Good service, fresh products. I came here for dinner. I had the lasagna. It was very hot on arrival coming on a skillet. The flavour was quite nice except it was a bit too much salt for my palate, but not overly salty. I really enjoyed the tomato soup, I would have wanted a second serving, but I was already too full. The garlic bread is warm when it arrives, although I like my bread to be a bit more garlicky and a tad more salt on this one. The decor inside was not as fun as other east side Mario's I have been to, but the place was tidy and staff were friendly. They offer some pretty good kids meals here too, a variety of choices that come with a drink and dessert. Weekly specials are also a great price if you choose to utilize their specials of the day. DON'T EAT HERE My husband ordered dinner for me, Mothers day, I ordered Chicken Alfredo, how awful it was, no sauce what so ever but maybe a tablespoon, 3 very small pieces of chicken, the desert we ordered was 2 cheese cakes, but they didn't give us that either, they gave us beanutbutter cake, what if I was allergic, and they only gave one cake. We tried to call but no one would answer the phone and we tried for hours. We paid for the two cheese cakes as well. My husband picked the order up, now you would think that the person who took my husband money would have informed him that they didn't have Cheese Cake and they ran out of chicken and Alfredo sauce, but no no they didn't, they just stole his money with a straight face. I'd say this is more a 3.5, but all the bad reviews lead me to give them 5 stars. I'm from out of town, and this East Sides is my favourite location. The servers have always been excellent, and one particular server at the bar has remembered us even when we only visit once or twice a year. We always leave happy and full. read more

There are a fair number of negative reviews and I can see that they are from 2-3+ years ago. 2-3 years ago I would agree things were not the best. I can attest to that, but it was an easy go to, and there was at least one server who would do everything she could to catch issues, and train staff what true customer care and appreciation was like. Since then this restaurant has made many improvements, the quality of food has gone up, and the overall experience much better. I will admit that I used to say the Belleville location will turn anyone away, but now I would say otherwise. If corp execs are looking for someone to thank for this, go find and thank Wendy! The attention and care she shows towards customers should be commended and appreciated. She makes it worth coming here because if you have her section or the section of someone she trained you are guaranteed a great experience. read more

This is the biggest restaurant chain fail I have had. Ordered online selected cutlery and when I went to pickup was told "I don't have any" by the staff. I had decided to try the lasagne at $20 piece for its 16 layer goodness. And was served 16 layers of pasta with a little cheese and sauce. And just when you think that is a single fail the Italian wedding soup must have already gone through a divorce. The soup contained a single meatball and a maybe dozen pieces of pasta. read more

Absolutely horrible service. Waited 39 minutes no food as others were seated and ate. I would not recommend if you are looking for reasonable wait times. Not sure about food as got tired of waiting. Ordered soup and salad, 30 minutes later still no salad. Kids meals didn't even arrive so had to switch Togo. Very disappointing. read more

This location has been going down hill for years, but our last visit took the cake. To start the evening off, we were sat at a visibly dirty table, and had to ask that it be wiped. The table next to us remained unbussed the entire time we were there (around 2 hours). Only half our drink order arrrived, and after 10 minutes we flagged our server down to enquire where our chocolate milks were. She seemed distracted to the point of being bothered by us. My daughter received the wrong starter, but since the server practically ran away from the table after dropping off the dishes and never came back for over 20 minutes, she ate it anyway. Our appetizer order came out literally 2 minutes before our main courses, and over half an hour after our starters. After finally managing to get someone's attention, we were able to send back the 2 of 4 dishes that were cold and undercooked. We were not offered dessert. This restaurant used to be one of our family favorites, but our dining experience just gets worse with every visit. read more

I live in Toronto so normally go to the ESM here. I was in Belleville and like ESM so we went. Big mistake. In Toronto I order off the kids menu with no issue. I've had bariatric surgery and cannot eat very much in one sitting. I order the kids chicken parm and can only eat half. The ESM I go to in Toronto has no problem with me ordering off of the kids menu. I was with 3 other people who weren't terribly hungry either so I suggested we all order off the kids menu. The hostess provided us with them. We ordered 3 kids chicken parms and a kids pepp pizza. It took at least 30 minutes for us to get our meals. They were brought out by 2 people, one of them being the manager, her name is Jen. Jen served us and in a snooty tone said "Just so you know next time you come here you can't order off of the kids menu" I was shocked by her tone and attitude. We put it all together and figured the reason the food took so long is because our server was being reprimanded for letting us order off the kids menu. When our server came back to our table we apologized if we had gotten her in any trouble, she said it was ok but we could tell by her tone and the wavering in her voice that Jen must have really given it to her. Our server was excellent and I'm sure will go on to bigger and better things in her life. Some advice for Jen: Lighten up and try not being a bitch. If it was a rule in the restaurant that adults couldn't order off the kids menu then why didn't the hostess who brought us the kids menu know that? Don't make rules up as you go along, Jen. I came here during the Christmas holiday season so it was very busy. The waitress that we got was very nice but the overall service of the restaurant was poor. It took them forever to get our utensils and water. The food itself was not the best either. We ordered a pizza to share and it was slightly burnt. I would come back here to eat if I have to but I would go through my other options first! read more

Love ESM in Peterborough, will never set foot at the one in Belleville again. We arrived at 5:45 and was told 30-45 minute wait due to 2 large parties. Unfortunately we decided to wait. Just as we were going to be seated after waiting 35 minutes, someone from the kitchen (petite brunette with glasses) came and said anyone ordering now will have to wait approx 45 minutes for food because one of the parties had pre-ordered their food. When I mentioned we had already waited 35 minutes she just said that's the way it was and I could complain via email or use the symbol on the sign behind where I was standing. Once we were seated we said we would order right away and after taking our drink orders, bringing our bread then bringing our drinks and salad we decided to have the build your own pasta special....we were then told NO MEATBALLS because they were being used for the pre-ordered dinners. If they knew about thr pre-orders why didn't they have more meatballs? When our food came after another 35 minute wait, we were so disappointed, the arriabata sauce seemed watered down like they were afraid of running out and the pasta was mushy. I also had a mushroom in mine which I definetly did not order since I dislike them. Not once did a Manager make the rounds to the people who waited all that time and left it to the servers and bus staff to do the aplogising. read more
