Decided to finally try Boiling Soho and see what all hype is with these seafood boils. Started with the shishito pepper appetizer if you love shishito peppers. These were really good. They had a smoky flavor cuz they must have cooked them on the grill and they were addictive. You just wanted to gobble them up. Both the boils we tried were really good. Seafood was fresh. Snow crab was nice and sweet. Just a little hard to get out of the shell. Wish we had one of those pic like instruments. It would have made it easier than just the cracker. The mussels were really good and the shrimp were great with the sauce We both went with a Soho special which is their signature sauce and we did two scoops for the heat level. It was perfect. Just a little bit of heat. Not too spicy. I liked being able to try all the seafood in the feast boil, but I think my favorites were the snow crab, clams, mussels, and the shrimp so I might just go with those next time. Came here for a late lunch today to enjoy a seafood boil and it was great! I got the snow crab, crawfish, muscles, clams, sausage, egg, potatoes, corn and broccoli for $35, a great price and portion. They had different seasoning options and I went with the spicy garlic butter. My fiancé got the Beef Teppanyaki, it was tender and flavorful. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Great little atmosphere they have going on. They also have happy hours during the week. We will definitely be back. read more

I took out lunch from here. I went for a combo 1 - shrimp, mussels and crawfish and combo 3 - king crab, shrimp and clams. Both were good. 1/2 pound king crab is only a single leg. Had I known, I would have gone for 1 pound. For sauce, I took the soho special sauce at fire level. Fire seems to be the right spice level for me. read more

As the kid threw us a tude we decided to go out on a date night. So since it was a Friday during lent we went towards seafood. To start we shared the fried calamari the coating was like that of an onion ring touch over cooked where a couple rings were rubbery but not tragic. The clam chowder was unexpectantly weird green in color with ALLOT of thyme and very little potatos or clams in it almost all broth. She had the hashbrown as well. My dinner was the sharkin Cajun sailors feast Cajun spice butter and old bay seasoning with crab legs, crawfish, clams, mussels, shrimp, sausage, corn, corn, potatoes and boiled egg. I have to say mine was delicious. The potato's were so good my wife ordered a side of potatoes with my sauce so she could have her own. We enjoyed our evening out and would return. read more

We wanted to find a place to eat where we could sit outside. I was a little concerned about road noise here but it was not a problem. We ordered calamari for an appetizer and my husband order fish and chips, I ordered the teriyaki scallops and veggies (no rice) special. There seemed to only be one waitress. Someone brought our calamari out but we didn't have plates or utensils. After several minutes, my husband went inside to get help. All of the food was ok - except the sweet potato fries were great. I was looking for a raw bar near by and I stumbled on to this place. Without looking too much into the restaurant I said hey why not and it was a great choice. I got here on a Friday at happy hour (J didn't even realize it) and I was able to find a seat at the bar. I was greeted by friendly staff and attended too almost immediately. I decided to keep it light and order a few happy hour bites with some raw selection. Let's start with the best the raw oyster and clams were AMAZING! Todays picks were fresh, delicious, and not that small size where you know the shells haven't even fully developed. The happy hour app sizes were perfect. The edamame as someone who always orders it if I see it on the menu was delicious, light and perfectly salted. The spicy pepper had a nice kick but not too hot to take you out and the rock shrimp, might be my new favorite thing. I will definitely be coming back here. It's a nice quant area on the Berlin turnpike, cozy environment with a nice ambiance and the food speaks for it self. Stopped in for a late lunch early dinner. The place has a good look. Spaced out nicely and clean. Ordered the seafood gumbo soup, onion rings and calamari. Soup was nice and hot but didn't really have any flavor. Calamari was blah. Really no taste. Onion rings were good but a little over fried. Service was good. Little over priced. All in all it wasn't what I was hoping for. Won't be back. read more

I had wanted to try one of the seafood boil places in the area for a while and chose Soho because I live close. The seafood, potatoes and corn were very flavorful. Make sure you get lots of bread to enjoy the sauce. I would also err on the side of ordering extra corn. Looking forward to my next order. read more

This is my new favourite Cajun seafood restaurant. The staff were courteous and friendly. The food was great, very flavourful but not overwhelming. You could tell the the fish was fresh, and the best part is that seafood wasn't fishy smelling or tasting (which you get with a lot of these types of places unfortunately). We ordered oysters, and coconut shrimp to start and built our own boil. Again, the food was great (it smelt so good that we ate it all before I could take a picture). On the night we came, it was a little slow so our food came out pretty quickly. It's a newer place with a great atmosphere and outdoor sitting patio. Can't wait to come back in the summer and hang out on their patio! Definitely recommend giving this place a try! read more

Just left there and the food was so good. I ordered king crab with shrimps ( which are huge ) and noodles in the soho sauce. Everything tasted amazing. My mom ordered surf and tuff which was also amazing. The owner ( not sure if he was ) was super sweet as well 10/10 customer service 100/10. I'll definitely be back. read more

Ok. I was surprised. By the name alone (boil) I was reluctant to come. Anything boils sounds bland. So I was wrong. Lots of food that is not boiled. Charcoaled, grilled, fried, steamed and yes some boiled. Surprisingly good. Had the charcoal grilled mixed grill plate (beef, shrimp, onion and peppers. Also the Gumbo soup. Wow, I'm so glad that we stumbled upon Boiling Soho. Alex, our server was awesome! He was incredibly cheerful and helpful when it came to picking food and drinks. He even went above and beyond and brought out a free homemade dessert for my partners birthday! The food is insanely good and they don't skimp at all, we got the combo 3 and it was legitimately 15 pounds of boiled seafood and veggies! If you're in the area I highly suggest a visit!! read more

