    Mario's Chicken Parmigiana
    Glory S.

With the unlimited soup, salad and bread, the meal is very filling and worth the price. The parmigiana chicken was also bomb but felt that the proportion of tomato spaghetti was overwhelming relative to the amount of chicken.

Took a visit to this location on a weeknight. Overall a beautiful renovated restaurant with comfortable seating and good service. Ordered a Linguine Chicken Tetrazzini, scallop carbonara and the ultimate canadian pizza. The pastas were hot and creamy, but would prefer to have more toppings on it. The pizza was well made and hot out of the oven. Overall, a fun experience and will always come back for their pizza and unlimited soup/ salad.

    Cheery! And delish bread!

Typical of what would be expected from ESM. Service was attentive and pleasant, but not very knowledgeable of the menu. (This weekend as shortly after opening) Food was mediocre at best. The inferno Mac n cheese was terrible. The garlic tomato soup was ok, and the complimentary bread was good. Location was clean and cheerful, as would be expected from a new.

Service was great but food is just mediocre. Portions are decent and I would probably only go for their weekly deals.

The restaurant is located in a historic building and is tastefully decorated. As soon as I entered the restaurant, we were warmly greeted bonjourno! It felt like I was going to experience eating in a restaurant in Italy. My husband ordered the white anchovies appetizer and I, the aracini. Both these were throughly enjoyed. He had the rigatoni for his main and I, the bolognese. He had much higher expectations & said that he's had more flavorful guanciale before. He did like that the pasta was cooked a perfect al dente. My bolognese was delicious. The cook on the pasta was perfect as well & the ragu was some of the best I've had. We did both note that our pasta dishes was a bit on the salty side. My friend who had the same main as me mentioned this as well. These are minor things that can be easily corrected. Some other things I noticed was when our server refilled my glass of water, some of the water ended up on the table & she just left it instead of wiping it up. Also, my friend had the gnocchi which comes with mussels still in the shell & she wasn't given an empty bowl to discard of the eaten mussels shells so it just ended right back into the dish she was eating out of. I really appreciated being gifted a small bag of the strozzapreti to take home. I did enjoy the food enough to come back again.

There is no obligation to buy anything else. I ordered a Salted Caramel Panookie ($7.99). It was quite tasty. It is a giant freshly-baked salted caramel chocolate chunk pizza pan cookie, served with vanilla ice cream, and drizzled with caramel sauce. If you are eating this after a meal, you will need 2-3 people to finish it. The service was good. There are two sections of the restaurant: a regular family dining area and a sports bar area. Both areas have large TVs showing sports games. There is also an outdoor patio. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There are separate male/female washrooms. There is free parking in the mall's parking lot. (This review was written on 2024-07-28, but I forgot to click on "post review". Good thing it was still in my drafts.) Review 2024-144
