I bought a Groupon for laser hair removal and found Diana's salon in central Phoenix/Biltmore area. Good reviews and fair prices. I wanted to do my underarms and see how I liked the treatment before I proceeded to do any other body parts. First impressions: office is located not too far from the 51 and a lot of the parking is reserved, but I can always find a spot and walk a bit. This is a multi office building with other salons, massage parlors, etc. It smells great from the hair products and it's a clean space. Meeting Diana was lovely, she's a wonderful lady who is chatty and friendly and prides herself on her work. I had to fill out some paperwork before we started and she explained the process to me thoroughly. Getting my underarms done was quick and fairly painless, which surprised me. I also haven't had any side effects or sensitivity. She uses a cold laser that feels nice in the summer, gets a bit chilly in the winter but nothing unbearable. Diana is efficient in her work and she keeps you occupied as she does it. I always feel comfortable in her office and asking her any questions and she is honest to a T. I've enjoyed my results so far and added parts as I went, which Diana is flexible about and accommodates me accordingly. Always sends a reminder the day before your appointment too, which is very helpful. Once again, hesitant to share this hidden gem but I really do want to help Diana and her business since she is such a cool gal. 5 stars!

Plus her prices are amazing! She has great availability and follows up with a reminder text the day before your appointment. I have had multiple areas treated and while some have shown results right away others take more time. Diana was very upfront about this. But regardless if some of those areas ever become completely hair free there has been tremendous loss of hair. So overall I am incredibly happy. I know for some pain is an issue. However, I haven't had any issues with her machine. Every few visits one or two spots will be more tender than others. I guess I'd describe it as feeling like a slight slap from a rubber band. My only comparison is an at home laser remover which really hurt. So I am more than happy to entrust Diana with my laser needs.

One thing I realized was "safety & quality over cheapest price" My first round Stacy set true EXPECTATIONS with me since I had NO BUTT ANYWHERE. Let's say she exceeded my expectations on the first round!! My butt went from flat to big and natural!! She makes sure she does what she needs to do for the fat that is transferred to live and I retained 85-90% of fat from the 1st round!! She is always on call for you and checks on you daily after procedure. I've never felt more safe with a doctor before being so scared to doing a BBL in general as a single mother. During the consultation I was of course asked for my medical history which I provided I let them know I had fibromyalgia at that time. (it is not the owner or the manager in the room with you during the initial consultation, so they are not fully aware of the information provided) I also opened an account through cherry which is a financial institution The Glow Method is affiliated with in order to pay for the procedure per their options. I scheduled my procedure for about 4 months in advance. I made several on time payments as directed. At my Pre-Op appointment I went in and discussed the procedure with Eliza and she advised me against the procedure due to my Fibromyalgia and how much it would hurt, which I was very grateful that she let me know at the time. (When I mentioned this to the manager later on, she brushed it off and stated she wasn't aware that this was the reason for my cancellation ) So I asked Eliza if I could cancel and get a refund for what I've paid into the procedure and she said it would be no problem. Well.. it was a problem. The Glow Method ended up refunding Cherry only a partial payment and they kept the rest around $1500. After several weeks of going in circles with Amber the manager, I was basically told nothing could be done to refund anything else as the Cherry account was closed and they were keeping the deposit of 20% of the total $7,500 which I was not informed about in any consultation (read the fine print ladies) Amber kept having me track her down to figure out what was going on which was incredibly frustrating. She just kept saying she's working on it... If she knew they were keeping the money, then why have me go in circles trying to contact them to follow up? The "transparency" they claim to have was not coming through. I guess the company must be in dire need in order to keep that much money for absolutely no services provided. At one point Amber even mocked and said, "well what do you want me to do give you a check? we don't have checks here at the office haha." This happened to a friend of mine a few years back where they also kept her $2000 cash and wouldn't refund it and that was not 20% of her total. (I had hoped I wouldn't go through the same thing I guess) So if you plan on getting a procedure of this magnitude keep in mind that you will lose any money you have paid into the procedure if you need to cancel, even if you were advised to do so.... This was an incredibly expensive "consultation" I guess I donated to a poor pathetic cause. Ladies there are so many other places to receive these types of services. Don't risk this amount of money on a company that responds in this manner when something comes up.. especially a medical reason. You just never know what can happen by the time your procedure arrives and you may need to cancel, you don't want to lose that much money.

Through all my moves all over the East Valley, I would faithfully make the trek across town to see Esther. Fortunately, I eventually landed in Ahwatukee, so now Esther is just a 5-minute drive from my house. She offers waxing, customized facials, microdermabrasion peels, eye lash extensions, makeup application, etc all at very reasonable rates. I usually pay $35 to have my whole face waxed, tip included. Brazilians cost $45, eyebrows alone cost $13, and a 60-minute facial costs $65. She gives a customer discount card, which she initials at every visit. After the 5th identical service, you get your service 50% off. Cash or check only. If you call and leave a message and she's with a client, she's always very prompt to return your phone call and arrange your appointment. I usually can get in within a day or two of when I call. She currently works Tues-Saturday. Plus, she works until 7pm Tues-Thurs and she also works Saturdays, so it's easy to make an appointment that fits around your work or school schedule. I can't speak to her other services, but I can highly recommend Esther for waxing. She has a very relaxing set-up, with a comfortable bed and a cute little studio. I've actually been so tired and so relaxed that I've come THIS close to falling asleep while laying there and having her wax my brows, lips and chin. I don't know if this speaks for Esther's awesome hair-removing skills, or just highlights the fact that I've been having this done for WAY too long now that I've become sort of immune to the pain. I really like that she uses Jane Iredale (a mineral makeup without binders or fillers) to cover up the post-waxing redness. I'm super uber fair with super sensitive skin - so I'm the kind of girl that turns FLAMING RED after a wax. Worse yet, I stay red for a good hour afterwards. Well, after a wax with Esther I can actually *gasp* go shopping across the street at Fry's or Safeway IN PUBLIC without having to hide beneath a garishly large floppy hat and oversized sunglasses. In fact, I used to go get waxed during my lunch break, and return to work without anyone being the wiser! Another bonus is that you can do a little one-stop beauty servicing while you're in the building. The building where Esther rents her studio (Signature Salon Studios) also houses a bunch of other hair stylists, makeup artists, beauty salons, and kitschy boutiques. Lucky for Esther, I'm a hairy girl. Lucky for me, I've found her to keep my unsightly hairiness in check!