Visited this restaurant before they had their liquor license so no opinions on drinks. However, they allow BYOB so that was appreciated. Customer service was attentive & refreshing. The restaurant itself is clean & they provide sanitizer, wet naps & gloves with your meal, regardless of what is ordered. I also noticed, condiments were on the table. That is uncommon now, with covid. It made me wonder if they take the time to wipe down ketchup bottle, salt & pepper shakers. I used a wet nap just to make sure. We sat near the window, looking out to the generous size patio, but we were also by the door & unfortunately, someone was smoking outside. The smell was so strong & intrusive, it came inside with the door being closed & both of us had to fan it away with the menu. Hopefully, that will be addressed, since it can affect someone with asthma. I didn't have a boil this time. Although, I did witness the presentation. The food comes in a bag as normal. Difference is, that bag comes in a low profile, shallow, metal bucket/bowl. It reminded me of a wide dog bowl. They also fold down the bag & wrap it around the edges of the bowl. I particularly liked this because I hate reaching down in the bag & risk getting juices on my arm & sleeves. Another normal size metal bucket is provided for the table as well. I ordered Cajun fries & the jumbo shrimp with cocktail sauce (it normally comes with tarter). The shrimp was deliciously crunchy & the wedges were well seasoned. Both came out one at a time but they were both hot! Which is a big plus. My friend had the lobster fried rice. She said it was very greasy & I can confirm, it was glistening. She did state more lobster was desired. I saw 3 acceptable size pieces on top, but that was probably for appearances. She also ordered scallops(2). Those were presented on a wood slab, with 2 limes, & the scallops sitting on their shells, in sauce, resembling pearls. Again, everything was hot. I've eaten from here a few times. Initial impression of location is it's a cute little spot. Has outdoor seating which is nice too. But have never eaten in myself. To go orders were on time and for one event we had a large to go order which they helped us pick and choose the proper combos and gave us suggestions which helped on sizing/serving. Be sure if it's a large order to call in ahead! You can always reheat in the bag by putting it in boiling water, just be sure to make sure there is no way for the boiled water to get into the bag and dilute the amazing seasonings!(maybe double bag like we did) The food portions are as expected. I'm not a small guy by any means and a combo gets me rolling around like a bowling ball full. For some one combo may be enough for 2. The combos are def the way to go and I loved the SOHO sauce. Spicy is actually spicy which is nice as some places just don't do spice even when you ask. So don't go too crazy if you can take spice as Spicy(level 2 only) has a good bite already. As someone complained about before it's not a typical "cajun" southern seafood spot. Depending on your flavor choice especially. It def has a more Asian influenced taste to it with the SoHo sauce(my usual go to) but it's amazing either way and tastes really great. The price may scare some off but when is seafood ever cheap? So just be prepared for those things and you'll likely enjoy it! read more

This is a Chinese seafood restaurant. NOT an authentic Cajun seafood cooking practice in sight or taste. Bland. Oily. Spice with no flavor. The seafood wasn't fresh. I ordered a half lb of king crab and they gave me one king crab leg no claw with snow crab/smaller crab claws with barely any meat. This is legitimately the first time I have ever wrote a review ever in my entire life, I had to due to the fact that this place gave me food poisoning or over 24 hours. For over 24 hours I spent that entire time puking my heart out, every 10 min. Once I received the food I noticed something was off the shell fish wasn't cleaned. The shellfish also hadn't been de shelled, there was quite a off smell around the bag by itself. I called the next day to explain they had gave me food poisoning and there response was for me to call a insurance number, when all I wanted was a refund m. I paid $34 dollars to get food poisoning is the worst food experience I have ever had. read more

Drove by this place, and had heard of the New Haven location. Did a large take out order with my family recently and did not disappoint one bit. Everything packaged perfectly, no leaks or mess until you get down to business! Ordered Combo A which includes 1LB of shrimp and 1LB snow crab legs. Legs were perfectly cooked and didn't even need a cracker to open the shell. Got it with the garlic garlic and soho special. Also got mussels with cajun spice, hard shell clams, bay scallops, grilled oyster (sauce it comes with is on the sweet side) and sweet potato fries and Cajun fries. Highly recommend all with your choice of sauce. The soho sauce I did not specify heat level on my order, so I assume it was whatever the lowest level is as it was not at all spicy to me. I'll probably dine in next time. I used to frequent Boiling Crab in Los Angeles, so it's nice to have Boiling Soho as an option here in Connecticut. read more

Went here because I thought it would be a good New Orleans style restaurant and it's pretty much a Chinese seafood restaurant. The prices are totally out of line for this style restaurant; they are charging Ruth Chris prices and not remotely close. One menu had one price and another already had a $1.00 increase on it. We decided to try Boiling Soho for takeout because our family loves seafood, however they are very picky. We were unsure of the portions, so we ordered about 9 combos for 7 people to go. The staff was extremely helpful and thorough in taking our order and the whole process overall. They got EVERYTHING right and we had a lot. It was ready fast, they helped bring it out to the car and even gave us a $20 gift card on top of it to come back. We took the food about 45 minutes away and reheated it when we got there. It smelled amazing the entire drive, but tasted even better when we got to eat it. The seafood was fresh, the portions exceeded our expectations and even our pickiest family members raved about everything. Seasonings were all wonderful. Great experience overall! read more

This was my first time here and I loved it. I ordered the combo 2 it came with a 1 cluster of snow crab legs and your choice of two other fish. Great portion size for one person. I order it with a little extra spice than it already had and it was perfect. Calm atmosphere and a smaller dining area but perfect for digging into this messy meal. Will come again! read more
