderful and fresh. A friend recommended I stop on the way home from the meeting and I did. I will certainly stop again. It's a bar/pub atmosphere but very clean and nice. The staff Sara and Mandy was very nice and very welcoming. I would say stop and check them out and take pictures with the celebs.

It's a happy atmosphere . You feel like you're at the shore its a rustic feel .The salmon was done, medium rare. It came out just the way I like it. The swordfish was moist and sweet potato fries taste like they just cut them fresh . The service was very good the waitress was very nice . The prices are very reasonable . I'll definitely be back. .

Anthony Jack's ... it's like home, on steroids! It feels like family in here. And that's an awesome vibe. This place isn't for blue hairs only. Being I was here today for lunch, it was a younger crowd, along with children of the younger crowd. This was really nice to see Meeting great friends from Southington here for lunch, even though there are other choices, Anthony Jack's is a solid local favorite. Not only for me, but for the many. Today I was in the mood for a burger, and I ordered the $13 burger which arrived cooked medium, along with lettuce, tomato, and red onion. This was all served on a wonderful fluffy soft fresh roll. Chef chose a great roll to serve this burger on. The hamburger patty was not the frozen type cheap stuff; this was fresh ground beef, and hand formed. A quarter pound it seemed, and grilled with a nice charcoal flavor to it. It was very juicy and hit the spot. Also included with crispy well seasoned french fries and a little salad with house dressing. For $13 this was an excellent value. Our server, Brianna, was very very cheerful knowledgeable of the menu, and of course, very attentive to our needs. To say our service was perfect would be an understatement. I wish other food establishments had servers like Brianna. She's really that good. Restrooms, of course were clean, as usual. Parking was a breeze out front, but there are also many parking spaces at the rear of the restaurant and utilize the restaurant's back entrance. It was nice to come back home. And it was just as nice to return to Anthony Jack's. Anthony Jack's .. until I see you again, you left me with a smile and full. If you are attending Music on the Green, Wednesday nights this summer, consider Anthony Jacks a great place to pregame! Their martini list is fantastic!

I might come back in the future to order that and some other stuff as a main. Everyone enjoyed their entrees. My mom had short rib which I didn't get a pic of but it was pretty good. I had the bbq mixed grill which was fine but all the meat was covered in a thick sweet bbq sauce which I wasn't expecting and I lost all flavor of the wood grill. I wouldn't order it again, but I definitely would come back here.

Hop Häus is a gastropub and craft beer bar that opened in the Plantsville section of Southington,…read moreConnecticut in February 2014. It was founded by restaurateur Michael Miller. After 16 years of working in the plastics sector of a major chemical company, Miller tried his luck at the hospitality business. In addition to Hop Häus, Miller also owns the Blackstone Irish Pub and the Salty Dog Tavern, both located in the Milldale section of Southington. For his gastropub concept, he enlisted the help of executive chef Liam Kilmurray. They opened up shop at a location in Plantsville that had previously been home to Quinn's Tavern for a number of years. The combination of Kilmurray's delicious menu items (such as burgers, sandwiches, wings, tacos, and various small plates) and local craft beer on draught was a hit. A second location opened in Plainville in April 2021, but it moved to Berlin in May 2023. I've visited Hop Häus a number of times since it first opened. It's conveniently located right off of the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail, so I'll often stop for lunch after a morning of cycling. I recently stopped in with my older son after we had been cycling all morning. I had a gift card that I had been meaning to use. To drink, I had a draught pour of Dudleytown Brewing's "Berried Bones" (Fruited Sour). For food, I had the "Bourbon Bacon Brie Burger" (Häus bourbon bacon jam, melted Brie cheese, crispy onion frizzles, lettuce & tomato) with Fries while my son had the "Kids Chicken Tenders" with Fries. We were both very happy with our choices. Before we left, I had a draught pour of Abomination Brewing's "Rare Snack" (Imperial Pastry Stout). Brewed with ice cream, chocolate, and peanut butter, it was an amazing dessert beer! I've never had a bad experience at Hop Häus and I'll continue to visit for years to come.
