My husband and I went to Linguini's for my birthday dinner and were very disappointed. I found out they didn't have enough staff for how many patrons were there for dinner. Our main meal came and both our dishes were cold. The waiter took them back to the kitchen and when they came back they were still cold. I ate about 1/4 of my pasta which is gluten free ( G/F pasta cold is gross) I asked the waiter to put it in a take out so I could bring it home to heat up. My husband ordered Veal Parm. Nice ambiance and great waitress and everyone's food looked great. I ordered a fillet minion medium and it was closer to well done. It was late and I didn't want to have to wait for another to be cooked medium so I ate it as is. It was still a good steak with great flavor. The deserts all looked awesome. Portions are well sized, they don't go light on cheese, they have kids portions, and they have gluten-free options, so everyone has a chance to eat. 4 stars for the excellent waitstaff and service. We were a party of 9 with two little kids and this place catered to exactly what we needed. Fast wine service and chicken fingers! The decor and art were tasteful, not tacky like some Italian restaurants. I had the mussel and mushroom shrimp. The mussels were a bit too creamy for me but I think I could have asked them to go light and it wouldn't have been an issue, I just didn't think to. We ordered e some excellent wine and enjoyed delicious chocolate cake for desert. If I lived here, I'd come again. read more

On our way from Belleville general visiting my brother with my family from out of town we went for supper after visiting hours We were all upset and tired We sat on the patio all 5 of us to enjoy the nice weather the hostess eventually came out and scolded us for putting the tables together and we are not allowed to sit ourselves but my husband had gone in and told them we were there Believe me if I wasn't so tired I would have left ! Came in from out of town and did not have a reservation they were very quick to seat us in the bar area as all other tables were taken. The waiter was pleasant but I have a feeling he forgot to put the order in to the kitchen. We had to wait a very long time for our meal. The couple that came in behind us had already eaten and paid for their meal before we had received ours. The long delay aside when the food did come it was delicious the veal was very tender and full of flavor. A St. Valentine's Day (these new parents) Would Rather Forget ... Forethought: we wish you had an email so we could send our thoughts along to you privately, first. We don't easily take to online reviews and, it is not convenient for us to have a phone discussion at this time so, advanced apologies for not phoning in the complaint. An old school (read: full linens, lots of faux gold plated decore and fake dusty sprawling plants) Italian joint with one pasta option on the menu, was the three course fixed menu for V day, yesterday. We were seated promptly, I in a pile of crumbs from the previous diner. Our server was lovely, but he did get slammed in his section all at the same time when we arrived and was frantic for the entirety of the meal. The pinot was a little flat and served in a water spotted glass which glowed disquietingly, through the candle light. My husband's whiskey sour was pale, watered down and made (dish?) soapy bubbles when stirred; garnished with a dry/shrivelled lime. The potato soup appetizer was creamy and garlicky; a great food start. Three visits from our server in, we learned that the complementary bread was, "by request only" and dropped off hastily right before our meals, on the crowded and small table. My main was a strawberry and Brie baked chicken, with some sort of pink sauce drizzled on top. The chicken was tender but the flavour combination was a miss. Think, somewhere between drowning strawberry ice cream and peptobismal on the bird. The chef had a great concept but failed this execution. A few pathetic steamed baby carrots on the side and a so-so garlic mashed. Husband ordered the ribeye which could only come medium rare ... for which we will not know for sure because of the absurd amount if gravy it was swimming in. A "gentleman's cut" read the menu, apparently means half grizzle. I mentioned the flavour miss with my dish to our server and we both returned our plates half eaten (this never happens; we are both good eaters and gobble up everything, even my own cooking mishaps). I washed it down with a dry cheesecake (didn't know that was possible) and my partner, so deflated at this point, choked down a few bites of "creme caramel" whose sauce was maybe aunt jemima's maple syrup ... Rushed the whole time, we left our date night (and first St. Valentine's Day as new parents) feeling fairly robbed of our money and time. A sad first and last experience. read more

My family and I went to Linguine's to celebrate two birthdays. We had a new server (she was only there 2 weeks) and she made some errors, but this happens when you are just learning. She reached across our food to put pepper on my dad's dinner, which is a no-no in serving. She also didn't understand that a screw off wine bottle didnt' have a cork! Anyway, that is not the reason for the three stars. I am gluten free. Eating out when you are gluten free is the hard part. I ordered my pasta with gluten free pasta. The sauce was amazing but we had to send my food back because the pasta was under cooked (hard). I suggested to bring back only the sauce. The server arrived only minutes after she took the food back with a 'new meal'. This was steaming hot, it was microwaved! I was not going to send the food back a second time, so ate the sauce. The pasta went untouched. To add insult to my birthday dinner, they charged us a premium of $3.00 for gluten free pasta that was hard and I didn't eat. The manager didn't even come and say anything. This was not a well serviced dinner on their part. To put a person's food in the microwave was crazy. Although my dinner was a disaster, the rest of my family throughly enjoyed their food. The sauce on my food was also amazing. Just a disappointment that we were charged a premium for food that was sent back. read more

