This is a solid place. Food is fast and friendly service. Ordered: 1) the Cantonese Chow Mein: saucy and full of toppings. Just how I like it. 2) Beef with Mushrooms: tasty and also a good portion 3) Eggplant with black bean sauce: big chunks of eggplant. Good portion. Small family run, hole in the wall place. Great for take out. Food comes fast, hot and delicious. We stumbled upon this place a few weeks ago and have been repeat customers ever since. Tonight we got the dinner for three: chicken chop suey, pork fried rice, beef Shanghai noodles, and sweet and sour shrimps. Also came with egg rolls and fortune cookies. Loved it all. This hidden gem has the best thick Shanghai noodles I've ever had. This place is right around the corner from my house and I've been ordering from them for as long as I can remember. My typical order consists of thick Shanghai noodles with chicken and an order of chicken wings. I normally order the Shanghai noodles with added spice based on my preference but it still tastes great without any added flavour. The chicken wings are typical deed fried wings but their price point beats out a lot of the regular wing joints around town. I've also tried multiple other dishes on their menu and none have been a let down. The place seems to be a family-run joint which brought out more of an authentic feel. I also must say that their customer service isn't lacking in any way. I had expected it to be a typical pick-up counter where the employee handed me my food with a disgruntled look on their faces. However, anytime I do grab food I can almost guarantee i'll be greeted by a smile and a thank you at the end of the transaction. I will definitely continue to keep coming back to Eastern as long as i'm in the area. read more

My usual place was closed for vacation, so I decided to try this place. What a cute little retro spot! It's very small inside and I doubt they get many sit-down customers, but I love places that are like little flashbacks to earlier times. Ha. So I didn't get anything fancy or amazing, but I was extremely happy with my order, it was fresh and delicious and ready very quickly. Service was great, and prices were fair. Ordered schezuan beef dinner special and vegetable chop suey The amount of food they give you is insane, there was so much food for the dinner special, I'll probably be getting that all the time when I go here. They package it really well too, cardboard box bottom, paper bag inside a plastic bag, looked like a fancy chinese restuarsnt takeout lol Also they gave me 2 fortune cookies which was nice, I need all the luck I could get right now. Taste was pretty good, well seasoned schezuan beef / fried rice and not oily at all. Egg roll was alright, was vegetable filling I believe, but it's an egg roll, can't complain Wonton soup came with the Szechuan beef combo, tasted light and flavourful ( its basically a msg based soup, but wasn't watery). 4 wontons which is pretty good considering all the other food. Vegetable chop suey was also fairly large, although, it tasted very bitter for some reason, I'd recommend other dishes, instead. However this is just taste preference, maybe you would like it. All in all 10/10, way better than some Chinese restaurants in the area, although the amount of meat is a bit on the smaller size, total amount of food is enough I make up for it. read more

I ordered from Eastern Restaurant through Just-Eat on a Saturday night. The thing that attracted me the most was that this place was a one stop shop. Not only did they have the Hakka food that I was after, they had many other Asian dishes as well. And sometimes, when you're ordering food and you're craving different things, places like this are useful, and you only have to pay for delivery once! That being said, my expectations weren't crazy high when I placed my order but I was pleasantly surprised. For starters, the food came to my door quick, much quicker than the 45-60 mins Just-Eat normally takes on orders. The food was also pretty good! I normally order from Federick's for my Hakka cravings but I liked Eastern too. The portions aren't as big as Federick's for sure but in terms of flavour, they're pretty similar. I ordered the Hakka chilli vegetable balls and the hakka chow mein. I expected the veggie balls to come with a side of white rice but it didn't.. That's fine. The food came hot to my door and there were a lot of veggies in the noodles too, which I appreciated. Would order again! read more

I've resided in Markham for approx, 25 years and up until recently, I had not been able to find a good Canadian Chinese food restaurant that would deliver to our residence. Eastern Oriental was recommended from a fellow yelper otherwise , I'd still be on my quest. The food was delivered promptly, it was hot, fresh and on poInt. been going to eastern for 20 years. it appears that it may be run by new owners. in the past we have called to complain about something only if it really is bad. last night we ordered take out and had to call and tell them our Cantonese chow mein noodles were HARD. the lady on the phone said we ordered them crispy. say what???? didn't know you could order crispy and why the heck would you? she said we had complained once before "so next time you should go to another shop" so looks like we have to find another china shop since they would rather say get lost rather than a sorry read more

For the food court price and the convienice I 'd like go rate a 5 star. It's one of those places that makes fake Chinese food right and sweet for a late dinner as opens till 11pm. Ordered combo 1- sweet and sour spare ribs and combo 5 Sichuan chicken. As you can see from my pic, the portion is very generous for the price. My Sichuan chicken came with lots of stir fry veggie,steam rice, chicken is tender. Similar food at man chu wok will cost you $11.95 instead of $7.95. I also like the free egg roll that come with combo, it's like a fried spring roll that's bigger with bean sprouts and meat fillings. Chicken fried rice was good too, lots of flavour. I have already ordered from here more than ten times with a different dish and they never seem to disappoint. For me, the House Style Pad Thai (Chicken and Shrimp) is the best that I have tried. Watch out! If you have a peanut allergy please change your mind or inform them so they remove peanut topping. Their delivery was extremely fast and the food arrives extremely hot (in a good way though). This is a great place for takeout, family dinners or just something to warm you up in the cold Canadian winter. You can either order by calling them or on the Just-Eat app and website. In my opinion, this restaurant is probably one of the most underrated in Markham. The flavour is great, the delivery speed is remarkable and the quantity they put never let me finish one portion in one go. The price is on the low-end due to the taste and quality of the product, and the food can be on the healthier side if you order correctly. My recommendations would be: House Pad Thai, General Tso Chicken, C7 Deluxe Dinner and Hot&Sour Soup. read more

I've been coming here since I moved to the area 10+ years ago. Food is amazing (I normally order the spicy shanghai noodles along with the jai doo chicken wings) The noodles are just the right spiciness for me but can be looked at as being a bit on the hotter side for the average person. However, they do ask you what level of spiciness you want it at. The chicken wings are just your run of the mill fried wings and a bit on the smaller side but I think the price is worth it. Pricing is on the lower end for a decent amount of food which is always nice! I've never dined in but other than the furniture being a bit tacky and the plaza in which the restaurant is located being a bit old, nothing seems off about it. I'm VERY surprised at the fact that this place isn't more of a hot spot. Try it out, you won't be disappointed! read more