We came here under the pretence that this was an expensive restaurant (it isn't cheap) but the portion size negates at least half of the "costliness". First time visiting this restaurant, we had Caprese and Caesar salads for appetizers, both were good. Main courses we choose chicken Parmesan and chicken limone. Not outstanding, poor presentation, with the chicken Parmesan my husband would have liked a pasta option which was offered to other diners. Good tiramisu for dessert. Good wine selection. I would drive from Toronto to go for dinner here. Simply amazing - best Italian food I have had in years and years. We were fortunate to be served by Michael, the owner - however it was clear from the interactions with other staff that the experience would have been just as good even if he were not there. The food was so unbelievably good. We had the traditional bruschetta and garlic bread and a Caesar salad to start - 5/5 for all of them. The kids even ate a bit of everything - they are usually pretty picky and don't like green things. For mains we had steak, carbonara and bolognese and chicken fingers for my youngest. Portions were humungous and the quality was amazing. We had desserts and a nice bottle of red. One of the most enjoyable dinners we have ever had as a family. Both kids begged to go back for breakfast the next day. My wife and I decided that we would venture back for our anniversary - and for an another trip sooner since that's too long of a wait. I absolutlely love this place! Quality food, great portions, friendly staff who know how to pair wine well with the menu items, and a lovely atmosphere. The costs are a little on the higher side for the area however the amount you get and the quality more that makes up for it. I rather come here spend a little more for quality and a little more quantity than go to a chain and get less. One of the great things I've found is the staff are happy to answer questions about the menu, offer suggestions, and know how to pair the various wines perfectly with the various menu items. Very few places know how to do this so it's a pleasure to the palate when it happens!!! read more

But instead of a whackin the server asked us what we wanted for drinks.. The Food had an old style cappuccino, very beepadee boppa. Lady food had a wine.. Which wasnt actually yuck, it was aiight. Then it came time for the orderin to begin. Lady food swooped in like a hawk and knew what she wanted, a dope looking pasta dish with bacon and some sauces, it was good.. But, as per NATO standard, lady food didnt finish it.. Wamppppp. The Food didnt know what to order so, the food played waiter roulette, which turned out to be the best seafood pasta the food has ever had.. First thing to note - this is located on NORTH Front St not Front St! We almost gave up looking for it. We were suggested it by a local but were pretty disappointed. One potion was ample but the apps and other portion small. Server was friendly but didn't check in or remove dishes. Flavors were mediocre & frankly tasted like packaged sauces. Quality food and great service! I ate here while travelling on business. It's the kind of place you would go with your family or even customers to get good Italian food. Makes you want to find any excuse to host a business meeting or family function so you can eat here! I last had the chicken limone with rose penne and finished it off with a cappuccino. Ok back to the steak...Medium rare is done to perfection every time. So many pastas pair perfectly with the steak. Everything is prepared from scratch. Excellent choice of wines. Servers are knowledgeable, polite and have never gotten an order wrong. Excellent lunch specials. The owner is almost always there and will always check in to see how your meal is/was. Tried Linguine's for the first time today along with 7 friends. The lunch menu was quite varied but I opted for the daily special of linguine with broccoli and chicken in a cream sauce. Excellent experience! Very friendly staff, was able to take out time looking over the menu! We were able to finish our starter salads and enjoy some more conversation before our entree came. Afterwards we did not feel like we were being rushed out the door we felt welcome there! The food was absolutely delicious - not much you can do with pasta but it's all in the sauce!!! Mmmm! I wasn't blown away with Linguines. It is better then Paulos though, that's for sure. But the food is average I would say. It's a little dark inside and outdated. The prices are alright and the service was good. They make you pay for more bread though which I think should be included considering the money you're spending to eat here. Currently mourning the loss of our favourite restaurant in Belleville 'Linguinis'. After delivering our apps. the waiter disappeared for half an hour only to return and inform us that one of our meals was not prepped properly. we had been there for close to an hour. When called, the owner Michael was rude, condescending and disrespectful. He refused to acknowledge the kitchens mistake and instead of an apology we got a lecture on fast food . The mains finally arrived and my son's med. rare steak was overcooked.When called again , the owner came looked at the steak and said' are we going to go through this again' ?We got up and walked out ,leaving our meals on the table. We have never experienced this rude and disrespectful behaviour on any of our previous visits. To Linguinis we say ciao, R.I.P.. Go sleep with the fishes ! read more

Unfortunately, this establishment is not accessible to physically disabled people & the elderly with any difficulty walking. Bathrooms are down a steep stair way. & no access entry for wheelchairs. Not even a railing at front steps. I would have thought in this day & age this would have somehow been rectified. ??
